He understands Asian hair and how to lift it to a beautiful blond without looking brassy. I have bounced around to different Fort Lauderdale salons after moving here 5 years ago and couldn't quite find a perfect fit with the dozen or so places I have tried out. I wanted an easy low maintenance blond (yes I know, no such thing with blond), and Tomy came through. I came in with three layers of color- dark roots about 2 inches long, bleached muddy blond through the middle and orange ends. It was a disaster grow out. I had a consult with Markie for blonde highlights and to blend in my roots but since Markie couldn't do highlights at the moment, she deferred me to Tomy. I didn't know I was in for a treat. I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!

I have been very displeased with my recent experiences with getting my hair cut so I figured why not give it a try. I'm very picky and i usually don't like to experiment with random hairstylist. I explained that I had just found the salon on Google, and that I wanted to know if they could recommend a stylist that would be comfortable with cutting my type of hair texture. The receptionist immediately said she had the perfect person for the job. I thought to myself can I really trust this or is she just trying to pass me on to someone because they're available... let me tell you, that wasn't the case at all. The Hairstylist by the name of Leyla comes over and introduces herself. She was very welcoming and gave me a consultation on the spot. I found that she was very knowledgeable and intentional so I decided to move forward with getting my hair cut. Mind you she was correcting a haircut that went wrong by a previous Stylist. I showed her an image of what I was going for and she executed the style perfectly! This experienced by far exceeded my expectation and I now have a new Stylist! I highly recommend Leyla !

On Wednesday, I had my roots touched up with a single-process color. When I got home, it was obvious that the color was uneven, with one section noticeably darker than the rest. I called the salon on Thursday and explained the issue. At that time, I was told it would be corrected as a complimentary service. When I arrived Saturday, the colorist acknowledged the color difference as did both owners. The owner, Joel, told the colorist it was because she did not pull the color through my hair enough to blend it. However, then I was informed that I would have to pay $100 for a toner to fix a mistake that was not mine. I was shocked I was being asked to pay to fix a color error. I have had this happen in the past at other salons and it has always been fixed without an issue. As someone who has supported this salon for years, I expected much better customer service. Mistakes can happen, but how a business handles them is what matters. Instead of honoring what I had been told and correcting the uneven color, I was asked to pay more to fix their work. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and undervalued as a longtime customer. Unfortunately, because the salon would not correct the issue without charging me, I now have to purchase color and fix it myself at home. I sincerely hope Salon Council reconsiders how they treat loyal customers when a service does not turn out as expected.

Been going to BS HairShop for almost four years. I lived about an hour away but by a friend's…read morerecommendation I decided it was worth the drive. John Peter and RJ were in a rented salon room that just barely fit two stylist chairs and a hair wash station. My friend and I would carpool for about an hour and cram in together for Saturday morning appointments. Saturday mornings were always and still a blast with the BS HairShop's welcoming and genuine staff. Their complimentary bellinis and mimosas definitely don't hurt. At first, I had virgin dirty blonde hair and after my first incredible haircut I decided to go back for my first hair dye - a balayage. I was super nervous... John and RJ have both done an incredible job of answering all my questions and educating me on everything from color and treatments to products and styling. It came out LIKE A DREAM. Since then, I've only trusted John with my hair. I was still in college and lived pretty far so only saw them when I could afford it and could drive up. (Once a year, if I was lucky) Post-graduation, I happened to get a job in Broward and found an apartment a five minute drive from their new location. (Total coincidence, but boy am I grateful!) Now I'm able to get Olaplex treatments regularly and have noticed such an improvement in my hair. Their new location is GORGEOUS and spacious and they have many more stylist and washing stations. Their new additional staff members are just as helpful, knowledgeable, and fun! I turned my boyfriend onto their expertise and he had his first haircut in four years and first blow dry EVER right before my best friend's wedding!! Now he's a loyal customer, regularly going for Olaplex treatments. His hair looks and feels so amazing and he truly seems way more confident! A few weeks ago I got sick of my blonde hair and decided to give brown a try. John made sure I knew what I was getting myself into and only applied a semi-permanent dye a few levels darker to avoid damage and make sure it'd be easier if I didn't completely love it. Well, I LOVED it. He said if it faded and I wanted it darker he'd go a level darker. Clear and transparent, always!! He was right, and now I wanna go darker. Honestly, I'm one of those "do whatever you want" clients who has no idea what she wants and hopes it turns out well. Luckily, every time I've done that with John it has turned out AMAZING. When I want something new, he has me find pictures that best match what I'm thinking of. Both him and RJ have thorough consultations with me and other clients to make sure everyone's happy and on the same page. After all this time, he truly knows how to match my hair in shape and color to my skin tone. He understands my style and low maintenance hair habits and makes sure whatever he does will match. They take SO much pride in their salon and their #1 priority is truly the health of their clients' hair. All these clients ranting and raving are genuine af. I'm sure I've written reviews in the past but I wanna make sure they don't go anywhere cause idk what I'd do! Enjoy the pictures of my hair history!

