One of the most awkward encounters I had. I went in for a haircut. Wanted bangs and touch up on my layers. The hair stylist was hesitant but agreed. I was a little confused because normally (at my usual supercuts) I get my hair shampoo after the consultation but they started cutting my hair. I thought that they might do it after so didn't ask. Haircut took less than 10 mins and then they told me I was done...I specifically asked for curtain bangs but they just layered my hair. My hair in the front is slightly curly so I asked if it can be straightened so I can see actual length. The stylist told me they didn't do that and it cost too much money. A friend of mine referred me to Messi at Supercuts. She has now been cutting my hair for three years and I am 100% satisfied. I have a combination of clippers and scissors, plus thinning hair, plus a bride with very high standards :). Messi pays attention to what I want and she knows how to make that happen. Tukwila WA, went in for a simple trim.The hairstylist rushed. She cut about 3 inches off. I wanted a light bang trim.She gave me what looks like a mullet.Thankfully my bangs will grow back. Rushed,my bangs are uneven high above eyebrows.Terrible. It was $28.00. She kept saying look good right? Hell,no!! She wanted to dye my hair,no thanks. I learned from going here you need to be specific about what services you wish. They assume you want only a haircut when you might want a shampoo, blow dry and style, or even color. I have had great cuts from Messi, Lew and Tran. Prices are reasonable and not inflated. After deviating to a business in Kent filled with clutter as decor, a long wait and horrible cut, I prefer the basics in decor. Have recently not had to wait more than 5 minutes either in comparison to an 1.5 hour wait at that similarly named place in Kent. Will return for certain. read more

Lou gave me the worst haircut I've had in my entire life! This was three weeks ago and my hair still looks like crap! Do not let Lou get anywhere near your head! The only decent Supercuts that existed was on Sunset in Renton, but they closed that shop a couple of months ago. The employees didn't have the courtesy to call their longtime clients to let them know where they landed. These people do not deserve your business. Hadn't been to a place like this for a haircut in some time and forgot they don't wash or style your hair unless you expressly ask - not even a blow dry - and would have been nice for the stylist to ask about this at check-in. I wish that there was a selection for negative stars. I went to the Maple Valley location. I asked for a cute cut (I showed the "stylist" a photo). What I got is a butcher job that my 5 year old nephew could have done with a lawn mower and razor. To add to the disaster, the stylist said she was cutting it longer than the photo. Huh? This was my go to place for a haircut from 2012 to 2017 or so. It was always a 5 star experience because of Lou who, sadly, no longer works there. He would treat all his customer very well. He was very skilled and would get my haircut perfect 100% of the time. He had great customer service and was always professional. He even won my wife over with his skills so much she became a regular of his as well. I went there once or twice after he had left but it was absolutely horrible without him. He obviously brought in tons of repeat customers. I don't know the reason he left, but I'd like to think he opened his own salon or barber shop. I will never set foot in this or any " chain " haircut place because there will never be another Lou. I hope you all treated him with the respect he deserved and didn't force him away. He was good and he knew it. You lost a great asset to your buisness and likely a few consistent customers as well. read more

This hair salon literally took 5 minutes to cut my hair and gave no fu*ks !!! I walked out to check on my hair in the sun and was super disappointed!!! She Didn't only F up my hair but the lady that was after me when I came back to ask her fix it.. she gave an attitude the whole time and didn't admit that she was rushing!!! Worst haircut of my life, Tran cut my hair... I have a Kallick in the back of my head but it's just something I deal with by keeping my hair short... Tran without asking me shaved it off! My hat starts at the top of my ears and at about a 45 degree angle goes to the back of my head. She kept saying I fix for you and I eventually said please stop. I paid (and tipped) and ran out of there. I asked her if she shaved it off and SHE DENIED IT. I was trying to be polite and the blonde lady butted in and said, " It looks good! Supercuts in Tukwila Southcenter. Very unprofessional. I was told it would be 20-25 minutes. This hairdresser is so unprofessional and it has nothing to do with Covid. Yes they were understaffed. We are understaffed at my job too. All the more to bust my butt. I sat there after a long day at work with my 8 year old while one of the two hairdressers decides to stand motionless, wrapped in awe as her male client sat and talked to her. No hair cutting, nothing. They just sat and talked for ten minutes at her chair and then ten minutes more at the front desk while we sat waiting. How unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Your job is not just cutting hair, you need to attend to the waiting guests. They are obviously attracted to each other and talking about calling and texting each other. I waited 45 minutes in total. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. read more

