We adopted a Golden Retriever puppy from them in Fairfax today. The store was crowded and my only issue was the vague pricing. They asked how much we were budgeting vs having a price list. They gave us a range between 5k-9.5k. We offered them cash and a lower price and walked away happy. I saw other reviews about sourcing and health issues. We received information and address of the breeder, names and weights of parents, extensive vaccination and medication history, AKC registration paperwork, etc. We receive way less when we adopt from rescues. Normally we never buy a puppy, but we've wanted a Golden for years and they're never in the shelters. She's active, playing with the other dogs here and having the time of her life. I will agree pricing is absolutely high, even for pure breeds, and I would never finance a pet. But to each their own. read more

Superstar Puppies - AKC Golden Retriever 4 month old Puppy - Pet Stores Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

SuperStar Puppies is a notorious puppy-mill broker disguised as a luxury boutique, holding a dismal 1.9-star Yelp rating and an F with the BBB. The storefront is run by Ophir Levy, an operator who has been flagged by the city for failing to pay local business taxes and dragged into Fairfax County Court by customers over bitter contract and debt disputes. The shop uses deceptive, high-pressure sales scripts to trap buyers into predatory financing for puppies marked up between $6,000 and $9,000, only for families to bring home filthy, neglected dogs that suffer from severe or fatal illnesses. RUN the other way and visit a reputable local animal rescue instead. read more

Typical puppy mill store. Unable to provide specific information regarding the health, age or source of their dogs. Offers predatory financing due to their excessively high pricing. Relatives have purchased a dog that ended up having congenital defects due to lack of health testing for the parent dogs. Store seems to be known to refuse any accountability for selling sick animals that require urgent medical care. Don't buy a dog here. read more

This place is so unprofessional. My husband bought the family a puppy (which we absolutely love) but we had issues related to our payment and financing. We have tried getting in touch with someone for 3 weeks. We have made several phone calls, only to be directed to an email for the "solutions team." My husband has sent several emails with zero response. I contacted them and the person I spoke with, named Olivia, indicated that she would escalate the concerns and that we would have a return call in 24 to 48 business hours. That was exactly 2 weeks ago and we have yet to hear anything. This company essentially stole from us and are doing nothing to rectify it despite our attempts. read more

My family and I drove pretty far and visited this shop to look at a puppy, and we weren't told about a rule requiring the puppy to stay on the floor. (We found out about this rule after the whole interaction.) One of my cousins held the puppy for a moment, and when an employee noticed, the puppy jumped down because it seemed spooked by the sudden movement of the employee walking over. The staff member quickly took the pup away very abruptly and was very aggravated. When we politely asked to look at another dog, we felt dismissed and spoken to rudely. We were told we weren't allowed to look at other dogs but told the staff told us if we had any questions about pricing and dogs we could ask. As someone who works with animals, I completely understand safety rules, but the lack of communication and the dismissive attitude made the experience very unwelcoming. Unfortunately, we left feeling upset rather than excited about adopting. If we looked at another dog we would have obviously left on the floor as they asked and just played with it. read more

Wouldn't give me price over the phone. Drove an hour an a half and the dog we wanted was being sold but by people who were financing. When we wouldn't go with the other puppies we were asked how we'd pay. We said cash and they were going to just sell it to us instead. But then they told us $6800... highway robbery. That's over twice as much as anywhere else. We left. They also have two websites. Reviews on the other one are lower than this one. read more

I would read the reviews. We purchased a puppy a week ago and have had a horrific experience trying to get a hold of the "solutions team". Once you buy a puppy, the same people who were so confident about the "benefits" become clueless and will not provide answers when the dog is sick. In our case, we are out an additional 2k in veterinary bills because our sweet, calm pup that we purchased was actually terribly sick. No emails, no phone calls, nothing is being returned. read more

They have an F rating on BBB so stay away from these retail organizations. They get their dogs from mass breeders and the dogs have a short life span from congenital diseases. AKC breeders always sell from their homes so you can see the parents. Buyer beware. After a thorough research they buy from puppy mills. It's a front once you get in. Never buy any dogs from these places. The breeders have inhumane breeding grounds mostly warehouses. Look them up and if you spend any money on businesses like these you contribute to the problem. read more

Once you walk in, they are only interested in your personal information. sign in is a mandatory with phone number and email address. If you don't make an online appt, they want to charge you for playing with puppies. Yes you read it right. And they will be pushy while you are playing with puppies. *Minus one star for being pushy from the moment you walk in.* And they never take down puppies that are sold from their website so you cannot tell which is available and which isn't until you visit in person or call them. We went in for A and ended up playing with B because A was reserved or sold. That happened multiple times so I can confirm they are baiting and switching your interest. *Minus one star for not being transparent.* Overpriced puppies. Most of them start from $7k upwards, but they are willing to go down to $5k or less if you bargain. We have been inquiring directly from breeders so I'm guessing their cost for each puppy is between $1-2k-ish. *minus one star for vague pricing.* However, pet cages are brightly lit and maintained well. Staff seems to care about animals and are fairly knowledgeable. read more

