I went to a different salon a month before and they did not give me the results I needed all the salons for a Japanese straightening are a little too far away for me and luckily, I found Kozo Hair Salon! Kozo (the owner) was the one doing my hair and his wife also does Japanese straightening as well. They both are so sweet and they mean business! My hair type is thick and coarse and it's like 3c type (mixed black hair). Kozo did tell me that because of my hair type he wasn't sure if it would get super straight but during the process, when I saw the product sit in my hair, I knew it was going to be good! The process came with a free trim. Coming in to getting this treatment done I knew there was gonna be damaged at the end so I didn't mind a trip plus I wanted to start fresh for my hair growth journey! The treatment was $400 and it took about five hours. I think it's totally worth it because now it cuts a lot of time out from getting ready in the morning and makes my hair more manageable! Thank you so much Kozo I'm so happy with my hair!

After getting a really terrible haircut and color, the next morning I researched salons and looked at what felt like a 1000 pictures. It was obvious that Bellagio Salon could handle a serious color correction. I called and said, "I need help, I'm desperate--something horrible has happened to my hair." She said, "I'll squeeze you in." I arrived at a very inviting salon across from the Newport Beach Harbor--such an amazing location. I really didn't have to say much about what I wanted done--it was obvious. Blend the thick white stripes on top of my head and add highlights to the bottom where there were none. Use a toner to warm the strange ashy stripes. Under the stripes was a very strange dark color. Nothing about this hair color made any sense. It was shockingly bad. Mind you, I had a perfect canvas for the first hairstylist. My hair was very long and hadn't been colored in years. It's naturally a lighter brown and gets natural highlights. What I asked for from the stylist who messed up my hair: blunt layers, especially around the crown since it's heavy and weighs down my flat thin hair. What I got: about 7 inches cut (that was fine), but I still had long heavy hair on top. The layers were all on the bottom few inches of my hair! It made zero sense. It was uneven and had these little flippy pieces in the very front. Mahi said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to let you leave with wings." hahaha! I love her. I cannot believe Mahi was able to create a good haircut with the little hair I had left. My hair is at my shoulders now, and it has a style that actually makes sense. She cut the long pieces around my crown so now my hair has body and movement. The white stripes are blended and no longer look so ashy and grey. Mahi took so much time and care with me--it was very meaningful. She also used a lot of her products on me and was very generous. I'm also shocked that my hair is not fried having my hair colored two days on a row. I'm so grateful Mahi uses quality products at her salon. My hair is now soft! A lot softer when I left her salon compared to the day before when I left that other salon. I'm so grateful. Thank you for helping me, thank you for making me feel so safe in your chair. I really appreciate you.

I decided what has always been my least favorite feature needed an overhaul - my hair. Anna immediately made me feel at ease in her chair. She's kind, extremely knowledgable, and has a beautiful way about her. A perfect mix of professionalism with the feeling you have been friends for years. I had a bit of a "mustard" dull blonde tone going on, and roots that were driving me crazy. Anna really brightened me up with the most luxurious shade of vanilla blonde that I had been dreaming of for years, and her highlights are so fine and well done, not thick chunky. I found them to be really seamless. Her blonde looks expensive although I found her to be extremely reasonable in price. After the color, I elected to have some invisible bead extensions put in, which I had never had before. I have extremely fine and thin hair (see the before photo). Anna was extremely kind and collaborative, letting me know exactly what to expect, adjusting for my teeny little peanut head, and causing ZERO pain or tenderness during install. I went from hating my hair, to feeling so confident. She really has a way of making you feel heard, and reassured every step of the way. The extensions are beautifully blended, and so natural looking. She really listened when I said I was hoping for something elegant. I would never hesitate to use Anna again - and really cannot wait to debut my new look on the trip. She has made me feel like the best version of myself, and is truly an exceptional person - both professionally and personally. She even sent me the loveliest little instructional video when I couldn't figure out how to give myself a little root volume like she managed to do in the salon!

So quickly made an appointment, when salons were allowed to open up again. I've been following Janice since her days at Spiltends. She's personable and just great to talk to and helps the time go by. I had also gotten the works and requested balayage too, so of course this appointment will take at least 2-3 hours. Most of the times she books up quickly so don't expect your appointment, for another 2 weeks, but I'm a FTE so limited on time I can take off, so that's also a factor for me. As expected and appreciated she does do a temperature check and requires mask before you're allowed into Sola. Don't be an entitled idiot and keep Janice safe and abide by those rules. It's not that hard. And don't make her work, when you're sick or force her to work when she's not well either. I totally felt safe in her space as she has an air filter also in her studio and she abides by Sola's standards, can't say every other business occupant does. I do recommend leaving your drink in your car and being properly hydrated beforehand.
