Buyer Beware This is…read morenot a slam review full of negativity about a company trying to make an honest buck. This is me reaching out to other possible ABC customers with a simple warning about the services they're attempting to purchase: Just because a company is licensed and bonded, doesn't mean that they offer you protection for your items in the instance that they're damaged in the move. I found this out the hard way. My girlfriend made the appointment with them because they were cheap and close by. I didn't disagree with this thought process, but I failed to ask the bigger question: Do they offer insurance? The answer is no. Please do your homework when selecting a moving company. The benefits of someone else moving your items are myriad, but if you have things that are new/like-new or really valuable, you should consider spending the extra money on a company that will offer you protection for those items. Our 6 month old television was rendered utterly useless when the movers squeezed too many items into the truck and applied too much pressure to the screen side of the original packaging. When I called to make the claim, the manager/owner/whoever-he-is exclaimed that one of the movers "saw me putting it in the box incorrectly, and that's why it was broken." Two things are inherently wrong with this statement: First, if he saw me putting it in the box the wrong way, why wouldn't he warn me I was doing so? Second, the tv is curved and can only go in the box one way. It literally cannot go into the box any other way. Sal (I believe the manager's name was) only offered me $0.60/pound of damaged goods (I did some research after the fact and discovered that this is a general liability insurance mandated by the state). Which would equate to maybe $20 for a $1,000 television. It's completely unacceptable. I discovered, from my girlfriend, that she was never offered any insurance (as ABC simply does not insure moved goods), and that Sal told her "if she wanted insurance, she should have spent more money and gone somewhere else." He then proceeded to threaten her with a lawsuit if she posted a negative review of their company. This is not the proper way to run a business. It's too bad, because the movers themselves were great people. They were courteous, straight-forward, and (for the most part) efficient. A little more care on their part could have saved me a television, but I don't blame them for that. It's a $1,000 lesson for me. Just be aware of what you're getting when you sign a contract with ABC Moving. There's no insurance, which feels like carte blanche for them to damage as much of your stuff and still rake in a profit. If you don't have anything that can be easily damaged or is of real value to you, then these are the guys you want, because they actually do make short work of a large quantity of items.

I felt bad for the workers working for 4 hours so I agreed to a $100 discount, which is VERY fair considering I have damaged furniture AND A doorframe I have to replace in a brand new (never lived in) home. The workers agreed that $100 discount was more than fair considering the damages but after reaching out to the owner, he turned down my offer and suggested only a. $80 discount. The movers voiced that $80 was not enough of a discount and one of the workers actually pulled out a $20 bill to pay the other worker to call it even. I was very disappointed but left it at that. The next day I unwrap my 70 inch tv that was wrapped with my own blankets because the movers didn't bring furniture covers... my tv screen was cracked. I reached out to the owner (Duran) who is usually quick to respond when trying to get your business and he didn't respond until two days later. After letting him know the issue, he offered me $300 for an 11 month old 70 inch television. I respectfully declined because I cannot replace my tv for $300. He ignored my texts again and finally responded stating he is waiting on his business partner. I STILL haven't received a response or resolution. I am very disappointed and upset about all the money I will be dishing out. I suggest using a more expensive moving company so you can be sure that they have insurance to replace your items. I believe there is no plan to replace damaged items with this company and that's why I'm being ignored and given the run around. Very unprofessional and disappointing. Two days later Taylor and Jordan came over to prepare the items for transport. On Sunday they returned and finished up and were other way by 11am. They arrived in Bangor Maine on Wednesday came to Glenburn Maine the next morning placed the items in the house and were on their way. I couldn't have asked for a better job. They maintained their sense of humor and even helped move other items in the house to accommodate new items. This group of men are amazing. It is impossible to give a greater recommendation. Taylor was very communicative on the phone ahead of the move so we knew what to expect, and he had some good tips for us to cut down on time and costs the day of. They showed up right on time and were very efficient in loading our belongings while also taking care with them.