I usually go to a salon to get my haircut because I am an elitist snob, but I didn't have time to schedule anything before this trip I am taking, so I took the plunge. This place is a joke. I took my 13 year old daughter to the salon yesterday to have them wash, blow dry, and straight iron her hair out. My daughter has long curly hair and no cutting needed to be done. I asked the lady at the front desk if she could do this and she replied yes. So she took my daughter to the bowl to wash her hair. She takes my daughter back to her station and puts product in her hair. Then she tells my daughter it will be $1 a minute for her flat ironing. Of course I hear this and tell her absolutely not and asked her why she didn't say something when we first walked in. So my daughter ended up with a wash and blow dry and the blow drying wasn't even done right. I ended up taking my daughter home to fix her hair. read more

Supercuts! I'm a fan of them for sure. I love going to Supercuts. Some people may argue that its a lot better to goto an actual stylist but I disagree. Maybe it is because the type of haircut that isn't tooo crazy but it still takes some time and care. I've had a few different stylists cut my hair at this location and they have all done it the way that I have wanted it. Another good thing is that the employees there remembered who I was and was able to greet me by my name, which is a great thing. The cost for a standard haircut isn't expensive. Nor are the additional things that you could have included with your haircut, for example a shampoo/condition & scalp massage. The wait time for people walking in is never that long when I arrive. Usually 5-10 minutes, which I don't believe is that long, but some people can be impatient. Pro-tip for those impatient people you can call ahead of time and place an appointment if wanted, or even just place your name on the waiting list to begin "waiting" before you're waiting. Over all this place is great and the stylist are awesome people and very friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

Can't wait to get back to my regular hair stylist! Due to a heavy travel schedule, I could not get in to get a haircut with my normal stylist. So I find myself in Supercuts on a Saturday. How bad can it be? I don't have to wait at all, that is good. I told the woman who cut my hair just trim it up a little. She checked with me as to how much to cut off. We agreed that she should cut off 1/2 inch. At the end, I got the shortest haircut that I have had in 20 years. If this is 1/2 inch off, then I have real problem with measurement. And it was a different cut that the one I came in with. It was like the sylist had one haircut she could do and that is what I got. The good news is that it will quickly grow out. It was frustrating to have the person who is cutting my hair spend most of the time trying to sell me product instead of focusing on the hair. read more

I went here last thursday to get a haircut after being a month late due for one. I think for a guy that doesn't shave his head, it's pretty nerve racking to find a decent hair stylist. Especially when each hair stylist's definition of hair lengths vary all the time. Anyway the lady that came in to give me a haircut did a pretty good job, and she was straight to the point and didn't bother wasting any time doing other things besides finishing my haircut. $17 for a haircut (no added taxes or fees, besides the tip that one should be leaving their stylist). I think I've seen worse. This price applies to men and women both from what i could tell. I went in on a Wednesday around 11:30am, on a cool, rainy day. There was one man being helped, one woman about finished, another woman who was finished and waiting for the other woman to be done (they were together), and myself. There were two stylists at their counters. There was a tv on the wall, playing at a reasonable level, though I imagine it would be hard to hear if the place was actually full. I only had to wait about three-five minutes from walking in until being seated at the counter. I unfortunately didn't get the name of my stylist (it might have been Kimberley), but she was very friendly and asked detailed questions about what I wanted, and gave me visuals for the length (instead of just saying "let's cut an inch here"). She was very warm and personable, and made sure I was happy with how the cut was progressing. I had brought in a photo to show the style I wanted, and overall I am happy with the comparison. I asked the bangs to be cut shorter since i will need to train them to be in that new position, so when it grows in a bit, my hair will look exactly how I wanted it, without too much spray or mousse. The stylist gave tips along the way like flat-ironing my bangs so they will behave better. And I know they probably HAVE to suggest products and try to upsell their customers, but she gave me general tips of what shampoos to look for to get body and thickness even though I didn't want to buy any from the salon. This was my first haircut in at least 2 years, and I was pleasantly surprised by the result and the salon. I will most likely come back again to get a trim in a few months, even though that's not something I usually do, because they gave me a punch card: buy 12 cuts, get the 13th free. read more

