I learnt through play and fun the basics of English, and I enjoyed those extra activities school organized to discover nearby Stanford, Palo Alto, and San Francisco area from different angles. How I missed my friends and the good times we had during those festivals, museum visits, tours... miss my host family, and the neighborhood, it was great and convenient. The attention to details and the effort put forth by teachers and the staff as a whole was also remarkable. As a person who came from a different country and culture background I was welcomed and respected with the utter most loving people. I want to thank them for helping me learn the language as a living breathing entity. I want to thank them for teaching me everything I now know about the language, and thank them for the best experience as school can give. I won't guarantee that you will be a very proficient Japanese speaker, but you will have learned a few things about the customs and culture of Japan. This Japanese school is only for 2-3 hours on Saturday mornings, so it doesn't compare even to a minor degree, to San-Iku Gakuin in San Jose or Hoshuko in San Francisco. Most of the students here are Japanese American, many, if not most, have parents who don't speak Japanese. Buuuut, if your child is between kindergarten through high school, and has an interest in learning the language, I think this is a great place to start.

He often sells out - must be good. Parking can be an issue. Often we park on the street.

He learnt several Chinese songs (with some dance moves) and English songs from the music camp, played Ukulele and went to parks to have lunch. He also got himself a playdate from the camp (he is not even 4). The best part he claimed is they have a play area downstairs that they are allowed to be bare feet and no one push him to take a nap. Because of his normal school does not allow bare feet and nap is required, he always talks about the camp now and wants to go back to the camp soon. We also attended their holiday parent's night out. It's located in an office building near the freeway and the program keep the children very safe. The teachers were fantastic and the activities are well planned. Their program tailored to different age groups and had a different theme each day. The children enjoyed variety of activities: science experiment, language art, Chinese calligraphy, food making, and many more. I took the advantage of the partnership WhizKids had with local restaurants and ordered lunch for the children. They even provided fruit/veggie infused water for the children. We are definitely going back for summer camp this year.

We'll miss Magic a lot. Magic helped our child become a real little reader. He started bringing home "level books," and now he grabs books on his own and asks for the same favorites over and over, especially Pete the Cat Goes Camping and Little Bear. It's become one of his favorite things to do. In the preschool program he loved the routine and the fun stuff, especially Thursday dance class and the monthly field trips.
