Misleading, Dishonest, and Stressful -- Beware Before Buying Here! In January 2025, my husband and I purchased a 2024 Lexus TX 500h F Sport Premium AWD (VIN# 5TDABAB69RS004225) from Superior Auto Sales, and the entire experience--from purchase to resolution--was appalling, deceitful, and incredibly stressful. Despite the listing advertising shipping, we were told last minute that the vehicle could not be shipped. At 7 months pregnant, I flew to Buffalo with my husband to complete the purchase and then drove 400 miles back home. Within days, we discovered multiple issues: a faulty dashboard, non-functional driving modes, A/C problems, missing safety features, a malfunctioning screen, and more. We were told the vehicle was under warranty, so we took it to our local Lexus dealership. After four months of ongoing troubleshooting, parts replacements, and escalations--including expert Lexus technicians being flown in--we discovered the truth: this was a Canadian vehicle with unauthorized electrical modifications made by Superior Auto Sales. These modifications were never disclosed at the time of purchase, which voided the Lexus warranty in the U.S. According to Lexus USA, only Lexus Canada might be able to service this car due to the tampering. Throughout these months, the Izzo family (Rick, Nick, and Sarah) repeatedly misled us and our local dealership, and refused to take accountability. Their communication was evasive, disrespectful, and unprofessional--often rude and defensive, even after the truth was exposed by Lexus technicians. Only after being confronted with undeniable evidence did Superior Auto Sales agree to buy back the vehicle, 5 months later...Even then, they expected us to make the return trip with a newborn and toddler in a defective vehicle --a final insult after months of wasted time, financial burden (payments, insurance), and emotional distress. To make matters worse, we have since seen this same vehicle listed again for sale, without disclosure of its Canadian origin, history of modifications, or the fact that it has no U.S. warranty. Trade in and purchase went fairly well. Was put off to find a 1/2 tank of gas when I picked it up. Though that was a little cheesy. Never got the door code, nor the key for the bed cover lock. Reached out to Rich at least 2 times regarding some suspension noises. Kept hearing that service will reach out to set something up. Still waiting. He explained to me that the vehicle should have never passed a legal inspection. The brakes pads were nonexistent. BUYERS BEWARE!!! I purchased a 1996 Porsche Turbo from this dealership through BaT earlier this year. The car was $250,000+. The experience was awful. Rick is not a man of his word and I caution anyone from dealing with him or his dealership. When I went to visit the car in person and pick it up, I found that it had a large scratch that wasn't disclosed in the auction ad. I was promised the dealership would cover the repair. When I got the car home, I found the odometer did not work properly and wasn't registering miles. I'm a car collector and buy cars all the time. I've never had a car with an odometer problem. I went to the dealer first and explained I didn't want the car. Despite telling me they sold it to cheap, they would not buy it back. I then went to BaT who was courteous enough to refund my $5000 buyers fee, which I accepted when the dealer promised to also make the odometer and paint repair. Rick agreed to these repair refunds, in writing, and said via text that he was sending me a check. After almost two months, I text him and he refused to honor his word, stating that the refund from BaT was adequate and I wasn't due the reimbursements for the paint and odometer repair ($1751 on a $250,000 purchase). Let me start by saying that you often brace yourself when going into or even calling a car dealership. You mentally prepare yourself for the "pushy salesmen"....well...not here at Superior Auto! Instead, you will get friendly people who don't try to push anything on you. They're helpful. They actually listen and they are more than accommodating. That was my experience with everyone I interacted with at Superior Auto! If I could give Superior Auto and the staff 100 stars, I would! Specifically, Aiden Masterson & Richard Izzo, both sales consultants are who you want to ask for! They are the best! Aiden went above and beyond in helping me by being completely prepared with all the answers to any of the questions I would have and for any questions he did not know the answer to (which was not many) he went to the person who could answer them and gave me their info as well! There was never a moment in which I felt pressured or unsure, as Aiden made my experience smooth and easy. I simply could not have asked for anything to have gone any better unless I was getting a vehicle for free! All of my calls were answered or returned promptly and even though they are very busy, they made me feel as if I was their top priority and my business truly mattered to them. After I made my decision as to what I wanted to buy, it was time for the often dreaded task of filling out applications and waiting for the call from someone in the business/finance department. Well, let me tell you....this was probably the most satisfying part of my experience here! At the same time, I was able to send a picture of any documentation they needed (which was not much) very quickly all while still on the phone with him so that he could make sure it