After visiting five barbershops in Ukiah - four of which were not open during their posted business hours and the fifth no longer in business - I resigned myself to going to Supercuts with a heavy sigh. I walked in and was told the waiting list went out three hours, but that they could try to squeeze me in earlier. Turns out they were able to take me within a few minutes as soon as one of their staff got off her break. I've seen alot of negative review here - and I can't speak to how well they cut women's hair - but for my relatively straightforward short on the sides and a little longer on top men's cut I was very happy with the job Pauly did. And in a town where a shop's business hours seem to be more of a suggestion than anything you can remotely count on, I give this Supercuts props for being open late on Saturdays and for having Sunday hours as well. read more

The only problem is you need to park on the side of the building and walk around to get in the front door of this place. I went in there at 9:20, shortly after they opened. There was 1 employee and 1 customer. After about 10 minutes the guy tells me it will be "just a little bit" because there are some names on the waiting list already. About 15 minutes later, family of 5 comes in, all with their names on the list. The employee should have said there were FIVE names on the list and "just a little bit" is more like 1.5 hours. Updating my review - I can't believe it's been 3 years since I wrote it! Shimu is still my favorite stylist - and here are some reasons why: --she is not afraid to cut short hair --she is up-to-date on trendy looks and knows how to cut & color them --in addition to the 2 things above, if you ask her for something specific, she will do it AND -- if your hair will not do what you are asking for, she is very knowledgeable and will tell you whether a look is possible with your hair (or not) Shimu is also a lovely person, and will make you feel comfortable. I had come to Ukiah for a couple of days with my husband for some much needed r&r. I had a dinner planned this evening with my husband and a friend of ours and needed my hair done. Kaela Castaneda was my stylist today and is absolutely fantastic! Kaela let me know she's a graduate of the esteemed Paul Mitchell Studio. Having had my hair done with several stylists in San Francisco who have graduated from the Paul Mitchell program, Kaela's professionalism was top notch even within this humble Supercuts location in Ukiah, CA. I appreciated Kaela's cheerfulness, kindness and her use of cold water on my scalp as this is what I personally prefer to have done when I get my hair done anywhere! :D!!! Kaela personally took time to listen to what my needs were and went above and beyond to make my hair look great! Kaela's truly an asset to Supercuts and would be a tremendous asset to ANY SALON that has the good sense to hire her as their lead stylist. I generally used to get my haircut at Supercuts in San Diego and had a good experience. Since moving to Ukiah, the Supercuts here does not have qualified professionals. Most hair stylists are unable to use any haircut requiring scissors, and make mistakes too often. I've had to go back a few times to get a haircut corrected, and they have been nice enough to acknowledge the mistakes, however haircuts should be done right the first time. I would avoid this Supercuts until the level of qualified stylists has been met. read more

If you want your hair to look okay after two weeks then sure, go here. They must measure finger lengths in terms of kids hands. As a simple two finger length haircut left me looking like I just got a buzz cut. Hair was uneven and had this weird tuff out the back even after I showered. Bangs are completely uneven and look like a child tried to cut them. Let me put it this way. I've given myself better haircuts using some clippers and a foggy bathroom mirror. And also 20 bucks for a simple cut. I guess they have to keep in business by overcharging what little clientele they sucker into going there. The lookout for a decent haircut in Ukiah continues. One of the reasons I go to Supercuts wherever I am is the drop-in process. When I stopped in at this location yesterday, there was one client and two employees in the salon. I was told I could be seen an hour and a half later. Hmmmm. Based on this experience, and on the recent reviews I am seeing here, I will be getting my hair done elsewhere. I have been going to Supercuts in three different states for over 10 years but will not be continuing here . . . sad. I created a Yelp account just to review the Supercuts in Ukiah. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I just got my hair cut by Polly, who spent more time giving me a lecture about how to care for hair and how to create layers than actually cutting it. I decided against having her give me layers because she didn't understand what I wanted. When she was finally ready to cut it, she had me stand up and then just tried to cut it straight across! It took her literally a minute to do this -- I could have had a friend do this for free. She didn't cut it straight, so there's strands of uneven lengths. She didn't have me look in a mirror after she cut it either, so I didn't see how bad it was in the store. I tipped her $4 because she said she's a mom who works a full-time job and another half-time one, and now I am seriously regretting it! read more

I had the worst experience ever, I just can't even believe it!! Never ever go here!!! I don't even usually go to supercuts but it was a random situation and I needed my hair washed. They overcharge me and Criticized my hair coloring. The Supercuts stylist told me she could do a better job, went on about how horrible my hair was she said it was overprocessed and my stylist was doing a horrible job at coloring my hair... Do not waste your time going to Supercuts!! half of the hairdressers there, do not know what they are doing. If you are unhappy with your haircut do not waste your time complaining to the manager. He is a rude old man with no customer service skills whatsoever and has no interest in what you have to say! I had been a customer for a very long time and was very happy with the group of very knowledgeable women that used to work there but something fishy happened and all of the sudden they were all gone. Went in and was told there were people ahead so made an "appointment" for about 45 minutes later....by a "stylist" who couldn't stop eating their candy bar while talking. Decent location near 101. Friendly lady working. Brought my kid in to get a trim. Not even a full cut. Took the woman 10 mins to do it. They charge $18.75 for a kids cut while an adults is only $20. Then when I got home I noticed the woman missed a huge spot on my kids neck that I trimmed myself. I just moved back to the area and called Supercuts to see if my favorite stylist Shamu Rai is still working there and Yay!!! She is!!! I get a pixie cut which is super hard to pull off and Shamu ALWAYS gets it perfect! She really listens to how I want my hair to look and asks me questions throughout my haircut to make sure I am getting what I want. Plus she is super fun to talk to and the price is right!! Wow the nerve of #SuperCuts in ukiah !!! WOW seriously Liam (my 3 yr old who has pictures tommrow) hair is so choppy and his bangs look like a jack o lantern , and Lucas (my teen starting at the high school tommrow) looks like an overgrown Chia pet that a 2 year old got a hold of I called complained they rudely yelled NO REFUNDS come back 2 weeks I cut for free !! He likes his hair a little longer and she immidiately grabbed the clippers and took a big swipe off the back! needless to say he was upset and so was i.
