I asked about diagnostics informing them that I had already performed my own diagnostics having owned a automotive shop in the 1990s but being 65 with disc degeneration from C3 to C7 along with my eyesight not so good anymore I needed some more capable fresh eyes on the matter with regards to the CEL & perhaps performing a smoke test & isolating a vacuum leak which was causing the Emissions system, specifically the purge circuit for the charcoal canister to fail registering with a code. I informed them that I had already ferreted it out with the TSB's & confirmed that the fuel filler neck had been replaced as per a warranty recall but that instead of a hard plastic Teflon vacuum line there was a fuel line in place which I suspect it was collapsing upon evacuation of the purge system "call". I also informed them that I had already replaced the fuel cap, the purge valve, with items from Amazon, & the dealer without the issue resolving itself. I also informed them that I had a iCarSoft along with a LAUNCH CRP, EQUUS 3140 INNOVA & an ACTRON CP9410 scanner tools & that I was able to read, clear & monitor in real time the issue with regards to the CEL. They came back & said they don't work on old cars.... Or that they quit working on cars that old a couple years ago. Which is just bullshit. If you go to their site Facebook page or otherwise, even their ad/advertisement shows a C Class, W203 car that they claim to have worked on which is exactly what my daughter's car is. They just don't want customers like me that know what they're talking about because they won't be able to take advantage of me & now they refuse to even respond to me over chat. I even gave them the chance to say just let me know that "I'm one of THOSE customers, & that you don't really wanna deal with people like me" but they're fucking cowards & therefore they're liars because they don't want to tell the truth. I wouldn't deal with liars if I were you .

I provided them with the diagnostic from Sewell, which clearly indicated that my vehicle needed a new AC condenser and both rear wheel bearings. After a week in the shop, I was informed that the AC was still not working and that my car had developed a new "screeching" noise that was not present prior to service. I later learned that instead of replacing the AC condenser, as the diagnostic indicated, they replaced the AC compressor. Great Motors then charged an additional $188 to re-diagnose the same issue, when it was their mistake that they replaced the AC compressor instead of the condenser. Their misunderstanding of the difference between these AC parts resulted in an additional hundreds of dollars!! Unfortunately, this experience left me with a car that was incorrectly repaired, unnecessary additional fees and concerns about both the accuracy of their work and accountability. While I wanted to support a local business, I cannot recommend Great Motors based on this unsatisfactory outcome.

They then helped me get the battery I needed before the end of the day. I'm humbled by their humanity, and beyond grateful for the kindness and efficiency they showed. I'll be coming back to them in the future for any of my car's needs- body or maintenance. It was entirely affordable and I felt unbelievably cared-for. I asked if he could install some new taillights that I had purchased and had the dealership quote me a ridiculous price. Lone Star repaired my damaged, installed my new taillights, and installed and wired a set of blackout reflector lights for less than what I was quoted for the taillights. The work was perfect! Amazing experience! Enterprise rental on site: When we did the drop off, the gentleman that took in our car Manny/Miguel? (My hubby is horrible with names) Was amazing! He saw that we were turning in a premium vehicle and our stature; and was like you're getting a tiny compact car. Call the Insurance adjuster and get you a better vehicle. As we called he actually jumped on the phone and talk to the insurance agent and advise them that we were turning in a premium vehicle and we should get the same in return. And so we did, that was very thoughtful And made the whole transition a lot more comfortable. The repairs: Hector (? Again my hubby is horrible with names) was amazing, called us to tell us the date of completion for the repairs and that he would keep us up-to-date on the progress. He gave us a call every few days to let us know about parts being delivered, the Current status of the repair, and all of the details of the job. It was nice to know what was happening every step of the way. The aftermath: After we picked up the car it was literally spotless clean. I was so shocked to see that the car was super clean on the outside- I think they even waxed it! The mats looked brand new overall it just looked like oh my gosh our baby is back, even our leather seats had gotten a conditioning treatment. It was funny that we actually all remarked to ourselves that we felt that we had an upgrade after riding around in the "premium rental."We actually really missed our car and we're so happy to be in it thanks to the care that was put into it.
