No comparision to what she did to my sideburns.
Gabrielle Y.

I had a stylist (who I will not name unless asked), give me the best fringe, but the WORST sideburn job. I wanted to make sure I didn't look shaggy for my pregnancy photos and engagement photos. I asked that she clean up my sideburns. She shaved HALF of my sideburns off and made some horrifying shape that I couldn't even imagine someone could come up with. I thought maybe it was the picture I showed her of the lady's fringe I wanted...that maybe she thought I wanted the sideburns too. Nope, what she did look NOTHING like that. I looked at a past picture of my natural hairline which is far more straight down pointy, and half inch more down my face. Not to mention I went back in 5 minutes later for her to fix it (one side didn't match the other). When I went back to my car after she "fixed it", my fiance mentioned that the hair that she butchered off wasn't even fully shaved. It looked like my natural sideburns growing back after 2 minutes of leaving Supercuts. I went back in for a second time after calming down in the parking lot, and the manager cleaned it up and just said there was nothing else she could do as if I didn't know that. You can't fix jacked up sideburns that are cut ridiculously short at the most horrendous angle. She said "It'll grow back". That's great, it'd grow back in 2 hours? How about by every Thursday when I take weekly pregnancy photos. The whole point of the haircut was so I wouldn't regret what I looked like. I know it's supercuts, but I didn't think the words "clean up the sides" could be misinterpreted. Do not tell me they're just sideburns. Most pregnancy photos are taken from the side. Not sure how she got "clean up the sides" and interpreted it as "shave the ends and make this woman have sideburns that point to her nose and not the ground". HORRIFYING. I am one of those people who says "it'll always grow back"...but this, no, this is outrageous.

Can't leave the house!

Ugh! Nothing worse than looking a hairdresser straight in the face & going into extreme detail about the cut that you want & having them do the complete opposite.

Every stylist is well versed in thier trade. The place is clean, and it feels like a safe place to get a haircut.

I purchased the livingsocial.com deal for a wash, cut, blowdry. I had never been to this salon…read morebefore and I'm desperate to find a new stylist that I can be loyal to :-) I have had some scary experiences (I think a few of them are on yelp!). When I first walked in, I was a little confused. There wasn't a receptionist so I just took a seat, someone came over a few minutes later to greet me. I then waited a few more minutes and a woman came and said she was going to wash my hair and I could have a seat at the wash station. A few initial observations - this place is very small. VERY small. They are also VERY busy so all the chairs were occupied with stylist behind them making things very tight. There are two wash bowls in the middle of the salon. I sat and waited. It was a little awkward. I almost wish she had just let me wait in the seating area. I had my hair washed - very relaxing and nice and then I had to go back over to the seating area and wait for my stylist..it was only a couple of minutes. Jess was my stylist and she didn't introduce herself, I only knew her name because when I made the appointment they said it would be with Jess. So needless to say, we were off to a rocky start. I wasn't feeling super welcome or super comfortable. However, once Jess started talking to me and we had a good conversation going, it was very nice. She was very warm and I was happy feeling I was in good hands. Overall, I was happy with my hair cut. I will be back to see Jess. A few notes about the salon. It was very warm (temperature wise) in there. I was sweating..eww. Also, it's very "swampscott-ish" - meaning the other clients walk around like they own the place and I wouldn't go in there and share "what you heard last night over dinner" because I guarantee someone in there knows someone you are talking about. That would be the only reason I wouldn't go back - which is a shame because I did like my hair, I just didn't necessarily love the environment which is not really the fault of the salon. I'm not sure how you would resolve that..but if you want a good cut I would recommend Jess.
