Southern Exposure repainted my house and the quality of workmanship was really terrible. One of…read morethe bathrooms by the medicine cabinet and a portion of the hall ceiling wasn't even painted, but it was too late as they were long gone.... Caleb was on the job towards the end of the project. Painters didn't even use dropclothes and the tile floor still has paint white drops all over it even after they washed the floor and I've tried at least 3 times and still there are white droplets. when I questioned Caleb about not using dropcloths, his answer to me was don't worry, it's water based and will all come up when we wash the floors. Well, that idea sure didn't work. Door hinges were all painted instead of taped off, which because I had to remove one, I had a hard time. Caleb put dark brown caulkind around all the base board instead of white as he said he was matching the tile grout. Tile grout is much lighter and baseboard now looks totally out of place, which means matching grout didn't come even close. Now, onto the postive as everything on a job can't be bad so the good is the following: Bruce did fantastic workmanship. Unfortunately he only did the trim, molding, doors and clean-up Crown Molding that Caleb and Bruce installed was perfect. As a final note, after given a price from a company they do work for, Caleb came back and up the price another $2,000 as he said that's what he needed though he was on the initial walk thru and pricing..... He knew I was under the gun and only had a few weeks to complete this work. They might be good on blinds, but watch out for home repairs. Caleb is smart in the field and he'll always have an answer. Reminds me of a salesman in some ways. He has good recommendations, but also has many excuses as to why somethings came out different then you may have thought they should...........

I had a poor experience with this company because of their dishonest billing practices. Please…read morerefer to Yelp for another user who had a similar experience. Summary: they surprised bill and over billed me and their final concession was still dishonest. Something to be aware of: They charge $257/hour for maintenance work and round up in hour increments. Be very clear about the work expected to be performed and the maximum price you'll pay. I approved a work order for $875 to replace shutter motor and what I thought included the maintenance of my shutters; the price included a 15% discount the company offered due to the recent hurricane (I had to ask for a discount though) but this work order didn't include tax. I received the bill after the work was completed but the amount was for $1,355 (without tax for some reason). That's a 55% increase, which came from two hours of labor at $257/hour and a slat hanger for $50. I approved the original work order assuming maintenance was included, but I was okay paying for added labor even though the original work order didn't include any estimate for it and their hourly rate is unfairly high (my opinion on the latter). But I had an issue particularly with the two hours of labor they charged. I called the office to question the two hours of labor and pointed out that the motor installation already included an hour of work per the original invoice (see picture). They took an hour of labor off the invoice but kept an hour of labor on the bill. I asked why they would charge me for an hour of labor when the tech was there for an additional 30 minutes and they said that they bill in hour increments. I pointed out that this wasn't laid out on the original invoice and furthermore it's unethical to bill this way. They once more lowered the invoice, but instead changed the labor performed to "trip charge" for home visit repair and diagnosis (see picture) after they told me they aren't like the competitors and don't charge for home visits; further, this came after they had already agreed to come out to fix the motor, so the tech was already there and a trip charge wouldn't make sense in this context. I ended up paying the bill because the difference between what the bill should've been and what they offered was $100 different, but it took multiple emails and a call or two to get there. Extremely disappointing experience. Please find another shutter company that bills its customers fairly. AHT has poor communication skills, and their billing practices are dishonest.
