They did the job and overfilled my engine oil to the point where it damaged my rear main seal and fouled up my oil separator for the crank case. I replaced that and drained the oil to the correct level, cleaned off all the oil on my engine, and found that the rear main seal was fouled. I brought it back to the shop, spoke to the owner and his wife. They apologized and said that they would make it right. However, when they called me to let me know my truck was ready, they hit me with a $2000 bill for the repairs. The owners were not there at the time; however the issues with my vehicle should've been relayed to the staff. They held me hostage by forcing me to pay the bill, or I would not get my truck. I negotiated it at the time down to $1600; however, I should not have been responsible for the repair as they caused the damage. Furthermore, after getting my vehicle home, I decided to look over the vehicle and found that the oil fill cap was not installed. It was resting on top of my battery. My transmission dip stick tube was not secured. And my oil filter housing was installed with silicone instead of the OEM gasket. I would not recommend the shop as they do not have attention to detail, nor do they have a care for other people's property. As you can see, there are trends in poor workmanship just based off my experience. I have since tried getting in contact with the owner through text messaging, however, he just left my message on read and hasn't responded. I have contacted the North Carolina Department of Consumer Protection to resolve the issue. I would not recommend this shop to anyone as they do not stand behind their word or their work.

I wanted to write an honest review about my experience at this transmission specialist Bob and his…read moreteam at Crom. I showed up with a transmission that had been, at quite an expense to myself been rebuilt in a faulty manner which no one wanted to touch. I had been ripped off and after spending 4.2K on what was supposed to be a 'high performance' transmission from Monster Transmission I couldn't even use first gear out of the box from Monster, and had a blinking O/D light. I am about to deploy and I didn't have time to wait another 6 weeks for a turn around to send it to FL and then get MAYBE a non-defective product. Bob sat in the vehicle with me and saw the codes that I was getting and that the gear shift solenoids were shifting properly. After pulling the valve body and determining that it wasn't the valve body that was faulty, I made the decision to have him pull the transmission and rebuilt it AGAIN.  This was after I saw how many other customers had been ripped off by monster transmissions. I mean I had to REALLY dig to find it on the internet and I regretted I didn't see the reviews sooner.  What he found was absolutely unbelievable.The clutch packs which was out of tolerance of .01 x4 which was the main culprit preventing first gear from working but also a blown out valve plug a broken, deep pan bracket which he had to fabricate a fix for, corrosion on the 'replaced high performance shims', There was another section that had been installed 180degrees from Ford Specifications as well. Bob felt so bad for me after 3 days of troubleshooting and rebuilding even though he replaced all the rusted pieces and parts that they had 'replaced' at monster free of cost to me. Can you believe that Bob found that monster transmissions had put in rusted components into a transmission!? SMH for monster trans. I digress, He re-shimmed everything else back to spec and the transmission is very nice.  He had pictures and showed me in person all the replaced components as well. There was no mystery as to what he had installed and it was an honest and transparent experience.  I wish I had the sense to just have sought out Crom from the beginning! I would have been back on the road within 2 weeks with his 2 year unlimited mile warranty and not spent twice that for a piece of junk that was just painted nice! It now has positive firm shifts and it operates as it should. I don't know if I'll be re-funded by monster but I now trust Crom transmissions to rebuilt my transmissions. I know that Bob rebuilding my transmission and unraveling the problems was tough but he solved it and I'm as happy as I can be and I know that he could have charged me much more for the parts that he had to replace. he loves what he does and the whole shop was awesome to work with as well! I came out 500-800 ahead and only paid for labor.  I trust these guys they are professional and love what they do! Happy to do business with them again in the future. Now a loyal customer!

Unfortunately this event was one of those nobody likes to deal with, especially when you are a parent, trying to assist from afar. I am happy to say that it only took two friendly phone calls to get the matter resolved. No arguments, no compromising. Jimmy's just took care of it.