was received! I just called and asked for a test drive since I live an hour away. I drove the hour to test drive the vehicle. I waited patiently since there was another test drive going. I was given the keys to look it over while the salesman said he was grabbing the plates. I waited for quite a while and the salesman finally came out, but with no plates. He asked what I thought and I expressed again that I wanted to test drive the vehicle. He then said oh let me check if you can test drive it. What? He never even asked for my license and it became clear he had no desire to let me test drive the vehicle. He then said if I wasn't willing to pay full price, then I couldn't test drive the vehicle. How an I supposed to know if I like it if I haven't even test driven the vehicle?? He literally treated me like I was a peasant and couldn't afford the car or something. By this point, I was very aggravated. I told him you low balled me on my trade in and then told me basically if I don't pay the asking price (5k over value), then I can't test drive the car. He then told me modified cars are worth more if they are German haha. I said thanks for wasting my time and got in my vehicle. He responded I didn't waste your time, which I responded yes you did...I requested a test drive, drove an hour, and you won't even let me test drive it. As I was driving away, he (Richard) called me a fucking asshole. I will admit, I responded just as vulgarly. Oddly enough, on my way home, the GM called and left a message saying he would give me more for my trade in and would be willing to drop the price on the BMW. Really? After all that? I felt compelled to write a review for this place because the negative comments here seem very disingenuous. I found a 2016 Dodge Caravan R/T they had listed on Cars.com with 42k miles and all the features we wanted at a great price ($18,900). I'm in Rochester so I called first and spoke with Allie. She was very friendly and upfront with me about the cars history (where it came from, past owners, etc). Turns out, the dealership had been using the vehicle to transport their service customers so it had an additional 2k miles than the listing showed. But without me having to ask, she knocked $700 off the price and gave me exactly what I asked for my trade-in (a 2008 caravan with so much rust you could practically see through it). Based on the reviews here on Yelp I was a bit nervous about what I might be walking into - was this a bait-n-switch? But I took the leap and drove out to Buffalo to see the vehicle for myself (with a bank check in hand). Turns out my fears were completely unwarranted. Allie was just as friendly and helpful in person as she was on the phone. She put the car up on a lift so I could fully inspect it inside & out, and gave me as much time as I needed to look it over and test drive it. It was exactly as advertised, and better - for a 4 year-old minivan (with tough northern winters) this thing was practically new. Also worth noting, the owner of the dealership, Mr. Izzo (90 years young) was there on-site. While I was waiting in the showroom he came over and introduced himself. We had a great conversation about Buffalo, Rochester, the history of the dealership, family/life, etc. Turns out Super Auto is a family run business (Allie is his grand daughter I think he said) and his sons work there too. Of course, everyone's experiences are their own, but my experience with this dealership was nothing but positive. Don't let the negative reviews here scare you away. These are good people and I'd definitely do business with them again. I just wish they had a location closer to Rochester! PS - We've driving the car home and had it for a week with no issues. I would give zero stars if I could... Sarah Fabrizio was one of the nastiest people I have ever spoke to. She handled the paperwork after we bought our jeep from out of state and was in charge of sending sent the documents to a local notary that she recommended. When she messed up the paper work, she blamed the notary (who kept all of the documents she provided on file) and then when that didn't work, she blamed me. I had to ask her to only contact me in writing after she started calling me names on the phone when discussing her mistake. Even in writing she was unprofessional and resorted to name calling, instead of just admitting the mistake and making it right. The notary (who she recommended) also said that she called and harassed them and asked me to report her. In the end, I paid the additional $120 fee to fix the problem even though she put in writing that she would take care of it. However, the worst part was that she was so ugly to everyone involved. read more

