We have been coming to this park for years, but ever since it sold out to the new owners it has went downhill. The cost of parking is just plain ridiculous, 10.00 to park plus what you have to pay to get in, and then the cost of food is crazy too. The wave pool had a lot of debris in it, which when it was Big Surf you never even seen a leaf in the water. The employees are rude and not very helpful. The only good thing that has come with the new owners has been the new area for kids, it has a lot of slides for them. Overall I am very disappointed in this place now. read more

This is the best waterpark we have been to! We came here twice in our week vacation, it was so fun for kids and adults alike! It's clean, lots of lifeguards, and they do allow you to bring in your own water bottles which is so helpful to stay hydrated. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the park and staff. We had a blast both days! I was disappointed in many parents. This is a Christian establishment which is obvious when you get here. If you do not want to respect that, then do not come. There are other water parks in the area. Besides the Bible verses posted when you come in there is a sign explicitly stating that thong bathing suits are not allowed. Unfortunately, there were still plenty of thong bathing suits. Shame on you grown adults who feel like you need to wear that type of a swimming suit in front of hundreds of children and as a grown adult cannot follow rules. Those of you who do this are horrible role models for your own children and others. I do not blame the establishment at all, or expect the teenage staff to have to reprimand and turn away grown adults for their clothing. It's a sad state of the world when adults feel like they need to show off everything to elementary aged children. read more

A few rides were closed down, I messed up my ankle but this will forever be a cherished memory. This was our first time here. The staff/life guards were very wonderful and watched everyone in the water. Seeing my husband and son enjoying life and living in the moment then looking around and seeing everyone having that same moment in their own ways, was beautiful. Our son can't wait to go back. Was an awesome little park when it was called Big Surf, now it closes rides randomly and doesn't have enough tubes to ride with. Paid over two hundred dollars for a family of 5 and after arriving at 12:30, it closed all of the rides due to thunder for over an hour and would only give refunds it they decided to close before 3:00. Bad experience. read more

Great day of fun the way Pool was super warm for the water. Lazy river was a little bit cooler, but it was perfect as it was pretty warm today. The waterslides are super fun and the lines weren't long at all. The food is pricey but you expect that at a waterpark read more

I visited years ago and wanted to come back and have the same experience. Brought my family here. Instantly noticed they hadn't painted anything in some time. All the "life guards" are snotty little teenagers eager to blow their whistle. Lots and lots of rules in certain areas. They MUST be able to see your feet now days in the lazy river or I suppose it might flow backwards. Definitely plan on bringing your lunch as the food is really pricy and not very tasty. All in all it's alright but you might wanna keep looking. read more

I will start by saying the park is a lot of fun. While the rides seem old and could at a minimum use some paint, they all provide thrill. However, the price at $37 for an adult seems a bit steep. The concessions are quite poor and at ballpark prices making it very expensive to eat here. They do not allow water bottles and did not appear to have fountains, so in order to stay hydrated, one must purchase water. I would definitely return. read more

This water park was Very Fun, but there are some things that I should tell you about before you visit this place. 1. The workers and staff are generally very nice but this is also where my main complaint comes in. One of the workers at the lazy river seems to love telling people to make sure their feet are on top of the tube, and that was not a fun experience. 2. All of the attractions are amazing! They're super fun and exciting with the toilet bowl, half pipe, and even more super crazy yet fun slides. 3. If you want to get food I recommend bringing it in just a thing of dippin dots was $8. 4. And lastly, if you want to relax I recommend going back not the wave pool, is personally recommend that you keep the water up to about your waist as the waves get REALLY high! read more

We spent a wonderful family day here this weekend. The park is clean and they're is a lot to do for everyone. We rented a cabana and having a shaded spot made all of the difference for us. The staff is kind and very willing to help. You are not allowed to bring in outside food or drink. There are snack shops that you can purchase water, soda and snack foods from. Overall fun day. I wanted to love it, but just didn't. The life guards were mostly rude and indifferent. Struggle getting out of your tube or getting on at the top of a slide-? Too bad-they just stare at you like you're ignorant......if they're paying attention at all. The concrete was so hot it tore up everyone's feet. It wouldn't take much to hose it down to cool it down for people, and for the price, it should be expected. There's a sign to stay off the grass, yet everyone's feet were on fire. I took my flip flops down several slides because I couldn't stand walking on the paths after a ride. The rule is-feet up in the Lazy River-so you can't walk with the tube. This made it crazy slow and boring. I just don't understand why it would be so bad to walk-? There was a decent lunch area outside the gate with shade umbrellas to bring your own picnic food, which we appreciated and enjoyed. If we ever return to the area I wouldn't plan a day here again, money is definitely better spent somewhere else. I hope they can train their life guards better in the hospitality area. read more

Nice little water park. Has a few water rides, wave pool, and a lazy river. It even has a separate area for smaller kids. Friendly staff.

