The absolute worst service. Emily is extremely rude from the moment you walk in. You can tell she dislikes her job and if it was up to me, she wouldn't have one. I had an appointment for 6pm which I will post 2 photos of text messages I received. She told me Super cuts does not send out messages and she also told me I don't have an appointment on her end. I tried to show her the messages she wouldn't even look. She then proceeded to tell me the number I called wasn't there number. I completely understand that there are policies in place and that there may be other clients ahead. That part wasn't the issue. What was frustrating was the lack of empathy and basic customer service at the front desk. I was already there in person with my child, and instead of being offered help or guidance, I was simply told I could only book online or by phone without any explanation or attempt to assist. No alternatives were offered, not even help booking online while I was there. Policies are one thing, but how they're communicated matters. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which is disappointing for a business that relies on customer experience. A little patience and empathy would have gone a long way. Worst customer service. Run to any other salon. Came in for a quick trim. Just wanted to cut the ends of my hair. When I entered there was only one stylist she asked me to return after 45 minutes. So I made an appointment and went next door to coffee bean. Sat around waiting for my turn then as the time neared I got a text saying my appointment was canceled because I didn't show up when it wasn't even the time she told me to return. When I walked over asking why my appointment was canceled no one knew what to say. They asked me to continue waiting with no apologies and they just kept accepting other patrons before me. Wasting my time. I'm actually glad it didn't work out because I wouldn't want to tip someone who doesn't value customer service. Supercuts needs to do better and hire competent people. read more

I've been coming to this specific location for years and the staff has always been professional and welcoming. I took my son into get a haircut after school on 8/15. I came here last week for a haircut by Vanessa. This is the second time in a row that I had a bad experience with her. The first time was a couple months ago, when I made an appointment with her and she ended up triple booking clients that day. She tried to tell me to wait, but the place was full and I should not have to wait if I made an appointment so I left. I am assuming the lady that answered the phone booked customers and Vanessa also had her own customers booked that contacted her personally. The second time and most recent, was a week ago when I came in to get my haircut. From the start, she seemed like she was in a bad mood. She did not do a good job with the haircut and it looked nothing like what I asked for. She was rude, and seemed like she rushed the haircut. It was not busy that day, so I don't get why she rushed it. She also made rude comments about my hair and scalp, which were uncalled for. Seems like there have been a couple of bad reviews for her recently, so I am not the only one to experience this. The fact that she is the manager, makes this even worse. Every time I go here I usually get a metal number three clipper all around so when she started to use a plastic number for I asked her why and she said that they don't make metal clippers in number four. I received a call from them at 11am asking if I can come in at 3pm or 4pm because they stop doing color at 5pm apparently and I explained that I cannot because I work until 5 and that is why I scheduled for 5:15pm. I also explained that all I wanted was ONE all over color (black) and a small trim and that shouldn't take a lot of time. NOT LIKE I'M ASKING FOR A FULL HEAD OF HIGHLIGHTS AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE I WOULD NOT BE GOING TO SUPERCUTS IF THAT WAS THE CASE. The girl said ok and she will fix my appointment. I leave for vacation on Monday and was looking forward to getting my hair done all day. I checked in on their app for a 5:15pm appointment two days prior, showed up there right at 5:15pm and was rudely turned away BY THE SAME GIRL WHO CALLED ME because she claims I was "late" and they no longer do color past 5pm arguing with me in front of two other customers sitting in the lobby. So disgusting and unprofessional. I walked out and I hope she was embarrassed with her nasty attitude towards me. WHY IS IT AN OPTION FOR THAT TYPE OF SERVICE ON YOUR APP AT THAT SPECIFIC TIME?! I haven't been to Supercuts in over 20 years and now I remember why. I went in on Sunday morning just to have it cleaned up around the edges as I had an event to go to. Not even a full haircut. Lady put my name in and I waited a few minutes perfectly fine. I was called by an angry Hispanic lady who seemed annoyed from the jump. I told her what I wanted just cleaned up around the edges a little trim. She ran through it so fast I thought I was gonna lose an ear. When it was done, it was still a little bulky in the back and I kind of just wanted to send out the hair. When I told her what I wanted, she seemed extremely annoyed because it was gonna take her five more seconds. She did it without a smile on her face. And when she ask, is that good I just said that's fine because I just want to leave at that point. Even the other customer saw my face how shocked that was, and they obviously noticed too. I asked her if she was bothered by my request and then she tried to play it off like she was just trying to help me get a good haircut. The only good thing is she charged me for just a neck trim opposed to a whole haircut which I would've gladly paid for without any hesitation if the service wasn't horrible. I was in such a hurry to get out of there. I didn't get her name. But she was the first chair next to the register on Sunday morning 2/23. Safe to say I will never be back here. Management do yourself a favor and check your stylist. If they're that rude and nasty and don't wanna deal with people they shouldn't work in an environment that serves people. read more

