The second car was a whole other story because of complicated insurance issues. My wife was hit by the semi of a shipping company at night. I gave the info to GLA and the process began. And then the insurance process hit a great big snag. The first problem was the shipping company needed to determine whether they were going to cover the claim or their driver's own insurance, based on what they were doing at the moment of impact. Were they delivering packages? Were they done for the day, off the clock, and just driving home? So that took an inordinate amount of time -- not GLA's fault, of course. Then Garrett, the Estimator at GLA, submitted everything to the insurance company the at-fault people decided would cover the claim. If that insurance company were as diligent as Garrett was in trying to move things forward, it would have been done at least a week earlier. As it stood, the insurance company didn't pay much attention to the emails Garrett sent them and dragged their feet, resulting in delays for GLA. After days of not getting needed responses from the insurance company, Garrett had had enough. He escalated the issue to the owner of all the GLA locations, they worked out a plan to force things into motion, and it worked. The parts were ordered, the work started, and I could finally relax. The mark of a great repair company is not that it does everything perfect every time because that cannot happen; reference W. Edwards Deming's Red Beads Experiment for a great example. No, the mark of a great repair company is how they respond to and manage ANY issue, regardless of whoever is actually responsible, in the damage-insurance-parts-repair ecosystem. GLA resolved problems they shouldn't have had to resolve because they were the responsibility of other companies, but they managed them anyway. GLA -- especially Garrett -- tore through the spiderweb of other people's problems and got the job done. Bottom line: I don't know how the personnel of any repair company could have done more to earn my repeat business. GLA has it.

I took my daughter's car here for an electrical issue at 8am on a Tuesday. We didn't hear from them till we called at 2pm to see if there was an update. They said there were no issues with the car and we could come pick it up. We said we wanted to leave it there overnight to make sure the issue didn't resurface, as my daughter needs the car to drive to work and I we don't want her to get stranded. No call the next morning. We called at 11am to see if it was still fine. They hadn't looked at it yet and said they would look at it now. No return call again. We called at 1pm and they said we needed an NEW ENGINE! No, not engine but a new "motor". We asked for an explanation. These are the reasons they provided. 1. They said we had no oil in the car. - My husband has been changing the oil in the car for the last 6 years. My daughter checked the oil last week. There was oil in the car. The car has NEVER not had oil. 2. There was a valve cover leak. - News to us. This was not an issue before we came here. We have never had visible oil around the oil cover. 3. A cylinder is misfiring. - This is a sign that a spark plug or the coil needs to be replaced. I don't know if they thought we didn't know anything about cars because we are women but they are definitely wrong. We immediately went up there to pick up the car. The car was still in the garage with the hood up. There was a large blue oil drain in front of our car that was supposed to bone dry. We drove away and there was a cloud of white smoke. What the heck! We came there was an electrical issue. The car has NEVER had this issue. We pulled over and drove in my car to the auto part store to pick up a quart of oil. No issues after to put oil in the car. I ran a diagnostic on the car because we have a micro mechanic diagnostic reader. NOW the car reads that there cylinder 1 is misfiring. Luckily we know how to change spark plugs and coils. After we fix the damage they did to the car, we're taking it to Hyundai to finally get the electrical looked at. A wait of money and two days of time. We are out $80 for their mandatory diagnostic fee, Vo didn't have this, the price of an emergency quart of oil and the spark plug or oil after we perform the test to see which one is having the issue. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! DO NOT GO HERE!

He never fixed what was not necessary to fix at the time and would give us a priority list with low pricing that was always honored, of what we needed to pay attention to and when we needed to bring it in for that service. He never took advantage and would even let us get our own parts without the markup and install them for labor only. He was a very fair man and will liked. I miss him greatly. I give Mr Vo 5 stars. The new guys, maybe 2 stars. I believe they have much to learn about customer service. They just don't have the passion for it that he had.

I didn't get a "sorry it took twice as long" or any kind of acknowledgment that I'd basically been lied to--twice. I will be sure to tell my co-workers & friends not to use this business if they value their time. Owner contacted me after I left the above review on their Facebook page. Owner lied to me (again) and said that the reason the patch took so long was because the plug was leaking air. I told him that IF that was true, it wouldn't matter if there's a leak or not because the plug should be removed before the patch is applied (my husband's a trained mechanic). The ladies at the front desk were kind, courteous, and made the entire process smooth from start to finish. Their professionalism set the tone for what turned out to be a very positive visit. The repair work itself was immaculate. The damage from my accident was completely restored, and my car genuinely looks brand new. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the quality of the workmanship. My only concern involves the back passenger-side window. Although my repairs were for the front passenger side, I was informed that all windows were rolled down as part of the quality check. Unfortunately, the back window couldn't be closed due to what was described as a faulty regulator. The team attempted to replace the regulator, but the window still doesn't seal all the way. This was unexpected, as all windows worked perfectly before we dropped off the car. Our dealership will be evaluating the issue and sharing their findings with us soon. Despite this hiccup, I appreciate the body shop's transparency and effort to address the concern. Overall, I would still recommend Gwinnett Place Body Shop for their excellent customer service and high-quality repair work.
