Jay-Lee was a dream to work with! Being a COVID bride was basically the worst. I replanned my wedding, from across the country, in 4 weeks. Jay-Lee was responsive, flexible, and caring to my needs! On the day of my ceremony she did BEAUTIFUL updos for myself, my mother-in-law, and one of my bridesmaids. She used my MIL's inspiration photo & made a beautiful updo. While I didn't really have a vision for my hair, she created a gorgeous masterpiece. It was so fun getting ready with her, and she fit right in with my ladies! She followed all COVID precautions while still making me feel comfortable and beautiful. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Jay-Lee is such a gem in this world, and I'm so thankful to have come across her website when I thought having the wedding of my dreams was completely unrealistic during a pandemic. Similar to Katie F, I too had to replan my wedding from across the country. I believe I googled "Arizona hair and makeup artists," and Jay-Lee's website was the first to pop up. I was immediately drawn to Jay-Lee's aesthetic. All of her clients looked NATURAL, so beautiful, and REAL. Within hours of filling out the contact form on Jay-Lee's website, I got a response, and she was available on my date!! I was so relieved! Since I live in Chicago, Jay-Lee and I planned my trial the week of the wedding since traveling is kind of a no-go right now. But I was so confident that she was the perfect fit for me. Luckily I had to plan a last-minute trip to AZ the month before the wedding, and Jay-Lee quickly made herself available for my trial that week. On my trial day, Jay-Lee came to me and spent 3 hours with me on my hair and makeup. Jay-Lee nailed my makeup look instantly! I looked like myself, but elevated! Exactly what I wanted. I had some photos ready for Jay-Lee of some updos that I liked, and she went for it!! I was pickier with my hair, but Jay-Lee totally rolled with the punches and came up with an updo that basically brought me to tears. On my wedding day, Jay-Lee and Ja'Nice did hair and makeup for me, my sister, and my mom. Ja'Nice did my sister's hair and makeup and my mom's makeup. They both looked beautiful, and they were so happy and confident the entire night. My experience with Superstition Makeup Co was a dream. I would recommend Jay-Lee and her team to everyone I know!!

Jay-Lee is the absolute best! She worked with my last minute planning and when I had to postpone and reschedule my wedding. She did the most perfect makeup that made me feel like myself without too much heavy makeup weighing me down. I was pretty vague about what I wanted but she nailed my vision perfectly in my trial. Words can't describe how happy I was to find Jay-lee for my wedding. She is warm and easy to be around and seemed to understand my wedding hair vision better than I did. She handled all of the hairstyles for my wedding and did a fabulous job making all of us look and feel amazing, despite the fact that each of us had such different hair types to work with (super thick, super curly, super fine, short, extensions etc.). Additionally, she went above and beyond by helping coordinate the timeline with my make-up artists to ensure we stayed on time. I would highly recommend Jay-lee to anyone.

Working with Jay-lee was amazing! I could not have asked for anything better. I hired her for my elopement in Sedona and a trial prior in Phoenix. She was on time both times and we had so much fun! She makes you feel very comfortable and we talked and laughed the whole time. We're new to Phoenix so she also gave us some fun ideas for things to do. She lets you see the progress as she works and is open to any feedback you have. My biggest thing was I wanted my make up to still look natural and look like myself. The results were perfect both hair and make up wise! She also gives you a little touch up kit to bring with you on your day which was a great addition.

You must use them!!!! SO professional! I felt at ease on my wedding day even when so many things were going on. The process from the very beginning to the very end was so easy and organized. 2.15.25 bride here! Where do I begin? I cannot thank Jay-Lee and her team enough for their amazing work!! My sister, mother, MIL and I have varying shades of brown skin, so it was super important to me to work with an artist who would not only be comfortable doing our makeups, but do it equally well for all of us. Also, each of us are not ones to wear makeup too heavily or often, so we wanted to stay true to that, but still be glowing and wedding-day beautiful. I put full faith into Jay-Lee and her team, and they absolutely blew us away! As the bride, my trial went so so well, and even though I requested a few changes on the wedding day, she nailed it. Absolutely love Jay-Lee and her team! I had my bridal trial with Jay Lee and she was so friendly and personable. She explained each step to me and we tweaked things as we went so we knew how I would want things on the big day. She was great with taking feedback and giving her tips and tricks. I also had her do my makeup for our welcome party and we tried out a different look which I also loved. All the girls and our moms also loved their makeup on the wedding day. Everyone complimented how beautiful the makeup and hair looked. Would definitely recommend!! We had about 18 services that day, 4 hair and makeup artists and everything went smoothly. read more

You are truly missing out if you don't book with this crew! Let me tell you, my experience with JayLee was more than I ever could have imagined! I had 9 bridesmaids including 2 jr bridesmaids along with both my mom and the grooms mom, and two flower girls that all needed to be ready by 12:30 and let me tell you- it happened! Not only was this goal achieved, but it was accomplished with such grace and such ease! Everyone got the styles they were looking for and plus a little touch up kit! I'm so LUCKY that I found Jay-Lee to do the hair for my wedding (bride + 5 bridesmaids)! She was so lovely and accommodating throughout the entire process - from the trial to the wedding day. Jay-Lee is exactly what I was looking for for my wedding! During our trial, I had very little for her to go off of. I'm not a huge makeup wearer and was really looking for something natural and beautiful but had very few photos for her to reference. She managed to make me look and FEEL beautiful just based on what colors and schemes she knew would look good on my skin tone. She came to me for the bridal trial and is even willing to travel to Tucson for our wedding next year. Plus she's super friendly and nice and makes you feel comfortable from the first time you contact her. I would recommend Superstition Makeup Co. to anyone! read more

