Review for Round Trip Shuttle To and From JFK: Wait was virtually null on both legs. Shuttle to Mid-Town was bit hot, because the driver didn't have the A/C on. Shuttle to JFK was on-time to pick us up at the hotel. However, for another pick-up along the way, there was miscommunication with dispatch because the van was sent to the wrong Hilton...So all passengers on board got a free tour of Lower and Mid Town NYC. I would not go as far as recommending this service to others because of the other transportation options, but for this particular time, it was a passing grade. read more

We were arriving at Laguardia and made a reservation for pickup. When we arrived and called their #800 number (about 10-15 minutes of pickup time reserved) as instructed, their rep stated they had no shuttles available for next 4.5 hours. We made alternative arrangement. The real kicker and reason for review here is that they charged the full amount and the tip the next day on my credit card. I contacted their 800# and their only option was to open an online complaint that I did on 8/25. An automated email confirmed the complaint# and that a case manager will be contacting me. Almost 4 weeks on and no contact at all nor is the charge refunded. I've complained via my Credit Card as well so hopefully it will be sorted out. I'll always look at their competition when making my next travel plan. No time for a company that takes this long or refuses to take the complaint via their 800#. read more

I booked a return trip with Supershuttle from LAX to Ontario California in October 2019. My return was for October 8, 2019. I received a text saying that my return shuttle would be arriving and to contact the agent at LAX. Once I got off the plane I was unable to find the agent, and I contacted Super Shuttle who told me that they did not have anyone to pick me up. I had to order an Uber ride that cost me an additional $71.00 one way. I contacted Supershuttle and filed a claim for my money refund AND to be reimbursed for unexpected Uber ride. It is November 11 and I have not gotten any refund. I got an email from a Mary W. who has not returned my emails nor called me back. I contacted supershuttle last Wednesday on October 6 and the guy claimed he was setting up my refund. Today on October 11, I still have not received a refund and it's now over a month. The odd thing is that Ryan the dispatch said there were no shuttles in my neighborhood in Ontario and as I returned I saw a supershuttle driving down my street on Turner in Ontario. I booked a shuttle from Manhattan to EWR for 1:30am...at 12:30am, I got a call from a driver saying that since no one else booked a ride, that my ride is being cancelled. THANKS FOR THE F-ING NOTICE! As anyone who flies out of EWR knows, the NJ transit train is not running at that hour, so you are kinda forced to either leave super early if you want to take the train...or book a shuttle/bus. I booked the shuttle well in advance because I'm too lazy to go to the airport super early to catch the NJ Transit train...I wish they had given me the same courtesy of cancelling my shuttle in advance so that I could make alternative arrangements.  It ended up being very stressful and put a bad vibe on the beginning of our trip to Mexico. Completed self check in AND the airport called, we were told 15-20 minutes. We checked after 20 mins and the car wasn't moving so we sent a message to the driver- no response. An hour later the van from the van status map still had not moved. We called the 800 number and what do you know the van starts moving now. We are currently in the van and when I just asked the man why he didn't move or answer he said he just moves when they tell him to in an argumentative tone. Never again! The next morning, got another text, showing the shuttle location. Then another text showing the driver arriving early. Arrived at JFK within an hour from Greenwich Village, but got drop-off at the arrival terminal. Perhaps I am too Old School, but a tip is provided after service is rendered, so the amount of tip is depended on the quality of the service.That being said I put my tip, in cash, in the center console but the driver was unaware. So I was taken back by the insisted of the driver asking for a tip. I told him I did leave a tip but a language misinterpretation occurred. read more

Although I have used Supershuttle several times in Los Angeles and Washington, DC with no problems, my recent trip from JFK to Sayville, LI was a hideous experience. Making the reservation and electronically checking in once I landed was no problem. Once checked in, I was quickly assigned to a van and instructed to proceed to the Welcome Center. The van, I was informed, would be there in 15-20 minutes. The driver would come into the Center and find me. 35 minutes later I was still waiting. I asked the driver for an update. It went unanswered. I called Supershuttle and was told that the van was stuck in traffic and that there van would be there in a few minutes. I also tweeted my dilemma and made a comment on Supershuttle's Facebook page. The social media people were immediately responsive but still couldn't provide any