Disappointing experience. Very expensive for a small attraction. In light of the fact that there are parks now that let you 1. Bring in food and drink 2. Provide tubes rent free There is hardly any purpose to this attraction. If you are at all big/tall beware of the tubes which was built for average sizes only. The boys thought the rides were intense, but the lazy river and wave pools are over managed (must ride a tube in the small lazy river) can do little more than stand around in the wave pool. Guards okay. Food outrageously expensive of course. Didn't hold up in comparison to other MO watermarks (Whitewater, Schlitterbahn, Oceans of Fun). Much better experiences for the money in Osage Beach and Lake of the Ozarks. read more

We took our daughter and her friends for her birthday today. We rented a cabana right by the wave pool. The kids were in heaven going in the wave pool and tubes were provided at all the water slides. The park was clean everywhere. I was constantly seeing park staff checking for trash and cleaning. The lifeguards were great and friendly while constantly alert for the safety of the guests. The lazy river was relaxing since they make sure everyone is floating and not running around the river unlike some other water parks we have been to. We will definitely be back again. read more

Big Surf place is clean and well run. The staff is very courteous mostly high schoolers. There are five very fun slides - they are fast. The wave pool is fun for the kid and it has a nice lazy river with kid activities/slides.There is even a sand volleyball court. It's a fun spot to visit for an afternoon. They have a snack bar and serve bud light and pre-packaged frozen drinks. They give rain checks for bad weather and I'm sure other problems. Again it's a very fun, clean place for kids and big kids. read more

I loved this place. My son and I took a trip to the ozarks for a weekend and stopped her for some fun.

The worst water park I've ever been to. Everyone on duty acted like prison guards. You had to ride a tube with your feet up on the lazy river. I thought it was absurd that you couldn't even have half of your body in the water so you could at least steer the tube away from other people. We were here for less than 30 minutes and decided to leave because our 2 year old was having a tantrum that probably wasn't gonna let up. Out of respect for the lifeguards who looked irritated with my toddler and the other patrons, we decided to leave despite the almost 2 hour drive to get here and 2 hour drive back. We thought maybe we could get a refund or gift card if there was a no cash back policy because you could tell we were barely soaked, but the manager couldn't. What a waste of $76 dollars. read more

We had a great time at the park on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't really crowded so that was a bonus! Our kids (age ranges 6-11) had a great time on the slides. The raging river ended up being the family fun spot with the Zambeze being for the daredevils. It was on the expensive side and had we known before, I'd recommend not paying for tubes as they weren't necessary for any of the rides. That was a $38 dollar lesson. read more

Fun water park! This place was easy to get to and there was plenty of parking. They have a huge swim/wave pool, lovely lazy river, kids area with a pool and plenty of activities for play. Plus they have multiple rides to do. They do not allow outside food or drink in the park so plan to bring plenty of money for snacks/meals. The food is expensive. The do have picnic benches outside of the park and you could bring a packed lunch (leave in your car) and eat outside. They were multiple lounge chairs all around for you to park your towel and things. They do have lockers you can rent to put your valuables in. Ticket price seemed a bit high, but it was a fun experience. read more

We had a fantastic time. We went on a Friday and it started out cloudy so it was not as busy as I expected. We are a family of 6 and there was something for everyone. Even grandma went down the slides. We got the cabana and I'm glad because the 2 year old needed a nap. Plus I liked the privacy. We had pepperoni pizza for lunch and it fed the whole group. It was as good as any restaurant. While the attractions were a blast, the real stars are the employees. From the time we got our tickets until we left at closing time, everyone was courteous, helpful, respectful, and friendly. They really went out their way to make sure we had whatever we needed. This is the most poorly convinient aqutic center in, possibly, the whole nation. The park has dicounts and three o'clock every day and it just so happend that on this certian day, the power went out at exactly three o'clock. We were there for a birthday party. I understand that it not their problem and that they can't just magically fix the power, but this next story is the reason for another star to be taken off. When we went to ask one of the workers what happend, they said the power was out. We then asked if they had a back-up power source. The lady rudly responded, "Does it look like it"? at that point, we were done and headed on our way to Timber Falls. (A much better water park). We are unsure if we will ever return. What really stinks is that that was our first outing to Big Surf. Nice first impression, right? Overall bad place to go for service. read more

There are three really good water slides, a lazy river and a wave pool that generates 3-4 foot waves every 10 minutes. My 14 year-old son, my wife and I all had a good time. The facility was clean and the slides, restroom, deck and pool were all in good repair. The lifeguards and staff were on the friendly side of indifferent. The concession stand had everything under the sun and prices were reasonable. I would recommend it, and we would definitely go back. read more

Great place for the family! We rented a cabana and spent the entire day at the waterpark. Plenty to keep the 5 and 13 year old happy, plus the hubby too! Food is a little pricey, but you can keep a cooler in the car to cushion the cost. Staff was all friendly and everything was clean and well kept. Can't wait to go again! read more

This is a really nice place to cool up during the tough heat of the Missouri summer. Staff are perfectly nice and it's not too crowded. I do feel there is a lack of rides - you find yourself do the same, or just flow hours in the lazy river. High food prices as well. read more

I honestly LOVE Big Surf but when you spend an entire day there it gets kinda boring when you ride the same ride 50 times. I think they need more rides to keep their guests trying to decide which ride to go on next. I know that when I go to an amusement park I don't get to ride every single ride when I spend several hours there. That makes a person want to go back and ride the rides I didn't have the opportunity to ride. I'm not saying that I won't go back because I always have a great time when I go to Big Surf, but they need more rides so it keeps their guests coming back. I do enjoy going to Big Surf and always will go back. More rides will make a huge impact on the number of guests that attend Big Surf. read more