My experience with Superstition Makeup Co was excellent! Jay-Lee was very responsive when I inquired via the website and took the time to answer all the various questions I had. I also loved that it was so easy to sign the contract and pay via an online platform! I had my bridal trial with Hannah the day of my bridal shower, and it was perfection! I showed her my inspiration pictures, and she asked all the right questions to clarify exactly what I was looking for which I appreciated!After my bridal shower, my gals were so impressed with the makeup that even more of them decided to book services for the wedding! Day of the wedding, Hannah, Martha, Kalia, and Jessica with Superstition Makeup Co made my entire bridal party feel so beautiful for my wedding day! I was truly blessed to have Jay-Lee style my hair for our tiny intimate elopement. She is a consummate professional, extremely talented, and incredibly down to earth. Since I was from out of town and we didn't have a trial run, I was naturally nervous about wedding day hair hiccups. However, she eased any nerves with her pointed questions that made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and she 100% delivered. More than anything, she is truly the perfect person to be a part of your glam squad, specifically for elopements, where the drawbacks of not having family and friends share in your special day can sometimes be felt. Cannot say enough awesome things about my experience working with Jay-Lee! She was amazing! I typically don't wear makeup or get too creative with my own hair, but when it was time for my big day I was panicking about hair and makeup. Jay-Lee was so funny, sweet, and knowledgeable that she put me right at ease. She worked WITH me to find the perfect look where I still felt like me AND felt glamorous. My hair and makeup lasted through my entire wedding and I had so many people comment on how much they loved it, and also how impressed they were with how it was holding up throughout the ceremony, dinner, and dancing!! Jaylee was so amazing! I barley wear any makeup so I wanted a more natural look and she did just that! I loved the way my skin glowed in the photos. She did a simple up-do for my hair and it was so beautiful. She is such a sweet girl and has very affordable pricing. I can tell she uses high end products because my hair held all day & night through all the hugs and dancing! She really made my big day flow smoothly with her positive attitude and fast hands. Not a huge deal, but the more annoying part is that her salon has 2 chairs and her fellow hairstylist thought it was appropriate to vape continuously throughout the appointment while she waited for her client's hair dye. Vape all you want outside, but in a business contained in a small room without windows, I think at a minimum you should ask the people there if they are okay with it.

Jay-Lee is the absolute best! She made me look like a queen for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding. I don't typically wear much makeup, so she made sure that everything looked natural and it was perfect. I wish she could do my makeup everyday - I'd actually start wearing it! She is also a rockstar with hair. My curls were perfect and stayed so all night without touch ups. I still receive compliments on it today. I also highly recommend you spring for Jay-Lee to stay on throughout your wedding day. She was always there to fix my lipstick and reposition my hair for photos. Now the best for last, not only is Jay-Lee phenomenal at what she does, but she makes the entire experience so calming and fun. She ensured that I was comfortable and helped me through my nerves whenever they popped up. She made me laugh, helped me practice my vows (or tried, I couldn't get beyond the second line) and just made the morning fun. Basically, you are a fool if you don't hire her! Jay-lee and her team are nothing but quality. First- quality in heart and spirit. I've not worked with the whole team (I hope to say I have one day) but I've been able to have my makeup done by Jay-lee and also been able to be apart of photo shoots where her and others on the team have done their magic. And magic is EXACTLY what they do. I'm not someone who wears makeup as my face tends to always be on the dry side and I can never seem to apply properly but I sat down in Jay-Lee's chair and before doing a thing asked me questions and got to know my comfort level and my inspiration for my glam! I found Superstition Makeup Company through my venue's instagram page and I cannot express how thankful I am that I did! Superstition Makeup Company did an amazing job on all the girls hair/makeup, and even accommodated last minute bridesmaid add ons and didn't let it affect our timing. Jay-Lee and all of the stylists are very skilled at what they do, every single one of my bridesmaids absolutely loved their hair and makeup! I personally expressed concerns from the beginning about my hair not being able to hold a curl. Jay-Lee assured me that my hair would hold a curl when she styled it and even gave me tips on what to do prior to the wedding day to be certain of this. Jay-Lee, Amanda, and Gracie helped myself and my girls out for my wedding on 2/14/25. We had a trial in December and I'm so glad we did! I was able to understand exactly what I wanted to ask for on my big day, and it gave Jay Lee an opportunity to work with my skin. I have sebhoric dermatitis that is worse under my eyes and around my nose. It had tanked my confidence, but Jay Lee made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day. Jay-Lee and Dani did our hair and makeup for my wedding day. When I tell you I never felt more beautiful, I mean it. Not only did everyone in my bridal party look absolutely gorgeous but everyone's hair and makeup looked perfect even after a 95 degree day in Arizona! The whole process was easy with Jay-Lee. Having Jay-Lee do my hair and makeup was the best way to start my engagement photoshoot day. From the moment she walked in the door, she put me at ease and made me feel confident. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, and her "natural glam" makeup made me feel beautiful, but not overdone. She's was early to set everything up, shes super sweet and took the time to listen to what each one of us wanted our makeup to look like. She made us all feel extremely comfortable. Joanna did my makeup and hair for my wedding and it was beautiful! 100% exactly what I wanted and I was very particular about color and style and she was always happy to adjust, I could tell she went out of her way to help me look how I wanted. She also was so kind and fun and even helped touch up my mom's makeup and give her lashes. I also have a big scar running down my forehead and acne scars which she was able to cover very well.