information. There were vans with surly drivers sitting outside of the terminal. I have no idea what their use was. After an hour I received a call from the driver of a different van (he couldn't be bothered coming in to find me) and met him outside. Finding the van was a bit challenging. He wasn't discourteous; however, the van was filthy. He picked up another passenger, got in the driver's seat, took off his shoes (he drove barefoot), and we were finally our way. Three hours after checking in I made it to my destination, one that is normally an hour's drive from JFK. All of my friends, who were waiting at my destination, upon hearing this experience said, "We would never take Supershuttle." I advised my husband, who came a couple of days later, not to book with Supershuttle. His trip went much more smoothly than mine. As for the correspondence with Supershuttle, there was follow up, and I have been promised a full refund. While I appreciate this, at least where JFK is concerned, there are some serious managerial issues at play. As such, I will never book with Supershuttle again. I'd give ZERO stars if I could. I booked a private Super Shuttle van as I needed to get 8 people to the airport early morning. We were given a window of 750-805am. We all waited downstairs, and got a text 8am saying the van was delayed and would arrive 810am. I looked at the tracker link they sent and the van was in Brooklyn and I'm on the UES and there was no way it was arriving in 5 minutes. I called Super Shuttle and it took a really long 8 minutes to even get someone on the phone. She gave me the option of canceling which didn't help as I still needed to get a large group to the airport. She then assured me the driver would arrive before 830 and that my charge would be refunded due to their delay. We saw the van arriving (825am) and thought the worse was behind us. The driver arrived, and there was no apology. We hit the road. We asked him to get us to the airport as he seemed rather distracted and was driving erratically, and we had children in the van. He then proceeded to yell at us and make huffing and puffing and intimidating noises/expressions. He slammed on the break many times, and would swerve lanes erratically. It was a HORRIFIC ride and we arrived at the airport concerned we may barely make our flight. The driver drove off before we could barely get our luggage out. Well I've been trying to reach Supershuttle many times (via the contact form on their website, their phone number etc) to no avail. It's made me madder about absolutely not paying for the ride from hell. Thankfully I was able to refute the charge via my credit card. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Stay away from this company if you want lousy customer service, unclear guidelines, and vans that do not show up. I used Super Shuttle for my transportation needs when I was visiting Las Vegas last month. The reason why I chose them is because it was recommended by Travelocity, whom I used to book my vacation package. When I got out of the airport, I went to the booth, only to be told I was at the wrong door. The rep had to page the driver to pick me up, so I waited an extra 1/2 hour. After I was dropped off at my hotel, I asked the driver if I needed a ticket for my return trip; he said everything should be confirmed. On my return trip, I called the 800# to make sure all was confirmed for my hotel pickup; the recording said I was confirmed for a 7:50pm pickup. I waited at the designated hotel pick up area (after confirming with 3 hotel employees that I was at the right spot) for my driver. I spoke to the operator at 8:10 and she told me the driver was 6 minutes away because he got stuck in traffic. It was now 8:20 and still, no driver. Finally, it's 8:30 and I called to ask for an update and was told that the driver cancelled my pickup BECAUSE I DIDN'T SHOW UP!!!! WHAT???? I was livid and told the operator I wanted a full refund because this was absolutely unacceptable. I had to take a cab to the airport and thankfully, made my flight. Upon my return home, I called Super Shuttle again and was told I had to go through Travelocity to obtain my refund. When I called Travelocity, they said I had to go on the super shuttle website and fill out a refund form. It's now 3 weeks later with constant back and forth nonsense and I still have not gotten my refund and no one is willing to help me. When I got there I was told that I had to wait 60-90 minutes for my shuttle. After 60 minutes I called them again and was told the driver still had not left to pick me up! I cancelled my booking and took an Uber instead because waiting 2 hours to be picked up when I gave them my arrival time clearly is not reasonable and they clearly don't care about the inconvenience to you. When I asked for a refund they told me "no" because it was past their "24-hour cancellation policy". So essentially they'll take your money, won't / don't pick you up, you have to pay for alternative transportation, and then tell you you're not entitled to a refund because of their "cancellation policy". And judging from the consistently low rating they have on Yelp and the fact