Unethical business practices! My mom bought my sisters and me each a gift certificate for a facial as a Xmas present before she died in the fall of 2019. Then Covid hit and the business was closed for a year. Last year I still didnt feel comfortable enough to be in such close proximity to someone leaning over my face so I waited until now to redeem my certificate. The owner said her rates have gone up to $150 and that I would have to pay the extra to cover the increase which in my opinion is unethical. She couldn't even tell me how much my mom paid for my certificate but my sisters and I thought $100. She made a big deal about it and said it would take her a long time to find the price! Then she said she isn't even taking new clients ! I asked for the $100 back and she wouldn't give it to me . She said "I'm too old to argue and don't feel I have to explain my price increase. I stand by my pricing". She had no options for me to resolve the situation and by then her attitude was so toxic I just left and lost the gift my mother offered me. Very disappointing experience. My husband, brother-in-law and son were going deep sea fishing, so I thought I'd treat myself to a facial. I found Supple Apothecary through Yelp and it didn't disappoint. Alison was there when I arrived, and ready for me. After filling out a brief survey about my skin care regimen, preferences and health issues, Alison gave me a wonderful facial. I had walked about a mile and a half to her spa (since the hubby had the car) and was really hot when I arrived at Supple. Upon realizing how uncomfortable the heat had made me, she turned up the air conditioning so that I had just a gentle warmth emanating from the heated spa bed. The treatment was very relaxing, and I truly enjoyed getting to know Alison. She is very personable, which lends itself to a relaxing experience for the customer. At the conclusion of the facial, she encouraged me to relax on the spa bed for as long as I'd like. Then she offered me water and showed me some of the products that might work well on my skin. I bought two products but never felt pressured to buy. My face felt and looked fantastic after the treatment. I will be sure to make a facial at Supple part of my annual trip to Orleans. I woke up to glowing skin thanks to Allison. Allison is a magician! First let me say I have had many facials in my day. I had my first facial with Allison yesterday morning. First, scheduling is a challenge for me and she set up an appointment even before her shop opened. Very accommodating. Second, the moment you walk in you feel relaxed and calm. With the beautiful décor and Alison's amazing personality you know you are ready for a treat. Third, the facial was amazing. I can not put into words how relaxing and educational the service was all wrapped in one. I have already set up my next appointment. Allison used 'In Fiore' fleur vibrante facial oil on my skin. WOW. I left it on all day per her recommendation and I can not tell you how amazing my skin looks and feels. I did purchase a bottle for at home use as my skin is exposed to a lot of air travel. OMG...the smell of the product is amazing when you first put it on. Allison also helped me incorporate this new product into my current regime. The owner of Supple Apothecary reached out to me after my experience by phone. She tried to rectify my experience by returning the payment and offering me an additional facial at no cost. She said that we could go through her products to determine which ones I was sensitive to. The steam with the ozone is definitely something I will never try again. I just wished we had discussed the process and products beforehand since this was my first facial; so I did not have to go through the experience I did.
