I called around for various prices and delivery charges, and while the price per cubic yard was about the same, Sequoia had a much better delivery price than anyone else. Not only that, but I was expecting to wait several days for the delivery and they asked if I wanted it delivered THAT DAY! Super nice on the phone, and very proud of their products. The young woman I spoke with on the phone assured me that I would love the soil, and so did the gentleman delivering the load. Certainly it looks fabulous, black, fluffy and with a clean, fresh smell. You can detect the odors of healthy compost and manure as well as that fresh turned dirt smell. It's got a good feel, too. I'm looking forward to using this.

The prices are competitive for the Mexican Black river rocks we were shopping for. The hot tip is if you need a cubic yard that's the best value. Any portion of the full yard requires an extra cost for the labor involved with shoveling and breaking the cubic yard set portion. We really liked they were able to deliver. It was $110 to where we live. I imagine the delivery rate depends on how far away the destination is. The person who arrived to deliver the rocks was friendly and provided great customer service. We will definitely be back to Dryscape for our landscaping needs :)

How stupid is that??? What am I supposed to do? Shovel rocks into my truck from 30 feet away? Guy absolutely sucks, ended up just wanting me to move so that he could fill some other guys truck with the shit I was already loading. No way to treat your customers. I'd find somewhere else to get your rocks.

Where would you go if you wanted 24 tons of road base material? Well, there are several - but if…read moreyou knew that Bodean prices are very competitive and the guys the carry the freight are reliable and helpful - well, you wouldn't want to look farther than Bodean. I usually order a transfer (24 tons) or two from Bodean each year from Susan - the dispatcher. She's friendly, efficient and reliable in getting me the material exactly when I want it. I live 20 minutes west of Healdsburg in the woods. When she tells me the truck will arrive at 9:00 a.m., it always arrives plus or minus 10 minutes. The guys who bring the material will dump it in a big pile where I want it, or lay it out on the road at whatever thickness I request. This saves a lot of tractor work trying to smooth out the rock. My place is at the end of the road and there are lots of trees that hang across the road. The driver took a ride with me to see if he could deliver to me. He agreed to bring material to me if certain trees were cut. These guys have very nice trucks. I always get out with the pole saw to make sure overhanging vegetation does not touch their trucks. They appreciate that and (I was surprised to learn) tell their buddies who fill in for them when they are not available. So, if you respect the drivers, good things will happen. These are local guys who see a lot of roads and know what sort of material you will need and where to put it. Yesterday I checked the major Healdsburg quarry to see how their road base material compared to the stuff from Bodean. Their price was $24/ton while Boden current price is $9.75! Oh... the particular day I choose to have my material delivered, the driver dumped the first box on the road and then went back to get the second box. He saw a tree had fallen on the power lines, broke the power pole and was doing the arc and spark dance on the pavement. He called the fire department - which required he drive his truck a significant distance to get phone reception - then went back to get the second box to deliver to me. After he got his second box, he discovered the road was closed due to the accident he reported. He waited an hour or until he delivered my material. He didn't charge the wait time to do this. Good citizen and good businessman.

All vehicles were parked on 3 separate private properties, including a huge dump truck on my property. I went to speak to a supervisor to ask why the owners were not asked about the parking. The supervisor was very polite and said he thought they had, but he wasn't sure. He offered to move the dump truck on my property and I said that was not necessary, I just thought it would have been better to notify the neighbors and I about using the properties. Then a man in a red company car pulled about twenty yards onto my neighbor's property to park in the shade. I told him he should ask first. I later found out this was the owner's son. He was rude, told me "not to worry about it" and that he "was not moving any vehicles". I repeated that I wasn't asking him to move anything, only notify the owners. He then told me twice that he "could get a lot meaner" and that I should just leave him alone. He was rude, patronizing and a bit threatening. A grown man, 40ish.
