I pulled up to the place I used to go and they had an eviction notice on the door. So I asked yelp for a "hairdresser near me" and Porcelina Rae was one of the choices. "Cool name" I thought, so off I went. What a great decision. I arrived, she has chairs sitting outside, 6 ft apart. She saw me, came out, asked me what I was there for. I responded, she invited me in. Her name is Tara. She wiped off the chair and had me sit. I stayed masked the entire time, as did she. Tara asked me how I wanted my bangs done. She listened to me and cut them exactly how I wanted them. Unlike many other places I've gone before. I know what I want, it might not be what other people think is "flattering" but I'm not going for flattering. I'm going for "me".We had comfortable banter, she was done in 5 minutes and she charged me $7. $7? Yup $7. That's a deal at twice the price cuz it's perfect! Thank you Tara. Once at home I looked at the back; then, consulted with friends. In the back, the operator cut in layers that look like quarry-digging. I waited a day and washed my hair for a better look at the cut. I was past the point of the spray color working - I would need a bottle each time! When I was told yesterday that the earliest I can get in for an epidural that may or may not work is August 5th, I knew I needed to do something. So, I texted @jennasposato_ , the owner of Honey to ask her what I could do in the meantime to deal with the massive gray that was coming in and adding to my depression and frustration. Lol! She told me to come in today and she would put the color on, and I could go home to wash it out in my shower in a way that was comfortable for me. She sent me home in a shower cap, towel clipped around my shoulders to protect my shirt, and with a bag that included gloves for washing and a color removal pad for any color that happened to get on my skin. She worked quickly, acknowledging my discomfort, and I am so grateful that my roots full of gray hair are now gone! Jenna and the rest of the girls at the salon continually go above and beyond for their clients! If you are looking for a new place to get your hair done, I could not recommend this salon more! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I feel at least partly myself again!!
