I have been consistently doing so for the last year. Luz is very meticulous with her work. She makes sure that her clients not only feel comfortable, but leave happy. She won't let them get out of her chair unless they are just that. I appreciate that, since I have seen many hairstylists who don't truly care about that. They care about money and business. Luz is the complete opposite. If I am not sure what I want to do with my hair, I will tell her to just do whatever she thinks will look good because I trust her to always make me look good. If I want something a little different, she'll say ok. She never pushes me to do something I don't want to do. She gives her two cents and takes mine into consideration as well. Luz is one of the most hard-working people I know. She's also crazy, lol. I mean that in a good way. She will always know how to make you smile and laugh, even when you are having a rough day. They say a hairstylist is also like a therapist and Luz is just that. She listens to your problems and helps you reflect on them or at least she does for me. What does all of this mean? It means that you won't find another hairstylist such as Luz. You won't find somebody who is willing to charge so low for such great service. She understands quality over quantity and she understands a person's hesitation to trying a new hairstylist. I guarantee though that once you go to Luz, you will never want to go to another stylist again. Her demeanor, her personality, and her work ethic sets her aside from all others. With the majority of my experiences, the blowout would fade away after 1 month... however my blowout has lasted with Kim, in addition, she conducted the procedure differently than anyone else. Her process, technique, and even the brushes she used were entirely different. Long story short she burned my hair it looks like a birds nest. I cried and should have known something was wrong when she walked away and had her manager find my hair. Trying to tell me that it was normal for my hair to look like it did I left she upset. They did nothing to fix it. They charged me and sent me on my way. I don't recommend going there ever. The individual attention, care and pampering I receive here are some of the many reasons why I come to Luxe and are unlike any other experience that I had elsewhere. I receive color/bayalage from Alishia and cut/style from Marybeth. Alishia is an artist and truly gifted with her hair coloring/painting ability! I love that they take before, during, and after pictures of my hair! The pictures are empowering and let me see the transformation of my hair. Marybeth is extremely talented with the scissors. She always gives my hair more depth with layers to allow for volume and has consistently given me the best haircuts of my life. My hair feels and looks so healthy after my visit and lasts a very long time. The scalp massage during the wash is my absolute favorite, any tension that I feel is immediately released from my body. I live in the city and have very hard water so I always ask for the hard water treatment where you can smell the minerals/metals coming off of my hair! It leaves my hair absolutely smooth and I recommend this application to anyone with hard water. When COVID started, my appointment had to be cancelled and once the salons received the clearance to open, I received a call where the staff were accommodating each customer based on the cancellation date. I currently work in healthcare and I was nervous to go into the facility with risk that I could bring the virus home to my patients and family. The salon uses every precaution and because of the intimated boutique environment you are the one of the only clients there. The salon is sanitized after each client and you are met at the front door for hand sanitizer and temperature checks.