I'm never one to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience after reading other reviews. I was sold a 2013 Dodge Dart Limited with Turbo in late September of 2019 by Ally. Everything was fine when I signed the papers, but when I went to pick the car up the airbag light was on as well as the tire pressure sensor, and the Bluetooth would no longer connect. Ally herself found the issue with the blue tooth and said she would "take care of it since she found the issue". After weeks of messages, Ally seemed reluctant to return my texts and calls. When she did finally return my call it was via text message and she stated they would only cover half of the cost to repair the blue tooth issue - Little did I know this would be the least of my worries. Since I purchased this car I have had to put in 8,000$ for repairs. I had the heat go out and the blower motor had to be replaced 6 times within the first two years - and went two winters without heat. Spark Plugs, Ignition coils, Blower motor resister, blower motor module. Replaced the Battery three times, the Head Gasket, the O2 sensor (Bank 1) three times, the turbo boost hose, the radiator, the vacuum pump, the alternator, and the grill active shutter and now having issues with the hydraulic transmission pump leaking. I went to trade in the vehicle at least two summers ago. Again working with Ally, she would never get back to me regarding any information on new vehicles. She was no longer working there and I was just left hanging. I was a regular in their service department, they have gone through three service managers. Considering the situation and the fact they sold me a problematic vehicle, no shop diagnostics were ever waived. Half the time the issues were over the tech's head and they sent me down the road to Towne Dodge. They knew this vehicle had electrical problems since it left the lot. The warranty they offer through Penn Warranty Corporation is absolute garbage not to mention poor reviews and in my personal experience was awful! They covered absolutely nothing considering I purchased the gold standard. - TAKE THE TIME TO RESEARCH THE WARRANTY COMPANY - PWC Warranty This car has RUINED me financially and this will take years to recover. I'm a student, I work full-time, and take care of a disabled family member. I have every receipt and diagnostic report from multiple sources stating these claims. This was my first time purchasing a car through a dealership. I have had cheap "beater" cars my whole life that haven't even come close to the issues of the car they sold me. AFTER I'd bought a plane ticket to travel halfway across the country to make the purchase, AFTER I'd ordered a cashiers check for the purchase price, and AFTER I'd put down a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle they supposedly "discovered" the title paperwork was jacked up, they couldn't get a title and therefore couldn't sell it-- or so I was told. I believe they found a local buyer and refunded my hold fee to sell it to someone else. Purchased a 2015 jaguar xf with 33k on it. Drove it from the lot to my job ( 15 miles) and have to get it towed back to their shop after coolant leak. I then picked it up later in the week, drive it to my job and had to have it towed back to their shop for the same problem. I then picked my car up later that week. Check engine light came one with 7days of finally getting to drive my car so I took it to Jaguar dealership. 250 bucks later I find out it was simply hoses that weren't reconnected from their repair. They won't reimburse me so I'll see them in small claims court.... what a shame. read more

Terrible deceptive operation. They advertised a Class A RV with 26,000 miles on it for sale as being "absolutely like new in every way". We spoke to their sales person 3-4 times about its condition. We got a cashiers check for $150,000 in hand and drove 8.5 hours to get it. We arrived to a filthy not even close to garage kept or like-new condition. The sales guy (son of owner as I understand) then tells us "what do you expect it's 12 years old?" We responded as he and his ad stated, we expected a Class A "absolutely like-new in every way". The salesman responded ignorantly and said "Whatever! I have someone from California coming by to look at it for more money". This operation allowed us (and now someone from across the country) to travel all the way to Buffalo NY for a filthy, less than cared for RV. When I blasted them on their FB Page, their manager responds how it's not new, then states they could fix the problems in their shop, etc. Like when? While we wait? We purchased FROM SUPERIOR AUTO SALES IN HAMBURG, NEW YORK, a CONVERTIBLE BMW that they knew was missing a trim piece that seals the Convertible Top. They said they would fix it.. after 9 months of going back and forth to Hamburg they Finally got it right in July. Exhausted from the run-around about how they were bringing a BMW SPECIALIST in they managed to repeatedly VIN the wrong trim piece. At the time of purchase, before the cash was laid down, my husband brought to their attention that the Power Steering wasn't working properly. They said they would fix it. They never did. Said it was just clamps, then hoses and clamps then a new internal power steering mechanism that is "not part of the Power Steering" What?? They promised Free Lifetime Inspections..well guess what, this inspection they failed us because of an internal part of the power steering (That wasn't actually a part of the power steering, and though yesterday it was a fail---Today it was just a suggestion. that would cost over $1,500 (an estimate we got from our own shop)..Now the price was starting to look better to them, so they told us to take it to our own repair shop. Finally, after the 120 Point Inspection that they NEVER DID, there was a tire that would not hold air. They just kept moving it around the car instead of replacing it. So 1. a Convertible Top that does not seal, or go up and down right. Kinda the Point of a Convertible--but at least the Seal. 2. Power Steering that does not Steer. Required by Law...Very Dangerous. 3. Finally a Tire that does not Hold Air! Required by Law...again, very Dangerous.. Really??? 