So as with most of our summer camps, I have to go by what my daughter tells me and try to glean…read morewhat's going on based on minutes of being onsite during pickups and dropoffs. Our 7-year-old was here for a week this past summer. This camp seems to have a SimCity/Lego crossover thing going on, which I can totally get behind. Every day my daughter would talk about adding new buildings and bringing home a score sheet summarizing the state of her town (population, approval rating, money in the treasury, complaints and accolades from the townspeople). I came in one morning to find some escaped criminals holding up little speech bubbles. Looking around at all the little towns, there were some seriously impressive structures. After the week I downloaded Cities: Skylines (the computer game) and am looking forward to playing it.

They seemed to really enjoy the civics nature of the building and telling me about why they had built particular structures to help their town. I was quite impressed by this camp that it turned out to be a great learning experience. I highly recommend it! I was a bit concerned when I signed up that this would be a mostly boy camp -- my daughters had some girl friends there with them and I noticed a few other girls there who we did not know. It seems like @ 30-40% girls that week, in case you are wondering. Though it didn't really make a difference as they work in small teams anyway.

She was attentive and patient and a wonderful teacher couldn't thank her enough. All the front desk receptionist were very sweet and kind. Doctor Kim was very professional and polite and would be a great person to work for. Overall I couldn't be happier with my choice of Smile Academy and I can't wait to take the skills all these wonderful people have taught me and apply it to my future career! Thank you again!

She's patient, supportive, and takes the time to make sure everyone is comfortable with what we're learning. What stands out most is her hands-on, real-world approach to teaching. She prepares us for what to expect in an actual dental office, which has really helped build my confidence. It's clear she genuinely cares about her students and their success. I'm grateful to be learning from her. The homework load was not stressful for me. Learning with the other students has been so much fun. I highly recommend this school to anyone who'd like a future in dental assisting. If you'd like to be a dental receptionist, this school teaches you all the dental terminology. It's great for both! You also get a nice pair of scrubs, and your BLS (CPR) certicate included!!! I was nervous about changing careers. After a few weeks here, my confidence for my future has skyrocketed. Thank you Smile Academy!

Lynn Kirkham's program combines neurolinguistic repatterning with other approaches in a way that gets to the root of old patterns and trauma, not just the surface symptoms. The biggest shift for me was understanding, in my body and not just intellectually, that my thoughts are simply thoughts. They can be seen differently, and once that clicks, they lose their grip. Although I've gone through many techniques to experience this, I feel that this program was the most impactful for me in that area. This program creates a space that is both skillful and deeply supportive. I'd recommend this program to anyone serious about their own growth, whether you're just starting or have been on the path for decades.

Although the course was not effective for me, others may have a different experience. I have a few key concerns regarding the program: The 98% success rate seems inaccurate based on my cohort, where the course did not work for at least three out of five participants. The course frequently encouraged participants to share past trauma in a group setting. Without licensed mental health professionals facilitating, this approach is negligent and potentially harmful, even if it offers self-reflection for beginners. The exercises focused on answering basic conversational questions rather than formal speaking techniques. This may benefit those struggling with everyday social interactions, but it did not provide meaningful public speaking practice. Ultimately, the program was not a worthwhile investment of my time, but I appreciate that the refund request was handled promptly and in good faith.
