Our dog is 1 years old, and we still have issues…read more we went to their recommended vet after purchasing, and we ended up having to put the puppy on several medications. we had to do a follow up, and he still had issues. we decided to go to our regular vet, and again, more medications was needed. by this time, we invested quite a bit trying to resolve the issues. eventually we resolved this issue. they claim these puppies come from reputable breeders. these dogs and their parents are not properly tested. we just had his 1 year checkup, and now we are told he is missing several teeth. that is genetic, and should have been disclosed by the "breeder". for the prices they charge, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to a certified breeder. going into puppy stores is difficult. it's hard not to fall in love with a pup, and purchase it. I have learned an expensive lesson. I believe these pups are from backyard breeders, who just want to make a quick buck.

Vlada provided me some goodies to get us going, and because of traffic, it took over 4 hours to get home. She slept and just looked around - no crying, no problems. She is 7 months old today (10/19/25), and is PRECIOUS. I am NOT a cat person - I am a dog person, but I have fallen hard for my Ellie. We experienced ZERO of the horror stories I have heard about kittens and cats. No accidents - she was already litter box trained. No scratching on furniture - she was scratch post trained but she's not really a big scratcher. She has the sweetest meow when she wants something, but it's never annoying or too often. She loves going "outside" (on a leash of course - she is completely an indoor cat) where we go to the mailbox and I brush her. She loves going "bye bye" in her cat backpack - she travels beautifully. Not once has she bitten or scratched - not even accidentally. She is definitely not a lap cat - she will not even sit in my lap for a moment, but she loves being held and kissed and snuggled as I am walking around. She likes to be near us, but she is never overbearing or clingy. A funny quirk: she is very hot natured - she loves being cool so she sits in front of air vents sometimes and has no interest in being anywhere near or on a blanket. Thank goodness we have hardwood and ceramic tile flooring for her! I have taught her to sit and come. And her favorite play includes wand toys and those little 1 inch pom balls. She loves chasing them all around the house, and she even brings them back to me to throw again. Also, Vlada was excellent to work with. And, my Ellie is perfectly healthy. We had her spayed last month and she recovered wonderfully.

I purchased Ophelia, a British Silver Longhair, on March 25, 2026, and returned to the same breeder for August, a Blue Lynx Ragdoll, on July 31, 2026. I paid $2,800 for each kitten. Ophelia was my only pet from March until August came home. Her only outside exposure was a vet visit for her final vaccination. She has since tested positive for feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), calicivirus, and Mycoplasma felis after significant gum inflammation and oral ulcers were discovered. I have discussed the timeline with two veterinarians, which is why I have repeatedly asked for the kittens' original testing records. The breeder continues to state that both kittens were tested and negative before leaving her care, but has not provided the actual test reports showing what was tested, when, or the results. I was told the testing was done through veterinarians, so I genuinely do not understand why the only evidence available is video rather than veterinary or laboratory records. The breeder reimbursed me $500 toward Ophelia's veterinary expenses and declined further reimbursement. What hurts most is that I trusted this breeder enough to come back for a second kitten. After spending $5,600, dealing with these diagnoses, and still being unable to obtain documentation supporting the claimed negative testing, that trust is gone. If you are considering purchasing a kitten here, ask for copies of the actual veterinary/laboratory test results before paying or bringing your kitten home. I'm also including photos in hopes of reaching their littermates' families. If you purchased Ophelia's female sibling from her March 2026 litter or August's sister from his July 2026 litter, please reach out. Each of the dogs I saw were bright white, well groomed, I reviewed the AKC, CKC purebred pedigree registrations, all vaccination and vet records were in order, I even asked about the cray to prove each Maltese had four to five puppies a litter. The adoption process was super easy, and they were willing to work with with me since we weren't sure my first dog was ready for a fur sibling. They wanted to make sure that the adoption was a good fit for everyone. I can say that compared to other rescues I have worked with, CDR goes out of their way to ensure that they are giving dogs a good home and make sure they are up front about a dogs needs and medical history. The way they handled it was so concerning that and I can't in good conscience recommended them to anyone. They are too disorganized and unprofessional to be trusted with the well-being of vulnerable animals. The short version of my story is, they told me for weeks that they were working on my adoption application when they'd actually deleted it because of a technical glitch that they never bothered to tell me about. The full version is as follows: I spent hours filling out the lengthy application to adopt a cat, Lala, from them and waited for weeks to hear back about her. Every time I contacted them about my application, they said they were working on it and I would hear back soon. As time went on, I knew something was off, but I didn't know what. Finally, after weeks of little-to-no communication from them, they sent me a curt email telling me they'd just given the cat to someone else (who applied long after I did, so clearly they have the capability to get adoptions done quickly when they want to) and that they knew all along I'd been trying to adopt her but had deleted my application without considering it and without telling me they'd done so. I was absolutely devastated. I'd wanted that cat so badly and had been waiting for weeks to hear back. I cried for days after getting that message. Everything about the way they handled this was incredibly suspicious and frankly gross. I truly don't understand why they chose again and again, for weeks, to tell me that they were working on my application when that wasn't true. They should have told me that there'd been a glitch so I could fill out a new one - that would have taken no more time and effort than telling me they were working on it. (Not to mention, the whole time this was happening, this poor little cat was homeless. Did they not care about her at all?) At the very least, they should have just said at the beginning that they weren't considering me; that would have saved me weeks of anxiety, confusion, and uncertainty and then the heartbreak at the end. No one at the organization acknowledged that I was hurt or that telling me they were working on my application when they'd actually deleted it was, at best, a wildly inappropriate and unprofessional thing to do. FF, I now have a lovely cat I adopted from Last Chance Animal Rescue and we're very happy together.

Danilo explained the whole process that was going to happen. Dr. Kirchart is an excellent doctor. She's so knowledgeable and also explains the importance of dental care. I also had a nice conversation with LVT Jen. She's so smart and caring. She also took very great care of Tito. Juan did a great job monitoring Tito while under anesthesia. If these 4 people did such a great job, I'm 100% sure the rest of the staff is equally amazing! Totally recommend getting your pets cared for here. Front staff is also very helpful and polite! My dog goes to different practice because he was already on a plan when I adopted him and it made more sense to keep him on that plan, but my cats (& previous dogs) were patients here & we used to board our dogs here too. When they were good, I would constantly tell people to go here but after we had a hellish experience we shared our trauma & literally told people to stay far away from here! And we stayed far away from here! My good times here have been amazing & one of the vets saved my beautiful baby during the same hellish experience with the jerk of a vet who caused us to let go of our baby. But sadly the amazing vet moved and so I swore this place off! I needed a new vet and I really went down the rabbit hole of research and was actually brought right back here and I am so grateful that we found Dr. Candace Flynn! She is simply a dream and the most amazing, compassionate and caring vet I think I have ever met and my kitty is so comfortable with her it's pure love! Dr. Flynn, who deserves FIVE STARS+++, is also wonderful with her advice and guidance. She's very communicative and informative and just well-rounded with a holistic approach, but the amount of time and love she spends with your pet (and you) is priceless!!! They are a 24-hour emergency care, veterinary hospital, fully equipped, and fully staffed round the clock. They also have a separate, waiting room for dogs and cats to help ease the anxiety. They also have two sister hospitals in both Clifton and Arlington, Virginia. Yes, they are a bit pricier but you're inside the beltway & 15 minutes from DC so what do you expect?! Thankfully, there has been more good than bad and I know which vet to steer clear from & I still forewarn people about her! 7/2/27