DON'T GET YOUR HAIR COLORED HERE - I went to Lou a couple weeks ago and had him color my hair - what a disaster, I went a shade lighter than my natural color and told him up front that I did not want red tint to my hair Well my hair roots were orange and the rest of my hair had a reddish orange tinge to it. When I saw it in the mirror and said something to him concerning the color he argued with me that it was the color I wanted for 10 minutes. "Really" orange. I got even more upset and asked how much I owed him and paid my 45.00 because I didn't want them to call the police and say I refused to pay. Stephanie gave me an uneven front by more than an inch difference with uneven steps in the back. Not only did my hair stylist seem very confused about everything I said to her, she proceeded to drench me in water after losing control of the faucet during my shampoo. Definitely the last time I go this location for a haircut. I've had my hair cut here for the past 2 years at least once a month. Never mind that they do not remember my name, but the attitudes and lack of attention to what the customer asks for in a cut is not worth the $25 basic cut + tip. My basic haircut today lasted, literally, 7 minutes and consisted of a rough razor cut far "higher and tighter" than I asked for and a quick scissor clip of the top and front of my hair. I was 1 of 2 customers in the store, and the stylist said nothing to me during the cut other than, "is that ok (after the fact) and, "do you want a mirror to look at it." Bad attitude, terrible disposition and frankly and quick and bad cut. I'd much rather seek out a local store owner that does not mind a little customer service, easy conversation and taking 20-30 minutes to perform a quality cut for $30-35. read more

I just got home from taking my 12 year old son here to get a hair cut. The poor kid was so upset with his haircut I had to bring out the clippers and almost shave his head to fix the damage that was done. The only reason that I did not demand that they fix it on the spot was he was almost in tears and just wanted to leave. Maybe if you would have taken the time to cut his hair instead of trying to rush him in and out (for the wash and cut it took less than 5 minutes) you could have done a decent job of actually cutting his hair instead of the total hack job that happened. I only come here to get my eye brows waxed. Every single time I show them a specific area on the top of my eyebrow near the top of my nose and say no one ever waxes that area, please make sure you do, I want my eyebrows completely shaped. Out of maybe the ten or so times I've gone there, even after saying that, no one does it. And I went tonight on 12-23 to get my eyebrows waxed before my birthday tomorrow and they said they need to order a new waxing machine and to come back next week. So I'm sitting at a different salon for double the price and I'm ok with that. I'll come back next week after the holidays for my pre holiday wax. Ok! read more

Expierance there was horrible. It is Jan 27 7:10 pm. Just finished getting my haircut and was not happy with the end result. The african american lady was in there with her kid it had seemed she was more worried about her phone and kid than cutting my hair. A simple fade is what i ask and fade looks bad. For all of this i should of cut my own her had i known she was gonna cut my hair like that. The lady seems un proffesional and not gonna come back here again . It was a waste of money and she charged me for a line up that was just my forehead. Its ridiculous . Im gonna tell people not to come here its horrible.
