My hair has never felt healthier.... in addition to looking better, now onto to services! Haircut: Kim is phenomenal!!! My hair looks fabulous with every cut. I've been to a few stylists in the area and after a haircut with Kim, I refuse to allow anyone else touch my hair. She is the only person who know how to texturize and cut my hair. Brazilian Blowout: Again, Kim is the BEST! I've been to a few stylists in the area (5 total) and I can honestly say, they are doing the service incorrectly. With the majority of my experiences, the blowout would fade away after 1 month... however my blowout has lasted with Kim, in addition, she conducted the procedure differently than anyone else. Her process, technique, and even the brushes she used were entirely different. This service is on the higher price scale in the area, however it lasts, and you walk out with $100 worth of products that are included. 100% worth it Dermaplane: Tess is flawless. I've had some dermaplanes that were very abrasive, however hers was thorough, non abrasive, and rejuvenating. My skin looked flawless and dewy.

She said that won't happen she does perms all the time. She booked my appointment for Wednesday. Wednesday come and she cancelled on me because she did not feel well. The receptionist scheduled me for Thursday at 245 pm. I went inscared yet excited red for my new look. She again guaranteed that I had nothing to worry about. Long story short she burned my hair it looks like a birds nest. I cried and should have known something was wrong when she walked away and had her manager find my hair. Trying to tell me that it was normal for my hair to look like it did I left she upset. They did nothing to fix it. They charged me and sent me on my way. I don't recommend going there ever. The receptionist said the charge was $20. Their website claims that children ages 0-5 are age x $2 so I was expecting to pay less than half of the price charged, which we've done before (see attached photo of pricing from their website). I understand that some stylists may charge more, but I should have been told that information when the appointment was scheduled, so that I could have made a more informed decision. I feel like that is a shady way of doing business. I think the best decision at this point would be to never refer or return to salon Avanti.

Barbara pushed her opinions and style choices repeatedly until I would give in. I do not like the top to be cut with a trimmer. I like scissor cut. I wanted the sides transition to the top more squared. I do not like a rounded buzz cut style top. I stated these preferences, only to have her opinions pushed over and over. This is my hair, I want it a certain way. She kept bringing up styling product out of no where. I felt like I was being subliminally manipulated to want hair gel. I stated I haven't used that in a decade or more. I keep it simple. Still she brought it up over and over. By the end she buzzed the top because "it would be as short as I want it" and pushed me buying product because it would "fix" the sides. She ridiculed most of my preferences and then when I gave in she proudly claimed "I know what I'm doing, you'll remember to listen to me from now on". This is one of the worst haircuts I have ever had and I'm never coming back to this location and this might be the final nail in the great clips coffin. I can manage a buzz cut on my own, I didn't want one and paid $22 for something I could have done without leaving my house. Avoid Barbara at all costs.

Kayla's work was flawless and I got exactly what I wanted. (She's been with Joseph's for 7+ years). My first and second visits went fine although little things bothered me like no designated person working the reception area to greet me and the stylist reeking of smoke. My third visit - which was my final visit - I noticed when I got into my car and looked in the mirror that the stylist left one of my sideburns far shorter than the other. What happened to showing the client the finished style in the mirror before they add product and you leave? I went back in and politely showed the stylist her error. This was clearly an inconvenience for her. She muttered something then begrudgingly evened me out WITH NO APOLOGY. I don't think for a second this particular stylist is representative of the salon as a whole; rather, I just made a bad choice. Still, because of this experience, I won't give the salon another chance. PM me if you want additional details.
