Nevertheless, I spotted this restaurant and fell in love. The staff was extremely helpful and joyful. I ordered fish only, 3 piece whitening, with salad. My brother also ordered 1 piece of whitening. Ordered a Family 6 piece w/ okra instead of fries... 1st mistake! okra is frozen and not fresh. 2nd mistake-- allowing them to cover w/ aluminum foil without holes in order to keep it crispy. My Wife lived in the area 10 years ago and wanted to go back to one of her favorite places. Located in a strip mall, I'm expecting the worst: lousy food cooked in old oil with a bad after taste. It always hurts when I have to leave a poor review, especially to a Black owned business but this has been earned. The catfish was mushy and clearly frozen and cooked at too low of temperature and not long enough. It severely lacked corn meal and/or seasoning. The bathroom was disgusting, the place is dated at least 30 years, and the service was minimal at best. To put it bluntly, This place shouldn't be open for business. read more

Fried fish! Comfort food. There's not a whole lot that has to be said. Either you do it right or you don't. You don't hear much talk about fried fish on cooking shows. It is what it is. You get the right piece of fish, you get a good breading; seasoned to taste. You heat your fresh grease to the right temp (roughly 350-375*) and you bring them together. This place did all that! I ordered a fish dinner with 10 pieces of whiting, fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Everything was as can be expected. The fries weren't impressive, but everything else was so good that we didn't need fries anyway. THE WORST EVER!!! I stopped in and ordered a Sandwich and some Whiting on my way home which is about 50 miles away. I use to come to this Restaurant many years ago before I moved and it was good. OMG!!! On my way home, I started smelling the spoiled fish. It was so bad, I almost couldn't bear it. Came here for the first time today and I must say it was super yummy! The food is fresh and cooked to order so expect to wait maybe 10-15min. I ordered the fish supreme sandwich w/ Whiting. They make homemade tartar sauce that I was a fan of as well. The two ladies in the front were really nice and despite the place being extremely dated it was clean. There's plenty of parking on the front and side of the building. Over all 4 stars. I will be back when I'm on this side of town again. read more

I was brought here by a friend who is a super fan of their hush puppies. Now the best hush puppies I ever had were Wilson, NC at Parkers BBQ. Hands down best hush puppies EVER. But OK I'm open to trying new things. I have to give it up for this place. Second best hush puppies I ever had. Fish was crispy and seasoned well. Green beans were good, a bit mushy, but not completely overcooked. Fries were average. Shrimp, excellent. In all, I'd say it was worth the price and the wait. I used to go to the Supreme Fish Delight on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta all the time. It was a beautiful crispy whiting dream. Then I moved to Decatur. I was craving SPF really badly, and it was my b-day so I broke down and went into the SPF near my house on Wesley Chapel. I was starving, and it was like 100 degrees inside, but I waited patiently the 15 minutes for our "family pack" of fresh, hot, crispy, fishy goodness. I had no problem waiting as I knew everything was cooked fresh, even though there was only one other customer in the joint. We got our sack and jumped in the car to drive the one mile home. I couldn't wait and opened the bag, grabbed some fries and stuffed them in my hole. eeech! They were cold. I was dumbfounded - but...how? I stammered. I felt around desperately for the fish and hush puppies...they burnt my fingers satisfyingly...I quickly pressed my sore digits into the cold fries to soothe them. Eeech! Nothing worse than inexplicably cold krinkle cut fries. Or so I thought. When we got home, the husband calmy took the fries to the microwave, and I turned away with tears in my eyes, unwilling to watch the soggy warm nightmare I was about to eat. I dug a shaky hand into the fish sack and took a huge bite of my piping hot whiting...Eeech! It was gross. Wrong. It didn't taste like fish even, it was over cooked and the fish was rubbery and dry, not teasingly flakey and moist like my memories on Moreland. I slathered on the SPF tartar sauce, which WAS still tasty, and choked down the piece anyway. I grabbed another fish, hoping that was just a fluke, but no. It was even worse. The grease must not have been changed in fifty years, the coating flaked off at your touch and was an ominous blackish brown. I wasn't even sure it was whiting anymore. I sighed and pushed my food away. I couldn't eat it. The husband admitted he found it all quite vile as well, and we gave up...resorting to Toblerone and ice cream for our meal instead. Disgusting. Fifteen minute wait and fifteen dollars for hot and cold disgusting food. Not to mention the zombie like service when we were there picking up our food. I am very disappointed. The food is good but man are they slow and they have the tendency to run out of things sometimes. For example I got here about 8:20pm and its 8:51 pm and counting. This had to be joke! I only came here because the one near panola rd was closed. I ordered 2 dinners tilapia and whiting. The fish was greasy, broken hunks, and the fries were Luke warm. I was very disappointed. I should have known better because they usually allow you to view your food when it's a to go order well at least other resturants do.
