Don't waste your time. The stylists are always good and the haircuts meet my needs but the time it takes to get into a chair even after checking in online takes forever. What is the point of online check-in if you have to wait an additional 45 minutes after getting there and checking in. Why are people who check in after me being seated first. There seems to be no organization to the checking process. This has happened every time I visit this location. Save yourself some time and find a different place for a haircut. read more

I'm from metro Seattle, where Supercuts typically only rate a three star "A-OK", and sometimes only a two star "Meh". That's why I normally take a fairly long drive to a place where I get the same stylist every time. But I didn't get a chance to get a haircut back home, I'm in New England to visit the in-laws and celebrate our tenth anniversary, and everyone in downtown Portsmouth was booked up for days. I decided to settle for a suburban Supercuts instead of setting for nasty pandemic hair that would likely appear in numerous travel photos. My wife made a reservation -- by phone, not a squirrelly on-line reservation site -- and we drove to the Supercuts. I was greeted by a cheerful young stylist with pink hair who was doing double duty as greeter and stylist. (She later told me that her mother helped with the coloring, and her grandmother has blue hair, so cool hair colors run in the family.) She showed me to her station and started the usual procedures. I asked for a cut that was a bit longer than I would have asked for at the usual place, so it would be easy to fix when I get home, if I got a "Meh" haircut. But she did a great job, exactly what I asked for. There was one significant mishap during the cut: she cut her finger. She was a bit off her rhythm when she returned with the bandaged finger, but got back on task after taking a moment to regain her composure. The haircut may have taken a bit longer due to the pause, but I wasn't in a hurry and there wasn't another customer waiting, so no problem. Given the mishap, I would have given her a break on the review if the cut had been flawed, but it was just fine. Conversation was pleasant and varied. At some point I mentioned something about metro Seattle Supercuts franchises. (They don't seem to offer very good pay or benefits, and it shows in turnover.) She said that the owner of her location (and thirty-some others in the area) was really good to employees, including benefits better than typical for hair stylists. Sounds like they're better around here. Coming from Seattle, where practically everyone is still masked in public (as of July 2021), it was a bit weird that the stylist was not masked. But that seems to be standard in New England, so no points off for that. Besides, I was the only customer there (even though I would have expected a Friday to be busy), and both she and I are vaccinated, so it wasn't like a crowded biker bar some place where an awful new variant is raging. The worst thing about the whole haircut expedition was that it was pouring rain, and the flood waters in the parking lot drowned my feet. I should have worn my boots! If I happen to need a haircut in New England again, I wouldn't hesitate to return. Note: I wrote this review in 2021, just over a year ago. Alisha my stylist was AWESOME... but the place was incredibly understaffed. I put an online reservation in for 1045 and didn't get seated until 1130. This was not the staff's fault - there was no one to work the desk so anytime someone walked in a stylist had to stop what they were doing to greet them or answer the phone. Alisha had to stop cutting my hear three times (no fault of hers). This is not the first time this has happened to me there so I feel confident that the ownership is not staffing correctly, especially on President's day when many people are catching up on stuff they needed to do. read more

Every one looks great it was quick everyone was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Worst hair cut experience in the past 10 years. Called ahead, they made it sound like they were ready for me. No mention of a wait. Show up and I'm told to just sit. Bo big deal so far. But this is the most well staffed hair cut establishment I've seen in a long time. Customers kept getting up from chairs, but the cleanup process each stylist went through was exceptionally slow, and each of them had a glazed over look in their eye like they'd rather be anywhere else. No hurry like they're at work, one girl was at least happy to stop her hair cut and answer the phone (that's how they got me), but other than that there was no action at all. After waiting and watching for 20 minutes I decided I'd rather give my money to anyone else to cut my hair. read more

Do NOT Get Your Hair Cut At This Salon! I came in with several photos of exactly how I wanted my sons hair cut. I talked through the photos showing how I wanted his hair left long on top and faded over the ears on the sides. She said she understood and before I realized she went at my son with a raiser- I immediately stopped her and reminded her of the fact I wanted the hair left long on top and faded on the sides but not too short- she said she understood and got out the scissors and immediately cut 4 inches off the top- there was no going back. She had to make it match and he looked like a shorn sheep when she was done. It was awful! Hair dressers should listen to what clients want- not what THEY want to do. My son came in with beautiful very long hair and left upset looking terrible. The short cut he ended up with wasn't even cut evenly. I had to clean it up at home. Beware! read more

