Once at home I looked at the back; then, consulted with friends. In the back, the operator cut in layers that look like quarry-digging. I waited a day and washed my hair for a better look at the cut. There is no actual blending of layers in the back. My hair is flat in the back, as if there's a hole in my beautiful hair; &, the front is uneven. I will never go back to Michelle. Additionally, I have an appointment at Lords & Ladies on Monday for a repair-cut. I take no pleasure in writing this review. I gave the young operator a 2nd chance after the first foul cut months ago. Now, I'm just warning anyone who cares to listen.

I have been going to this location for years. They have my preferences on file and I go over any…read moreadjustments before they start. I know how I like my hair to look and it's my opinion. Barbara pushed her opinions and style choices repeatedly until I would give in. I do not like the top to be cut with a trimmer. I like scissor cut. I wanted the sides transition to the top more squared. I do not like a rounded buzz cut style top. I stated these preferences, only to have her opinions pushed over and over. This is my hair, I want it a certain way. She kept bringing up styling product out of no where. I felt like I was being subliminally manipulated to want hair gel. I stated I haven't used that in a decade or more. I keep it simple. Still she brought it up over and over. By the end she buzzed the top because "it would be as short as I want it" and pushed me buying product because it would "fix" the sides. She ridiculed most of my preferences and then when I gave in she proudly claimed "I know what I'm doing, you'll remember to listen to me from now on". This is one of the worst haircuts I have ever had and I'm never coming back to this location and this might be the final nail in the great clips coffin. I can manage a buzz cut on my own, I didn't want one and paid $22 for something I could have done without leaving my house. Avoid Barbara at all costs.

I asked, "aren't you supposed to rinse that off first" and she rudely said "no... it's barbicide" like yes I can read thank you. My scalp started to burn as I was sitting on the chair longer and longer. I did a quick Google and sure enough the combs are supposed to be washed off before use. I attached pictures of my Google search to prove this is not ok practice. Not to mention the comb she was using looked like it was ten years old and had broken prongs. Not sure how you can get a proper cut while using a comb that's broken. To top it all off, not once was I asked if the water was ok while she was washing my hair. I had to ask twice for her to turn the temperature down. She didn't ask if I wanted my hair blow dried and just started doing it. She didn't ask how I wanted it styled and just turned on the straightener. When I said "oh you dont need to straighten it, I don't like using heat on my hair" she got snippy and said "ok you can just follow me then." And turned the straightener off. When I was being checked out I was not asked how the service or my experience was and was basically just given the price and told me I can read the monitor. Horrible experience. Let's hope my scalp is okay and I don't need to go to the doctor!!!!

I needed to get it lightened. Dani suggested the least damaging way and most cost effective would be to have two or so rounds of highlights. We decided on caramel for the hightlights. I let her know I had to be out the door by 12:15 so I didn't care if my hair was completely dry or not when I left as long as the color and cut was done. She got it all done within the time I needed her to, she was super pleasant and friendly and kind the entire time. She dried it partially so I could see the color I looked at it quickly then ran out the door. By the time I got to work it dried entirely, and I didn't like how light some of the highlights were. I was nervous to complain due to insane hair stylists in the past, but I called and let her know "hey so the highlight placement is perfect, most of them are the perfect color, a few on the side are a little too light im so sorry to complain! " and to my absolute surprise she said in an upbeat voice " oh no don't worry about it I'd be upset if you didn't say anything and had hair you weren't happy with for two months come on in after work and I'll take care of it!" And sure enough, I went in, she took 10 minutes and made it entirely perfect all with a smile on her face! She did such a good job with the cut as well, she added texture and made it healthy without sacrificing my precious long curly crazy hair!