I drove an hour an half here to look at puppies. When I get there, I was asked if I had an appointment. I said no, but do I need one to see any puppies? He told me no, but it's $15 per dog playtime. Cool. I then asked if I can see 3 dogs, he tells me when the room becomes available bc the rooms are currently full. So after waiting an hour, a lady walking by asks, if I need help. I say, yes, I'd like to see 3 puppies. To her response, "well do you have an appointment? Bc as of right now, we're currently busy so if it dies down, you may be able to see a puppy. But earliest appointment would be tomorrow." I tell her the guy in the front told me I was able to see one today without an appointment, but you're telling me no I can't without an appointment? She then repeated what she said to me like I wasn't understanding English in a condescending tone. Don't waste your time here. If you want to spend 7-8 grand on a dog here, make sure you make an appointment so the condescending, curly haired, glasses wearing girl doesn't bother you. read more

Okay, so the update still has not been contacted by the so-called solutions team. It is nearing the 30-day guarantee, so I will go in person with the dog in hand to request a full refund and contact the local authorities to report the scam this place is running on innocent people who truly want a healthy dog. This place is a SCAM!!!!!!!! read more

The quality of the pups is good. However, I purchased a rottie puppy from your store in Fairfax, VA yesterday. I chose to take advantage of the 6-month interest-free financing. I qualified for the amount of the pup. As I was wrapping up the deal, the sales associate said the company that financed me charges a 6% fee of the total price of the pup, plus state taxes. This cost me an additional thousand plus dollars. I specifically asked her why they would do that after granting me a 6-month interest-free loan for over $6,000. She said the finance company needs to make a small profit. That did not make sense to me, but I was in deep sorrow because my other dog had passed away the day before, and I was not thinking correctly at the moment. The thought of this action kept me awake, and I decided to call the finance company the next day to inquire about their 6% fee, the company confirmed that they don't apply any fees after granting the loan. I request that fee returned to me. What she did was horrible and unacceptable. I'm very upset and hurt by her actions. She had also lied about the size of the pups' parents, but her supervisor corrected her. After returning home with the new pup, we learned she had supplied us with the wrong dog food as well. I sent an email to their solutions team, who have yet to respond. I've called them three times to no avail. They told me all three times that they expedited my complaint. I look forward to hearing from you. She took advantage of a disabled veteran. Really, it shouldn't matter that I'm a disabled veteran. I would never buy another animal from this store. read more

Megan, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. She was great at explaining the extent to which their business goes to ensure the quality and health of every puppy in the store. I would definitely consider purchasing my next family here from Superstar Puppies! read more

Great environment and People especially Issac, went with my grandmother and she had a blast she fell in love with the puppies, shoutout to Issac for the help and support his smile welcomed us in and gave us so much information. Great experience indeed!!!! read more

This is the most poorly run business. They collect your ID (not make a copy) if you want to look at any puppies to purchase. They make no attempt to return your ID and seem to think that it is the customer's responsibility, not theirs to ensure that customers IDs are returned. They have no knowledge of the animals they are trying to sell. They don't even know the exact age of the puppies. They can't give you any information about the puppy's parents or their breeders. They feed you the same generic line about their breeders being top x percent. They are not knowledgeable regarding the breeds of the puppies and their needs. Unable to quote a specific price until I pressed them. They simply said their dogs range between the price of $6000-$9000. It is an absolutely ridiculous place. I would not buy a puppy from this puppy factory if you paid me and even then I'm still not sure I would trust this place at all. If they cannot manage the simple day-to-day operations of a business, how can they claim to care for all of the animals that are in cages in their shop? This place is a cash grab. They are greedy and their staff are incompetent. Do your due diligence and find your furball elsewhere. read more

Buyer Beware. Check their BBB reviews first. These reviews are Fake. Made by bots. This is a Puppy Mill. A Scam. They are so bad they are going by two different names. Superstar puppies and superstar puppies for sale. Look them both up on Google and the BBB. Now read my story. My wife and I bought a Yorkshire Terrier from the Raleigh, NC location on November 17th, 2025. We put $1,800 down. Financed $5,000 for a total of $6,800. Got her home and noticed she was very lethargic after two weeks of having her. We woke up at 1am on Dec. 02 she was vomiting and could barely hold her head up. She literally died in my wife's arms a minute after she picked her up. We had to email their solutions department because there is no number to contact them. So far it's Dec 05. We haven't received a single response after sending 20 emails. Their contract gives the buyer a 30 day warranty to replace the puppy if something happens. I got curious and looked them up on the BBB and they have an F. They have all 1 star reviews and 15 complaints for the same reasons. I found out about puppy mills and sick dogs for the first time reading there reviews on different forums. Well that's exactly what they are. They are a fancy puppy mill with sick puppies selling for high prices. I want to start a protest and shut them down. we will also be seeking legal action. They need to be stopped. read more