If you're in need of having your locks shorn, you can go here. Whilst you can pay more at other salons, you don't get a better outcome. Believe me - I've done more modeling and photoshoots than you. Shawna is top-notch, and they sell a substantial line of products. There are certainly product lines which cost more, but again, there's not a correlation between price and quality or performance. Don't want to wait in long lines? Then don't show up on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and expect to waltz right to a hairdresser's chair. These would be the two days that all parents and kids are off, so that's universal haircut day. Call ahead if you need to, but avoid the app, which is a faulty digital sham. read more

So I haven't been to Supercuts in maybe 10 years I have a regular stylist I go to usually but I just didn't have the time for that and botched my own hair cut / am growing it out from it being shaved on the sides .. my stylist that I had today was AMAZING she knew what she was doing was super nice and I could talk to her like we were old friends! She fixed my hair no problem and I got to leave feeling confident in my hair again (which I haven't been in months) I only regret not asking her name so I could request her next time/ praise her more. read more

Went in on a whim and asked the guy at the front how long the wait was going to be. He said about 45 minutes, and puts my name down. I ask him if I can leave and come back a little before the 45 minutes is up and he says ok. So I do a little shopping at Burlington coat factory which is next door. Come back with 10 minutes to spare. Turns out that 45 minute wait became a 1.5 hour long wait. Asked for long layers and the girl worked on my hair for about 20 minutes before blatantly telling me that she had "given up" on cutting my hair like that because my hair was so long. She gave a really lame excuse and said that my hair would look better if she left it like that. It looked ok for the first couple days after the cut, before I had thoroughly washed and dried my hair. Now when I leave my hair straight you can see a VERY obvious horizontal line from the short layer and the rest of my long hair she had given up in cutting layers on. Thanks for giving me the very long version of a 2000's mom who asks for the manager haircut to a 19 year old. You get what you pay for I guess. Lesson learned. read more

I am beyond upset and I will NEVER recommend her to anyone and will let everyone know how bad of a job she does. I don't usually do stuff like this. But this is someones hair. My Husband got a very straightforward fade and it really got jacked up; he was really unhappy and just shaved it off to grow out again. While he was getting his hair cut I thought I would just get a quick trim on my bangs, she really didn't do a horrible job but it was a bit as though she thought faster was better and could have taken a little more time to make sure it was done well, I wouldn't go back. The girls were really quite nice and accommodating so it's unfortunate. read more

I came to Supercuts today (3/10/20) with high hopes for a quality haircut, and unfortunately received the opposite. I came in the store at 3:50, the counter woman told me to come back at 4:15, and when I returned from Wendy's at 4:15 I had to wait another 25 minutes to be seen. I can't remember the woman's name who cut my hair but she was a big sized woman with shiny red hair. About 5 minutes into the haircut I made a comment that I was impressed with how fast she was working. She responded, "been doin it a long time... and it's my birthday so I want to get out of here before 5:00." I mean what kind of fucking hobos are you hiring here!? This lady is babbling to me about getting drunk with her stupid friends and I'm forced to sit here as her captive fucking audience. She gives me my receipt at 4:49, I still have it with the time stamp, that's a 9 minute haircut!!!!!!!!Got home and looked in the mirror to see tubby had not only fucked my edges up but cut a little, but noticeable, bald spot in the back of my head. I have gone to Supercuts several times and found their work more than just acceptable. Yesterday I stopped in for a haircut at about 4:00 PM. Not busy and I was next. Not more than ten minutes the gal at the register said. So, the "stylist" was just finishing her customer in ten minutes so it was worth the wait. She finished and her client came to the register and paid, then they proceeded to visit for over a half and hour. I left, unshorn, and will not be back. Seems when they see a customer waiting, the should get on with work and chat on the phone later if they are good friends. read more
