We were in Elkin today when our car decided to strand us in the parking lot of a strip center…read more Thinking and hoping it was only the battery, my husband walked over to O'Reilly Auto Parts which was conveniently located at the center. The assistant manager, Cody, agreed to bring the battery to our car and install it for us after he finished with another customer. In a few minutes he drove up and brought me a bottle of cold water. It was a very warm day so his thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. Cody removed the old battery and replaced it with the new one. It wasn't a quick and easy Install due to a damaged part but he was persistent and completed the job. I didn't go inside the store so I can only address the great customer service we received. What a nice young man! Based on our limited experience I highly recommend due to the exceptional customer service we received.

My daughters engagement ring was purchased here. My now SIL paid for the diamond and chose the…read moresetting. Stephanie said she would let them know when the ring was in with no mention of an additional deposit. I mean they had their diamond which had been paid for as collateral for the setting so when SIL asked if he needed to pay and was told no he didn't question it. A few weeks went by and they received a call from Stephanie asking if they wanted her to proceed with having the diamond set and if so they would need to run by and pay for the setting in full. Ok, no biggie but this was not what was originally stated. The ring gets here and it's beautiful. They then chose the guards to go on each side of the engagement ring and had to send one back since it was shaped incorrectly and didn't fit the ring. Again, things happen. Fast forward, my daughter decided to have the rings welded together to make it easier to wear. The bands were not lined up properly which caused the ring to be tighter than was comfortable. Also, the welding was shoddy and they welded over the engraving which wasn't mentioned when they were discussing (sorry but I think this should've been brought up as a possibility). Then, my daughter noticed a diamond missing from one of the bands. This happened the day after she picked up from Elkin Jewelers (she thinMy daughter then decided to take the ring to another company and the jeweler there asked who did the welding (I'm saying welding for lack of correct term). He confirmed the welding had not been done this correctly by being run across all three bands that instead it should've been between each band. They are now correcting all of the little errors to make the ring wearable (comfortably) as well as replacing the lost diamond. Also, they are replacing the engraving so hopefully my daughter will love her ring again. The cost to correct the mistakes will be $355. As we have dealt with Pat and Stephanie at Elkin Jewelers before, I expected better.

I only had a few minutes so I really just checked out house hold goods. There were a few really nice pieces that looked to be very gently used. As you would expect there's more heavily worn furniture but it fills a need. There was quite a bit of vintage pieces that had great potential for refinishing. I loved the double solid wood and glass doors for only $25 each. Now that's an amazing deal and they would look amazing refinished. There was a bin full of really nice lamp shades that looked brand new and shelf after shelf of glass ware, dishes, small appliances and just about any thing else you could think of...wheelchair, books, toys, tons of baskets, golf clubs, etc. I recommend planning to spend some time to dig through the shelves. I suspect there are many secret treasures to be found there. And...if you drive through to drop off donations, really nice folks come out and unload your truck for you.