they haven't responded to complaints other people and I have made - they don't care and their level of service is not going to change any time soon... They couldn't plan a pickup route to avoid morning garbage pickup service that is very predictable. These problems caused me to be rushed at the airport. I have to say, it's probably not an easy business to run a shuttle service to the airport from New York. I have in the past had objections to the service I've gotten from SuperShuttle But I have to say, today I took a shuttle from New York to Newark airport, and the customer service from Trish in the Florida office was nothing short of amazing. I had made a mistake in my booking, and she superhumanly found me a car within 30 minutes to rescue me. I am at the airport with plenty of time to spare. In addition, the driver Joseph, was the nicest kindest most professional driver I think I have ever witnessed. He went well out of his way to accommodate the other passengers, five of which were college students going back to China. They weren't downstairs, kept us waiting, and he was patient and kind. Went out of his way to help them bring their bags from inside the building, to accommodate them. Really, I was so impressed with his service. Which is absolutely wasn't necessary This time around, SuperShuttle gets my thumbs up! read more

We were going to uws from jfk but van took us south when we got off bridge to drop off other passengers. We were last ones left. Driver was on his phone and generally rude. Didn't even get off phone when he finally dropped us off. Took over 2 hours. On top of that the feedback request SuperShuttle sent me kept malfunctioning when I gave one star not giving me opportunity to submit. It's 3:52 in the morning on February 17, 2016, and I'm literally sitting at the back of a Supershuttle van and there's a drunk woman next to me vomiting into a plastic bag. I know she's drunk because I can distinctly smell vodka and fruit juice emanating from the plastic bag. Does this company have no standards? I've taken Supershuttle multiple times and I've never had a good experience. Let's count them out: 1. I almost missed a flight out of Laguardia because the driver got lost. 2. My mom asked the driver to turn on the air because the van was stifling and she couldn't breathe. The driver mockingly said, "You can breathe because you're still alive." I submitted a complaint to Supershuttle and never heard back. 3. A drive back into the city took three hours and was perhaps the bumpiest ride I've ever paid for. Apart from that, there are some general issues with Supershuttle: 1. On average, the drivers come way too early. It's probably because your jammed in with a dozen other miserable travelers (the van I'm in is so packed that luggage is placed alongside passengers, indicating very poor planning). But they're usually not drunk and spewing vomit. 2. Supershuttle pick ups at the airport are a nightmare. Rather than have a distinct location to find, you basically wait around a small sign before an actual human can come and confirm it's a place for Supershuttle customers to wait. If you're just waiting around for half an hour for your van, consider yourself lucky. 3. The phone staff are typically unpleasant. They sound like they don't want to talk to you, and you can hear other staff members loudly chatting in the background. They mumble a lot, and get irritable if you can't understand their grumbling. I wouldn't be surprised if they hire Samuel L Jackson to yell at you through their machine operators. Now I can add "vomiting woman in van" to my list. Supershuttle is a terrible company with generally subpar service and atrocious customer service. For the shuttle price of $20, you could easily get an Uber or Lyft for less hassle, getting you to the airport more quickly, and not being picked up 4 hours before your flight. They should really rename the company "SuckerShuttle" - in a sucker for using them so many times, and I'll never do it again. I encourage all travelers to avoid Supershuttle at any cost. So, in summation, thank you, Supershuttle, for always starting my trips off on a terrible note. I wish you all the happiness that you've brought me. EDIT: in the off chance that a Suckershuttle "customer service" rep actually read this and isn't gleefully laughing at my misfortune, the van that picked me up was Van 842. And guess what? I can still smell the acrid stench of vomit! Thanks, Suckershuttle!! Also, my flight is at 7:04 AM. Suckershuttle picked me up at 3:26 AM. I'm through security at 4:19 AM. Boarding is at 6:34 AM. The shuttle never showed up and I had to call a last minute Uber for double the price. There is no phone number to contact them. The whole point to leverage super shuttle was to save money and support their service to test it as I commute to the airport quite frequently from Manhattan. A few days ago I took this home from JFK airport- Worst experience ever! First, I had to wait an hour for my pickup. After several stops (shared van) that were scattered all over manhattan and NOT IN THE SAME GENERAL AREA which is what they promise, I reached my destination-after MORE THAN