I used to stop here for my simple A-line short haircut and style that I paid about $25 plus tip. Today, I get there, wait 15 minutes before being acknowledged. The stylist makes up something about costing me more to style with a round brush with my short haircut and quotes me $50. My jaw dropped and I looked at their price chart...said $23 for wash, cut, blow dry extra styling was $11 ok $34--where's $50 coming from? I asked her if she was serious or just didn't want my business? She was serious. I told her sorry, I'm not paying $50 for my simple cut and dry and left. Ridiculous. read more

This place is right around the corner from my work and every time I come in the ladies working are friendly, funny, and fast. I'm always in and out within 30 minutes. The lady I had today, Linh, was incredibly friendly and made the hair cut fun. Will be a regular of this shop as long as I work in the area! UPDATE: 8/17 Came in and was out within 15 minutes. Did not like this place at all. This shops first language isn't English, This means that there was huge language barrier between the employees and all of the customers. They never got my name right while I was there and openly talked in only Vietnamese to one another and didn't care for me. This was rude and didn't make me feel like they valued me as a client at all. The wait took a while, they got me in 15 mins after my appointment and then didn't really take care of me at all. My stylist didn't seem to know what she was doing. She seemed scared and really nervous to cut my hair, which made me feel uneasy. She actually asked me to slouch down in my chair, instead of just adjusting the chair height itself. Ended up cutting far too much off and didn't do a very good job. For 20 bucks, they treated me awfully. Not happy with the service or the hair cut. read more

I came to this Supercuts today on my lunch break... I was sitting at work lamenting over my split ends and decided today was the day. On this Saturday afternoon I only waited about 5 minutes to be seated. I showed the stylist a picture and instead of just nodding and making my hair look nothing like the picture, she took the time to discuss the picture with me to decide what would work best with my hair. I appreciate that. I explained that I was on my lunch break and she quickly conditioned and cut my hair, she even blew my bangs out (they curl up) for no extra charge. It was a wonderful experience and I definitely plan on going back here in the future. Now about the actual service. About 2 months ago I got a haircut and color here. Service was solid and stylist was extremely careful to not get the hair color on my face at all. I was impressed. The problem is I returned for color again this week and had a totally different experience...sloppy, careless, lacking concern for getting hair dye on my face. "It will come off with thus (some kind of solvent) applied directly on my face, hairline, neck, around ears, basically everywhere she should not have applied dye. "Go home and it will come off with makeup remover." What? It's your job to keep the shit off my face, not my job to figure out how to remove it. Now my face and neck have a rash from the chemicals you applied to my skin and didn't bother washing off for me. You got my return business from the first visit. You lost it forever from the second. Too bad because it's close to my office and would have been convenient. read more

I have been coming here for over a year now and I love this place. It's a super cut at a super price. For guys, this place is easy in, easy out. Just call the same day you want a haircut, make an appointment with your favorite stylist, show up, get a great haircut just the way you want it and you're out in 20 mins. I never write yelp reviews but this is just to corroborate the other negative reviews, this place did a poor job cutting my hair. I'm a 21 yo college student so obviously I get the cut short on the sides but long and styled on top like every other 20-something male. The cut was super uneven and I was left with weird medium-length hairs near my hairline that made me look like I was 10 years old. I just want to say thank you to Nunu. I went to this place for the first time after getting my hair ruined at another barber shop by a guy there who left my one whole side uncut and uneven. So I went here to help fix the mess and met Nunu who I explained what happened and she was able to save my haircut. Not only she was able to fix it and make it look even better. I was absolutely mortified when my daughter came home from her hair cut yesterday. She went to get her bangs trimmed yesterday and came back with the stubbiest, most uneven bangs I have ever seen. They are literally to the top of her forehead and incredibly jagged. She doesn't remember the stylist's name, but she was about 40, dark hair and Hispanic. Her stylist never apologized for messing up her bangs (which she cut wet, mistake #1). Just because you receive a younger client does not give you any right to do a half ass job. She immediately pinned her bangs up after the stylist cut them, and all the stylist did was laugh nervously. No apology or acknowledgement of the horrible result. My daughter is in high school and of course cried of embarrassment when she got home. Hair is a huge part of someone's identity and you have royally screwed hers up for at least a couple months. I find it ridiculous that she was still expected to pay for someone ruining her hair. You should absolutely not be doing hair for a living if this is the results you produce. Please either properly train your staff or get better stylists. We will never be returning and I will be telling everyone to stay clear of this business. read more

The lady was talking in vietnamisse with other while cuting my hair all the time, plus she got very upsate because I aksed her for rinse my hair after having a hot towel, she tried to change me extra $2 dollars for that. While i waited, all i saw coming in were men. I became concerened because there were no women there and the lady said that most of their clientelle is male. I came in on a Saturday and they took me right away. The service was great and fast. Samina helped me. I was nervous because I went in the with long hair looking for a complete shorter cut and she did such a great job. She knew I was nervous and walked me step by step as well as made sure I was liking the progress as it was happening. I definitely recommend this location. Ugh. My mom was constantly complaining about my hair that it was too long, to everywhere, and so she makes me go to the closest ( and cheapest ) hair dresser near the house. The gentlemen that gave me a haircut basically disregarded any thing I had to say about my hair, and now my hair has probably lost four or five inches, on every side. It kind of looks like a bowl cut. Ugh. If you want a Type 1, Type 2 , or Type 3 hair cut, then go here. For anything different then the "status quo" and you screwed. read more

Some people are nice, but if you get the wrong stylist they are incredibly RUDE and try to rush you. Make sure you get someone that has a decent demeanor and willing to work with you on what you want. Otherwise, they are most interested in turning customers and not in courteous service or a good cut. You leave pissed off, with a bad cut. read more

I have never had a more terrible hair cut. I do not reccomend this store. i went in to get a simple trim on my hair (which was down to my tail bone) and asked the stylist to round the edges in a soft V-line to avoid the boxy look. She beggins the trim, asks me "is this okay?" (she shows me about 2 inches of cut hair). I tell her to please cut another inch off. I ended up with the sides of my hair just past my shoulders and the back being significantly shorter than my instructed 3-inch cut, with an extremely long chunk in the centre resembling that of a rat tail. The cut was uneven and choppy, i am completely embarassed of it. Never have i had such an unskilled haircut. I bit my tongue and ran out as fast as i could. I will NEVER return. I went here last Sunday and it was a horrible experience. I went here instead of 17th St Costa Mesa because they can't seem to get my cut right although at least their cuts look good. Now I look like Mo of the Three Stooges. The receipt says the stylist was Amy. The way she cut my hair was so haphazard I was worried. I had a picture I wanted her to follow and the cut didn't resemble it at all. She cut all the hair in front of my ears so I look like I have a bowl cut. The bangs were all over the place and the sides weren't even. I tried to direct her but that didn't work. She could tell I was upset so I paid and she talked in another language to her manager in front of me, obviously talking about me. I was pissed to say the least but I didn't say anything to them. I just wanted to see it in the mirror at home. When I did get home, my fears were confirmed. I was going to go back to ask for my money back but it is not close to where I live and I didn't want to get more upset. I should have read all the rest of these reviews before I went there.
