I get the impression that she likes to keep up on all sorts of continuing education and likely has a good hand on lots of hairs. A few days later, I received an email that the appointment had been cancelled by the salon. On June 13, I received a text asking me to confirm. Confused, I called reception. I was told that the machine accidentally made an appointment for me on June 6, and that the staff had cancelled that one (because it was an error), and that's why I got a cancellation email. She said the machine makes mistakes often, and that I definitely wouldn't be charged for an appointment I was told was cancelled. An hour later, I received an angry voicemail from the manager, Sharon, saying that even though they had "accidentally made an appointment for me on June 6th" (her words verbatim) and then cancelled it, sending me with a cancellation email, I would be charged due to their cancellation policy. I called back and explained the situation to the receptionist, who agreed that it was ridiculous to charge me for a machine mistake. Of course I was aware of the cancellation policy, being a loyal customer. She said Sharon would call me back. She did not. I have disputed the charge. Petty and disappointing.