TWO HOURS. Although my boyfriend had a confirmed reservation, 15 minutes after his pickup time he called and was told his reservation was lost and that he'd be reimbursed for a cab. But ultimately he was $40 out when Supershuttle reneged on its promise. Three days ago --with some trepidation--I made a Supershuttle reservation and got instant confirmation. Yesterday I got a text confirmation. This morning at 7:18AM I got email confirmation for pickup at 9:15 AM. It's a go, I thought. I read the reviews and got kind of scared to book with them but I booked for a ride to the airport (haven't tried the airport pickup service yet, will update on that) and everything went perfectly fine. I read from one review saying that the driver drove like a Formula One racer: well, I mean if you die, then the responsibility is on the company so don't worry too much, the driver knows not to kill you so just chill. I used Super Shuttle to get me from my place in Chinatown/Little Italy to La Guardia. My street was a mess so I contacted them to let the driver know the street might be closed and offered an alternative pick up point. I got a call from Super Shuttle saying that they had made a note but to keep my cell on in case the driver had problems. On the day of, I received a text advising me the driver would arrive a few minutes before my scheduled window - great since the street had not been closed yet. Omar was efficient and courteous. We had a couple of other pick ups after me and I made it to LGA with plenty of time to spare. Thanks Super Shuttle. I sent an email but didn't get a response till after I returned home. Rating TO the airport: 5/5 Rating FROM the airport: 2/5 For reference, I live in the Upper East Side and have used SuperShuttle to get to all three nearby airports. SuperShuttle is one of the most affordable ways to get to one of New York's airports. When travelling to the airport, it is a fantastic option because it is affordable, reliable, and stays on-schedule. They might pick you up very early, but they have always been on-time and they have never made me late for a flight. Thus, I wholeheartedly recommend taking it to the airport when you are not pressed for time (it can take a while to get to the airport if you are early in their route). However, when you book it to take you home from the airport, it is a mess. No matter how you book (days in advance, on my phone upon landing, and at the airport welcome counter), there is no reliability in how long you will wait before you get picked up. Sometimes they are quick and pick you up after 20min, other times you can wait well over an hour. Given that I usually pack light and don't mind taking public transit, I get frustrated by SuperShuttle because I often can make it home via public transit in less time than it takes to wait to be picked up. I would give this direction one star, but the price and service you eventually get are reasonable and what you pay for. If you want comfort or reliability, consider a cab/uber or take public transit. read more

Terrible experience and communication with this company. Upon arrival at the airport, we waited over an hour before the shuttle arrived. This was after we had submitted our arrival time three days prior. During the ride on the way into the city, the drive had a small collision with a vehicle and did not acknowledge it and kept driving. We had purchased a round trip ticket so we were stuck with this service for our ride back to the airport. Less than an hour before our pick up time, I received a text message saying that the ride would be an hour postponed, which would mean we were going to miss our flight. I called customer service and after 15 minutes of going through automated messages, I finally got to a real human to talk to. She was VERY unhelpful and did not try to accommodate the refund I requested. I asked to speak to her manager and she proceeded to put me on hold for over 30 minutes until I did not have patience to wait any longer. Terrible customer service, terrible communication. Spend the extra $20-25 dollars on an Uber/Lyft. Not worth the time wasted, especially on vacation. read more

It took over four days for a customer service person to get back to my urgent request for asisstance - kind of says it all about Supershuttle. Eventually the driver arrived. HOWEVER...not only did I wait for over an hour and a half, but further then it took more than another 2 hours to arrive at my destination.I was the last stop and the driver failed to get payment from another customer before dropping them off, necessitating going all the way back to their hotel. The wait / trip from Newark to NYC always takes an excessive amount of time but this trip was absolutely ridiculous. I "checked in" around 3:40 PM and was not delivered home until close to 8PM!!! Waited 2 hours for a car from laguardia airport. This reservation was made 2 days in advance. The customer service rep first said there was no car assigned but it would take 45 minutes. I could have hailed a cab if they were honest about the time. The driver was great but I would not recommend supershuttle to anyone. They do not respect your time. read more