Alright are you looking to just get the job done or are you looking to get it done right?…read more Are you looking to be a part of a salon whom you can go to for all your hair needs--a one stop shop? Well ladies and gentlemen...this is it. I've waiting some time to post this review so that I can have several experiences to speak from. 1- Called for a color, haircut and blow-dry a few months ago. RJ gave me the low down on how they work. Main goal--hair health. How refreshing right? They are more invested in my hair than even me. They will not operate unless the hair is healthy. I came in she inspected my hair and prescribed the following: cut off all my dead dried brassy orange hair and 3 oloplexes prior to dye day. That day I received a great haircut and one of the best blowdrys everrr. I felt so glamorous. 2- Dye day-- this women took her timeeee. She painted my hair yall with every stroke she was patient and percise. I was none the less very happy with my new hair color. Of course, concerned with the health of my hair I had another round of oloplexes and Shanece (their apprentice) does a great job of doing as well as recommending great products and things to do with your hair at home to keep it healthy and beautiful. Ps. I only like when Shanece does my oloplexes. And it may seem like a simple job but I think you need to be good at product placement and letting me know what's the status of my hair and what it's lacking. Thank you Shanece. 3- Availability/booking-- making appointments is a one of a kind experience here. We text and we call. RJ is so amazing at this. There have been times where I need to get in or need to make a last minute appt and we will go back and forth with our schedules until it's done and she doesn't even seem phased by it. Who does that?? She will make sure she makes it happen and that does not go unnoticed. BS hairshop cares. They care about their clients, they care about hair and they care about outcomes. Im about that life. More-- they also tools and products for purchase. Bought my amazing brushes from here. Furthermore more they offer blow dry classes! Which I am going to book very soon. The fact that they educate their clients is very important to me as well. This has become the one stop hair salon for me and I think you should consider it too. You won't be disappointed.

She kept cutting me off mid sentence, didn't let me explain myself, and rushed me the entire time, all while I was simply trying to say that I had been calling for the past two days with no answer. When I asked about Nelson, she told me he was on vacation, again cutting me off and being completely unprofessional in her tone. I finally told her she was being rude and asked to speak with someone else, specifically Maria, who I knew was part of the team. The conversation with Maria was at least more polite and respectful. She listened, explained that Nelson was out, and took my number. However, when I asked who Monica was, she told me that Monica was also one of the owners. I explained how disrespectful Monica had been, and rather than apologizing, Maria tried to excuse her behavior by saying they were having a tough day and that the computer system was down. She even said she was sitting next to Monica during the call and that it "wasn't that bad." Let me be very clear...I felt ignored, dismissed, and completely undervalued as a potential customer. Justifying rude behavior because you're having a bad day is not acceptable, especially not from a business owner. Maria's response essentially condoned Monica's unprofessionalism. It was shocking. I told them to delete my number and that I would not be visiting the salon...ever. And I absolutely would NOT recommend this place to anyone. If this is how they treat people over the phone, I can only imagine what the in-person experience might be like. Terrible, unprofessional, and disappointing. Avoid Salon 184.

After returning home from traveling abroad, I came to Jigsaw based on recommendations by my mom and extremely picky aunt. I figured if my aunt liked this place, it must be worth a try. It turns out pretty much my entire family get their hair cut by Suzanne, so I requested her too. I gotta say, her hands are incredibly talented! I don't know know how to describe what I want even if someone handed me a dictionary so I showed her some pictures that I got off of Google. The results were way better than I had expected! Sometimes what you see in pictures don't exactly fit your head shape, etc, but Suzanne can work it so that fits you. That's real talent! I should also mention that I have severe psoriasis on my scalp and some hair salons shy away from cutting my hair, afraid that they might hurt me. Suzanne has a ton of experience and the staff here are super gentle when shampooing so it doesn't hurt me at all. They even took the time to ask questions and use the correct shampoos. On my second time back, I took my hair way short because I'm getting ready to film YouTube videos about my psoriasis issues. Suzanne was cutting my mom's hair so her husband cut mine. These two must be a power couple because man, the dude is amazing! I wasn't worried at all that this is the first time he's cutting my hair.