Super Scammers should be their name. Ripping people off so bad. Lying about inventory to get you there. First thing you'll notice is all the dogs are covered in feces or playing in another dog feces , they don't clean them off before they take them out and hand you a filthy dogs with parasites. You should wear gloves at this place. They don't have the vet to check out those puppy's, they'll lie. You'll find out once you get the to the vet and you're charge hundred. read more

We were told on the phone that a puppy would be possibly not much more than $2000. We drove over an hour. Long story short: sales people know their script but the price was $6800! We looked at maltipoos. They were straight from a puppy mill: dirty, smelly, matted and having been a breeder myself, I am pretty sure they were not maltipoos. They had tiny eyes, underweight. We were told they knew nothing about the parents. That's when you should leave!..for that kind of price. There were some beautiful puppies there but the atmosphere had a bad puppy mill feeling. NOTHING inviting, just plexi-glass cages and cubicles to visit a puppy for a few minutes. The website did not have the nice puppies that were pictured on the internet. All of the extras they offer to make the price more justified would not even add up to $1000. You don't know if they really had a vet check. The only way they are making money is by selling to people who know nothing about dogs or the market. I recommend that you STAY AWAY! (I was at the Raleigh, NC location.) read more

We went to look at puppies and listened to the sales pitch. We asked several times how much the puppy was. They never gave us a price. We called the next day and they still would not give us a price for the puppy. Without being a Karen we asked to speak to the manager to see if we could get a price. The person on the phone said they could not release personal information. We still do not know how much the puppy was. Very suspect business practices. SCAM read more

I have 2 dogs from here - both healthy and adorable !! This place is way overpriced - but such is Northern VA so plan on spending a couple thousand but you will get a great puppy. Also, staff seems young and unprofessional but they are helpful and I've seen no turnover in over a year. read more

don't go here - please adopt from a shelter or rescue instead. you will make a difference in an animal's life by giving one in need a loving forever home. this place has a terrible BBB rating and perpetuates animal cruelty by selling puppy mill dogs. Plus, many customers report very severe health issues, some fatal, shortly after they brought their dog home. read more

Very disappointed in this place. Asking over $7k for a dog, plus making you feel terrible when you will not pay that price. Very sad day indeed. read more

If i could leave a -10 star I would.Purchased puppy and picked her up the very night and next day I noticed she was scratching at her ears. Made her a vet appt and found this little girl had fleas, bilateral ear infection and too many ear mites to count. After letting Vanessa know and asked for them to refund the vet bills she stated that puppy did not have any of these even though vet stated that the ear infection and mites had to be going on for quite some time to get this severe she also stated she has vet records to show the puppy was healthy. I asked to get a copy of the vet records and she refused. After going back and fourth with this company "Only Pups" they would not respond to any calls, text messages, e-mail. I left chats on the website only to find out they were deleting them. These people claim they love puppies but with their actions you can clearly see they are only in it for money and the customer service is horrible. They are very sketchy and obviously are hiding something. I would NEVER RECOMMEND them to anyone. These are horrible people. read more

Read the Better Business Bureau reviews (F) before purchasing a puppy from this disgraceful business and don't believe a word that they say about anything. What I personally experienced-a puppy that was sick with pneumonia-and a store that did nothing to help despite their "lifetime" health guarantee. A store that refuses to provide basic medical information about their puppies. A business that ghosts you after you have paid. They also charge exorbitant amounts of money for their puppies, significantly more than any reputable breeder. BEWARE!!! read more

The puppies are adorable and healthy. But way too overpriced. 15k for a puppy?? noo. Also having to pay $15 to play with them. We cant take pictures or videos and touch the windows. strict and pricy. customer service was alright tho read more

I'd say they're an awesome place to go and get a dog from! The dogs are kept in well living conditions and the staff are really nice(emphasize on the nice). The prices are rather marked up but somewhat reasonable for VA however! read more

AVOID this place at all costs. Horrible place. Finding a pup after your previous one passes away is a very tough. I finally worked up the courage to meet new pups after my last one passed away 10 months ago. I booked a "play date" with a pomsky listed on superstar's website for a saturday at 2pm. They confirmed in the morning and an hour before the appts (2 confirmations on the day of visit). I drove 90+ miles one way to get there and have them tell me the dog was adopted the day before. The place was run by kids. I asked for a manager and was told no manager on site. They looked me and said sorry, good luck finding a dog (with arrogance). read more

Issac was very enthusiastic and helpful. I would recommend giving superstar puppies a visit.
