Lastly, we're very satisfied and worth the drive. beautiful staff with exceptional customer service. Got home in a rush just to cook the meat and it was the bomb. He said "Pues pide" which means well order. So I wondered if they had diesmillo on the bone since I saw diesmillo and I like it on the bone. He responded, "no we don't do that". So I pointed at the carne and asked what cut it was. He told me it was ranchera (there is no sign) so I asked if it was prime and he said yes. I ordered meat then asked for a couple of pounds of their advertised chicken. He mentioned there were two types, I took both and some diesmillo. The flavor is good , but the service, the way he spoke to me felt rude. Just for that I wouldn't bother to make the 20 minute drive again. This is my second time there and it seems I can't look at the meat, I'm expected to know what they have, know what I want and order. But, as they rudely tell me to order and "I'll see", they didn't even have what I wanted. What am I doing wrong? I politely said, "buenos dias" and ordered in Spanish. No one was in line after me, I don't understand the rudeness. This place is a NO for me. They are not the only carnicería. One star on customer service.

Right on Ocean Avenue, we had a beautiful ocean view and could see the Santa Monica Pier from our table. Chris, the manager, is sophisticated, kind and incredibly generous, and our server Maddy was excellent. The food was delicious. Don't miss the buttery Butcher's Bread, and definitely try the different sauces, especially the horseradish with the steak. You can tell how much time and care goes into them. They even surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake. Great food, beautiful views and true hospitality. We'll be back!

We called ahead to let the staff know we were running late and they responded with yeah that's no problem when we got there the restaurant was just about empty and we immediately knew why. On one of the most hottest days this restaurant has no central air. While the food and drinks were great, it was really hard to enjoy it being surrounded by heat. We were sitting in the middle of the restaurant so not close to where the patio is but we were all still really hot.

Everything is fresh, flavorful, and ready for the grill, which makes entertaining family and friends so much easier. This weekend we had family visiting from out of state, and one thing they always say they miss is the authentic Mexican flavors. As soon as the meat hit the grill, everyone gathered around. The aroma alone had people asking when dinner would be ready, and after the first bite, there wasn't much talking just people going back for seconds. What really stands out about Mr. Meats is the consistency. Every visit, the prepared meats are fresh, high quality, and cook up tender and juicy with incredible flavor. You can tell they care about what they're selling, and it shows in the final product. Whether you're planning a family BBQ, a birthday, or just a relaxing Sunday cookout, Mr. Meats is a place I can confidently recommend.

Everything is always top quality and the customer service is by far some of the best I have had at a butcher. Their recommendation are always on point and they even will provide you ice packs on request for your freezer bag if you are going to be doing some shopping or have a decent drive back home. I love that they are well knowledgeable about all the products and take the time if you ask to explain the differences in the meats and how they should be cooked for the best experience. If you are ever by the grove or farmers market ask for Brandon (likes to go by B) or Byron they are always willing to help and make sure you are more than satisfied with your purchase. The great thing about them is that they are father (Byron) and son (Brandon) which means they are passing down the skill set and knowledge regarding butchery and meats. If you are in the area or have the means to travel I definitely recommend supporting this establishment at least for your ultra premium, exotic, or seasonal meats.

Marconda's is a family owned and operated butcher located in Los Angeles. Established in 1941,…read moreMarconda's is the oldest standing meat market in Los Angeles, it is also the best. It is a must stop whenever you are in town. They have the best steaks you will find and they are not even famous for that, more their great chicken and other meats. Their steaks are so great and you must grill them and don't make them well done. While Puritan Poultry has been around for a while you will find none better than at this place. It just can't be beat. Although not as large as the main meat stall, don't let the size fool you. They will skin, cut, de-bone, or just about anything else on your poultry order. There are 3 generations working behind the counter. They need to business, don't let the huge markets put them out of business. They are the best. The place is so cute and boy is it clean.

Then I had to pry and figure out where he bought them. The first time I looked for the stand, I couldn't find it and gave up. The second time, I figured it out and it's to the right of the second fruit and veggie stand when you walk in (which has really good produce actually). I've bought maybe half of their stuff here. My favorites are as follows: The prime bone in ribeye is the best thing they have here. It's better than A LOT of restaurants. The cow is from California and it's all that special stuff that you want in a quality piece of meat. Next is the veal chop. Then it's the Niman ranch pork chop. After that it's the breakfast sausages, then it's the bacon. The taste on these items are absolutely insane. I think it's one of the things that got me back into cooking, because you can buy a quality restaurant tier pork chop for $12.99 a pound, and you don't have to go drop over $50 (maybe even $60 or $70 now from inflation) for the same type of pork chop at a restaurant. For the non Japanese Wagyu cuts, I personally don't like the flavor as much. But that's a personal preference. Some people love non Japanese Wagyu over prime but I don't. Anyway here's some pictures of the meat. Oh yeah the service is really good and the ambiance is nice because you're at the farmer's market! You can also ask a bunch of questions and they're all pretty much meat experts here.