I went to Supercuts in Northridge on 8/15/22. I had called ahead for an appointment with Vanessa at 3:30pm. When I arrived, the room was full of customers, so I assumed my haircut may be delayed. I was answering text messages on my phone for about 10 minutes while the room cleared out. There was one lady waiting ahead of me, so the stylist (Nancy) approached her to say that she had time to cut her hair. Nancy had just added hair color to a previous client of hers, and thought that while the color was sinking in, she could help this lady who was waiting ahead of me. This lady turned down Nancy's offer, so I assumed she was just there waiting for her boyfriend who was already seated in a chair getting his haircut. Moments later I see this lady at the counter talking to Vanessa. It looks as if she was upset that no one was attending her. Didn't Nancy just offer to cut her hair moments ago? Nancy approached the counter to help defuse the situation, and Vanessa offered the lady a discount for her troubles. The lady subsequently left the salon and Vanessa was able to cut my hair. Although my haircut was delayed because of a misunderstanding between the stylists and this lady waiting ahead of me; both Nancy and Vanessa did an excellent job in remedying the grievance, and quickly cutting my hair. I've never written a Yelp review before but this experience was so disappointing that I had to. I called ahead and asked if they had availability for 2 people at 3pm. I was told they did and gave both my and my boyfriend's names. We arrived at 3:01pm and checked in using both our names, with a young stylist with long, sleek black hair at the register. We waited a few minutes and my boyfriend was taken in by another young stylist with blonde hair. A few more minutes pass and a mom and her preteen daughter walked in. The stylist with black hair had gone to continue working on her client and a 3rd stylist went up to the register and checked out the client she'd just finished. She then asked the mom who'd walked in what her name was. The mother kindly mentioned that I'd been waiting first, but the stylist said something I couldn't quite hear b/c she wasn't speaking to me. She said something like "she's waiting for her/him" and gestured behind her. I thought she meant one of the other stylists that maybe was almost done with their client and was slotted to take me next. I didn't think that made sense when she was available but didn't think it was a big deal so didn't say anything. The 3rd stylist asked for the mom's info as she confirmed she didn't have an appt and started cutting her daughter's hair. I kept waiting and saw the stylist with the black hair took her client and started coloring her hair - definitely not almost done! The 3rd stylist was almost done with the preteen client's cut by the time the stylist with black hair finally said she could take me (she still wasn't done with her original client either). I told her nevermind because by then it was definitely past 3:30p, if not 3:40p. When the 3rd stylist checked out her client I finally spoke to her and asked if the client she'd just had was a walk-in. She first asked which client, then confirmed that she believed she was. I let the stylist know I was confused as to why a walk-in was taken before me when I'd called in to be seen at 3p. She then proceeded to give several explanations/excuses. She said she didn't know I had an appt and thought I was just waiting for my boyfriend. I said I'd checked us both in. She said the system didn't show anyone was waiting and she didn't check us in so she doesn't know what happened. I let her know that the stylist with the black her checked us in, who was right behind her. That stylist just confirmed she checked us both in and they didn't know what happened. I asked if there was a system error. The 3rd stylist didn't seem to want to confirm anything. She at some point asked how she was supposed to know I was waiting for a cut when I was sitting there quietly and didn't say anything. That's what checking in is for? She also claimed that she did call my name at some point and I didn't say anything. That's definitely inaccurate since I was sitting in the waiting area, facing the register the whole time, and she never spoke to me directly before then. And both instances can't be true. Did she not see me checked in, or did she call my name? She even gave the example of going to the dr's for an appt and not getting seen right at your scheduled time. I said yeah, but that happens because prior appts run long, not because walk-ins are taken before appts. She kept saying they could service me then but that she can't turn back time, she can only apologize and I need to understand her side too. What kind of non-apology is that? I asked how can I get my haircut now and pay the same price, when I've been waiting more than half an hour after my appt? Only then did she offer a discount. I asked how much the cut would be after the discount. She said it'd be $2 off. Look, I wasn't expecting much, but at least a genuine apology. Maybe the stylist with black hair accidentally only checked in my boyfriend and not me, or maybe the system did glitch. But just say a genuine sorry and take accountability. But to say "you've got to understand me too, there's nothing I can do" and then offer $2 off? I finally left and told my boyfriend I'd wait for him at the CoffeeBean next door. My boyfriend came not long after and said his stylist apologized to him for the 3rd stylist continuing to talk about me to a customer that had come in shortly before our exchange. Apparently this 3rd stylist was the manager and told this customer, "How am I supposed to cut hair when I'm angry too?" And she apologized to THAT customer for him having to wait during our exchange. To top it all off, when my boyfriend went to pay for his cut with his stylist, the manager went up to him and gave him 2 coupons. One was for $2 off a haircut and one was for a free haircut, and she told my boyfriend to give them to me. So she was literally too petty to give me the coupons directly. read more
