My friend and I would carpool for about an hour and cram in together for Saturday morning appointments. Saturday mornings were always and still a blast with the BS HairShop's welcoming and genuine staff. Their complimentary bellinis and mimosas definitely don't hurt. At first, I had virgin dirty blonde hair and after my first incredible haircut I decided to go back for my first hair dye - a balayage. I was super nervous... John and RJ have both done an incredible job of answering all my questions and educating me on everything from color and treatments to products and styling. It came out LIKE A DREAM. Since then, I've only trusted John with my hair. I was still in college and lived pretty far so only saw them when I could afford it and could drive up. Well, I LOVED it. He said if it faded and I wanted it darker he'd go a level darker. Clear and transparent, always!! He was right, and now I wanna go darker. Honestly, I'm one of those "do whatever you want" clients who has no idea what she wants and hopes it turns out well. Luckily, every time I've done that with John it has turned out AMAZING. When I want something new, he has me find pictures that best match what I'm thinking of. Both him and RJ have thorough consultations with me and other clients to make sure everyone's happy and on the same page. After all this time, he truly knows how to match my hair in shape and color to my skin tone. He understands my style and low maintenance hair habits and makes sure whatever he does will match. They take SO much pride in their salon and their #1 priority is truly the health of their clients' hair. All these clients ranting and raving are genuine af. She kept cutting me off mid sentence, didn't let me explain myself, and rushed me the entire time, all while I was simply trying to say that I had been calling for the past two days with no answer. When I asked about Nelson, she told me he was on vacation, again cutting me off and being completely unprofessional in her tone. I finally told her she was being rude and asked to speak with someone else, specifically Maria, who I knew was part of the team. The conversation with Maria was at least more polite and respectful. She listened, explained that Nelson was out, and took my number. However, when I asked who Monica was, she told me that Monica was also one of the owners. I explained how disrespectful Monica had been, and rather than apologizing, Maria tried to excuse her behavior by saying they were having a tough day and that the computer system was down. She even said she was sitting next to Monica during the call and that it "wasn't that bad." Let me be very clear...I felt ignored, dismissed, and completely undervalued as a potential customer. Justifying rude behavior because you're having a bad day is not acceptable, especially not from a business owner. Maria's response essentially condoned Monica's unprofessionalism. It was shocking. I told them to delete my number and that I would not be visiting the salon...ever. And I absolutely would NOT recommend this place to anyone. After returning home from traveling abroad, I came to Jigsaw based on recommendations by my mom and extremely picky aunt. I figured if my aunt liked this place, it must be worth a try. It turns out pretty much my entire family get their hair cut by Suzanne, so I requested her too. I gotta say, her hands are incredibly talented! I don't know know how to describe what I want even if someone handed me a dictionary so I showed her some pictures that I got off of Google. The results were way better than I had expected! Sometimes what you see in pictures don't exactly fit your head shape, etc, but Suzanne can work it so that fits you. That's real talent! I should also mention that I have severe psoriasis on my scalp and some hair salons shy away from cutting my hair, afraid that they might hurt me. Suzanne has a ton of experience and the staff here are super gentle when shampooing so it doesn't hurt me at all. They even took the time to ask questions and use the correct shampoos.