4. a Glove Compartment Button that was broken.. Not required by Law, I did not care. I could still open the Compartment According to the Owner's they spent $2,200.00 to fix this! What? We paid way over 10x the KKB Value, so of course we expected the vehicle to be in good enough condition to drive it with all 4 tires holding air, steerable with a degree of accuracy, and finally with a Roof that Sealed out the Rain and Snow. We were told that is what we were buying, But, Sadly, that is not what we got, oh no..we each got a Migraine for over 427 Days. We purchased in Oct 2016, brought it home and put it in the Garage until they could get the correct Trim piece to seal the top to the car. The only place we drove it over 14 months of blah, blah, More money Blah..was to the dealership. So, here is the bottom line..Superior Auto Sold us a Convertible that did not seal or raise and lower properly. A power steering unit that did not steer properly but they would fix it starting at around $1500 more. And a tire that does not hold air. Apparently, we were asking too much from "Superior" Auto Sales. We DO NOT live in California..We live just outside of BUFFALO, NEW YORK. You cannot drive a Convertible in the Winter here. They did not do a 120 point inspection as they say they do..not even a car wash. on Tuesday, we found our convertible on the lot Unlocked. We really wanted to respect and Trust Richard Sr as most of the runaround came from his Son. But hey, on the up side Mr Sr. said they paid over $2,200.00 to fix a broken glove compartment button. Superior Auto is a family of crooks! DO NOT TRUST THEM, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. It's been 3 months since I purchased a vehicle they considered to be in "excellent condition", I was only able to drive the car once before it completely fell apart. Concealed rust damage so bad the entire underage has to be replaced. When I took the 4runner in to the Toyota dealership they deemed the car unsafe to even drive, and valued the car at $400 when I paid $17,000. Superior Auto has offered nothing to help and told me that the warranty somehow did not cover any of the damages. I've had to spend another 4,000 on parts and still have to find a mechanic willing to take on such a large project and pay labor cost. Bought a car from Superior Auto Sales, and within 8 weeks I've had about 4-5 things go wrong with it. MAJOR things . One of the problems was that the entire computer system stopped working! THEIR mechanic told me this.... then the owner tells me his mechanic is full of crap and he was wrong!? The mechanic pulled me aside and told me "don't listen to the owners, I'm telling you this car is shot" I went to complain, and tried to exchange for another vehicle. They just didn't care. We had to speak to Andre who said he cannot help me in the least. They wouldn't even knock $1 off the price of the new car I was interested in, and offered me less than half for the car I originally bought. I expected not to get full price for the car I just bought - but I expected them to work with me. They literally sold me a lemon. The owners TOTALLY KNEW I wasn't happy and didn't do one thing to make me a happy customer. The warranty they sell is CRAP - I bought it for $1500 without looking into it, then later found out there are over 98 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. The warranty didn't cover even ONE of my car problems. No refund on that either. When I read the " fine print" ... there were no refunds on the warranty ONLY in New York State! I would absolutely NEVER do business with this place again, I absolutely HATE my car and I am going to take a loss on it and go trade it in somewhere else. If I was in customer service, I would have never let a customer leave my business being that unhappy. Follow up : I went to West Herr Ford in Hamburg and they were great . He was willing to work with me on the price of the vehicle I was interested in and my trade in value. Then for some reason he handed us over to Andre. I sincerely hope you never have to deal with Andre. He was rude from the moment we met. He wasn't willing to work with us at all and kept interrupting everything we said. He sat us down, and said we will only give you this for your car, and no we will not lower our price on our vehicle at all. He also told us that if we were his customer and not the owners he would've told us to leave because I disagreed with the value of my trade in. Update: after two weeks of calling and leaving messages for Rick, no answer yet on their response to $6600 in repair costs for the BMW that I purchased from them as good to go. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not happy with the stalling. Will see if I hear anything next week. read more

Be careful with Superior Auto Sales in Hamburg, NY. Offered car for sale online that was not as advertised. Classic car that the ad claimed to have been through complete mechanical inspection by their own service department. This car would not start when i arrived and had many electrical issues that would make the car impossible to pass inspection. I recommend you bring your own mechanic to this place. And while i didn't expect a classic car to be pristine, i did not expect it to have mouse droppings on the engine either!!! read more

Horrible service, my car sat there 4.5 months to have a transmission replaced. Charged 89/hr for labor, then still had the nerve to charge an extra $275 over the cost of the transmission they told me on phone. Will not be going back there. read more
