I have come to Superfine Kitchen on multiple occasions. I will spin you the story. Superfine kitchen is a simple concept, get the food you are interested in and then have the cashier warm it up for you in an oven, if you like it that way.
I have visited a few times, once I got the Mac & Cheese, Apple Pie Oat, and Braised beef. I asked for the Mac & Cheese and beef to warmed up. I went back to my office(half a block away) and the food was already cold, and was practically inedible. The outside of the food was warm but the middle barely had any heat, but I let it go and opted that maybe it just was not heated enough.
Now we get to the reason as to why I made my first yelp account, the second time I went after the first time. I returned to Superfine to give the food another go and this time got a different meal, it was the chicken katsu. Since I can see the oven and am not blind I knew that they click a few buttons and pick the time to heat up the meal. I had asked the cashier (Lady in a t-shirt, ponytail, and glasses) that if it were possible to heat up the food a little bit. A "no" would have been fine, she proceeded to spin me an entire story on how it is not possible, and that the food is just like that. She uttered the words "it is an oven not a microwave" hence why the food cannot be heated inside. Aside from her nasty attitude I did not need to be treated like I was a dunce. I can tell it is an oven not a microwave.
I never asked for me details just if it were possible to have the food heat up a bit more, again she could have just said no, all for it to still be a completely below average meal.
So what is my completion? Service is below average, it is a self-service type of place with the meals already made. It is a better "no questions asked" type of place for the customers.
The food? I mean if you enjoy gambling your lunch it is worth it, flip a coin maybe you'll hit big and have a meal that is fully warm! Or you will just receive a warm outside with a mediocre inside.
Price? Not worth it at all. This place makes you pay more than $18! This would be fine in the FiDi if it weren't for the fact that there is other spots nearby that can give you more food for less of that price! A salad from Mixt costs $12! So to say it is to be more healthy is just untrue!
Convenience? That is why this does not get a one star, because it is in fact convenient. Especially for getting smaller items such as a Chia Pudding(one of the things that actually taste good from there). read more
