It reminded me of a great shop I used to visit frequently in Greensboro which is no longer in business. What a thrill to find a local shop run by ladies with a great eye for design and quality. I purchased several items which they carefully packaged for me and held them while I continued to shop other businesses in the area. I ended up with 2 large bags that would have been awkward to carry. When I was ready to leave town I stopped by and picked up my purchases. They also have a few additional items on the second floor that have significant mark downs. I'm excited to have found this great shop and plan to be a regular customer as they carry several designer lines I have not seen in this market. Definitely worth a visit.

You place your order at the bar and it's delivered to your table once it's ready. The lady working at the bar was very nice and helpful. Although the cafe was pretty busy we didn't have to wait long for our order to arrive. They offer a nice selection of sandwiches and sides. The soup of the day was pepperoni pizza soup...didn't give that one a try but it sounded intriguing. The bread used to make the sandwiches was better than most restaurants and the quality of the food was excellent. They have regular events with live performances each week inside the theater. Not just a juice or mixer with a dash of bitters either, they've put the same care into developing them that seems to go into the alcoholic cocktails. More of a beer person? Great! Merle's has a handful of NC drafts as well. My first visit to Merle's was in 2023 in April. The cocktails consumed were balanced and well concocted. The use of the space, which I remember visiting when it was an antiques shop 'back in the day', was well used and the patio area quite niece. Every time after when we would visit town my wife and I would try to make it to Merle's, unfortunately we kept lucking out! Recently I was down to help clean out my childhood home and the last day of my visit overlapped with Merle's first day open for the weekend. I decided to swing by and am so glad that I did! This boutique offers plenty of crystals & books, along with her ever expanding herbal apothecary. There's also someone offering readings often. I've never had a reading done but I do follow them on social media. Lorelei has a presence on Facebook & IG which I follow as well to keep up with the happenings & events.
