I reached out to Maximum Solutions for a 3rd Nail estimate. Alex responded and asked me if i had a wind mitigation report from when i purchased the house. I did and he reviewed it. He found that the prior wind mitigation was in error, and that the required nails were installed. He referred me to another mitigation inspector, and i was able to get the discount for the 3rd nail. I have to admire Alex's honesty, as others may have taken advantage of me. Alex was straight forward that his service would not be necessary as the required nails were already in place. Alex with Maximum Solutions (Third Nail) was brought to my attention by a client of mine while discussing high homeowners insurance rates. He had worked on their home and cut their premium by almost 40 percent. Reluctant, I decided to give them a call. From start to finish Maximum Solutions was by far my best experience dealing with contractors. I reached out to them and within minutes Patrick returned my call. He went over the process of obtaining an estimate and the potential savings by having the hurricane clips in my attic "up to code" and passing the Florida Wind Mitigation report. The original report did not have great photos, so Alex came out - inspecting my house; confirming what needed to be done for a favorable inspection. He shared the pictures he took and went over the entire process. I promised to follow up after speaking with my insurance agent. After speaking with my insurance company and learning that I would save over $1300 a year for essentially an $850 fix, it was a no brainer. I immediately scheduled to have the work done with Maximum Solutions. Kenny showed up to do the work on time. He went over the process before he started and was extremely efficient at his job. Courteous and polite as well. Patrick thereafter scheduled a new wind mitigation inspection with a local inspector. Inspecting the work, a favorable wind mitigation report was provided for submission to my insurance company. My rates were updated and reduced. Just do it! I contracted with third nail through Maximum Solutions in October 2021. Raised my roof from "toe nails" to "clips" in the wind mitigation report. the procedure took 2 hours, cost 895 cash and first year savings went from Homeowners insurance annual cost 1508 (through KIN insurance but other quotes were as high as 2485!) to annual 1046 with this simple upgrade. Will more than pay for itself by year two PLUS I have a stronger better roof attachment. But wait that's not all! They also included the new wind mitigation report in the cost! I called Maximum Solutions to get information about getting a 3rd nail installation quote. I spoke to a female, possibly Laura. I emailed her information they needed. I received an email back from Patrick Crowley President/Operations and communicated with him several times. After that I was contacted by Alex and communicated via e mail with him. He answered some of my questions, and we set up an appointment to have someone come out and give me a quote. The appointment was for Saturday May 20th 2023, between 8am and 10am. Laura was supposed to call me half an hour before anyone was going to show up. I changed my schedule and waited and waited. No one ever showed up nor have has anyone ever called. I think companies and individuals that behave in this way are the most unprofessional individuals. In the end, its just another customer and they will go on to the next one. I was very pleased with Maximum Solutions. Patrick Crowley answered my questions and gave me confidence that they could handle the job with the quote that was provided. The installer, CD, was the perfect framed man to complete the work in my attic (vaulted ceilings). The job, installation of hurricane clips, was completed on time, which took about 2.5 hours. The inspector came out the following business day to inspect the work and prepare the wind mitigation report. Beware of Maximum Solutions, aka 3rd Nail. Maximum Solutions gives a discount off their original price quote ($1500.00) if you pay in cash instead of a credit card. So, I paid in cash. This cash discount ($150.00) has no bearing on the service performed by this company. It was only a discount for paying in cash, instead of using a credit card, and nothing else. They offer this discount to all their customers. The new work contract (12 Dec 2019), stated by Maximum Solutions, and for a price of $1350.00 (cash price), states: 1)" On side with aluminum soffits they will be removed and plywood cut underneath to add nails to existing clips - put back up original soffit vents." 2) "On side with wood soffits we will cut trench and add additional nails/clips to required roof trusses then put up new 6" white deco mesh venting running parallel with the wall." 3) "Price includes New Wind Mitigation Report" ---------------------- Sentence One (1): On the day work commenced, Maximum Solutions worker Gabriel (along with Maximum Solutions Wind Mitigation company --the third party they use for their Wind Mitigation Reports-- Patek Inspections) and Chris Patek, owner/Inspector, discovered: 1- There was no plywood underneath the aluminum soffits to be cut, and 2- There was already a third nail on the existing clips. Therefore, no work was needed/or/required on this side of the home. In fact, Inspector Chris Patek took pictures of the already existing third nails on this side of home for his Wind Mitigation Report, and then left the work site. Sentence Two (2): This is for the other side of the home. This work was completed. Sentence Three (3): This was completed early on the day the work began. ------------------------ I asked the worker Gabriel for a discount for the work that was not performed/needed. He said he did not have the authority to give a discount and to call his boss. I reached out to Patrick Crowley, owner, but there was no answer, I left a message (to which I received no reply). So, Gabriel stated he could not leave unless I paid the full price of the contract, and he stated "I feel sorry for you because I did not do all the work stated on the contract", so in his kindness, Gabriel gave me a $50.00 discount. I paid the price of this contract, minus the $50.00 discount Gabriel gave, for a total of $1300.00, cash. In conclusion, Since work was not needed in Sentence One (1), I sought a $400.00 refund for that portion of the contract. I felt a customer should not have to pay the full amount ($1300.00) when only part of the work was required; and a remaining balance of $900.00 was still a fair price to pay Maximum Solutions as it only took one (1) employee eight hours to complete sentence two (2). The next day I immediately, and through the end of December 2019, reached out to the owner, Patrick Crowley, via texts, calls, and emails regarding the $400.00 discount. He only answered one text stating he will not refund any monies, along with all his woes of running a business. In addition, Patrick Crowley made no attempt to come to the home to view that work was not needed in sentence one (1) of the contract. Another email was sent to Maximum Solutions at the end of December, which again was not answered. I waited three more months, until March 2020, to give time for Patrick Crowley to reply. Since there was no reply by mid March, I contact BBB Complaint Department and filed a complaint against Maximum Solutions. The owner Patrick Crowley replied to BBB immediately and threatened me with his lawyer, said he lost money on this job (I am not understanding his reasoning because I paid him what he quoted in his contract ($1300.00) -and- he did not complete all the work), and still would not attempt to come to the home to see the work that was not required. Patrick also stated to BBB that I was getting a large monetary discount on my Home Insurance. (This is a false statement by Patrick, 1) he does not know my Home Insurance, and 2) my Home Insurance is already very low and this work only produced a savings of $50.00 a year. In addition, the -only reason- I used Maximum Solutions is that I was having a new roof installed, so, I wanted to make sure a third nail was on all the roof trusses before the new roof work began.) I invite both Patrick Crowley, along with his lawyer, to visit the home and see the work that was not required, in which I paid for, in a legally binding contract. I also have a large quantity of pictures taken that day that I would like to share with both Patrick and his lawyer.
