That being said, I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in there but the experience was great from start to finish. I first checked online to see if they were open because of COVID-19. They were open for appointments only but had a super easy appointment system. I walked in and was greeted immediately. Sunny helped me the entire time. She found me a wig that looked exactly like my own hair down to the style. I prefer real human hair wigs because you can wash and style them. I then told her that I was also looking for a longer "fun" wig. She found one that was great and looked wonderful. I am no longer nervous about losing my hair and working. Sunny has given me the confidence to go forward and I will be forever grateful for that.

She felt that using a curling iron on my hair was a good idea, and she curled against the curl, which makes my hair go straight. Maybe that works on straight hair, but with any curl, it will go straight and just be a flat lump, especially with hairspray on it. Then she cut some extra when it was dry, but that left some parts of my hair longer in some places. My hair is more than just curly. It's curly on the first day, but over the days after a shower, the curl flattens out. I like an even underlying cut.

There's a vast difference between a hairdresser with talent and a hairdresser. I was a manicurist/shop owner for 30 years, and I've seen both types. But just knowing which type you're looking for doesn't mean that you can find it easily. So before Michael, I had been to three establishments with no luck. And I'm putting it nicely. My hair has been chopped, overprocessed, bleached, brassy-toned, and generally damaged. The very first day I was there Michael fixed all of the problems with the curl and the cut and the little fuzzy ends. He did not cut off more than was deemed necessary, so I didn't lose a lot of hair in the process. To say that I was thrilled with the results would be a gross understatement. The first words out of my mouth when I got out of the chair were, "so when can Laura fix the color? " Because this talented team works together as a stylist and a colorist you get the whole package. I had an exciting two days getting my hair completely revamped. Soon I will go back in and get a little cut and shape it up and begin the process of growing out a nice head of hair that I can manage and that I truly love. Napoleon Blonde was referred to me by my daughter's MIL. She has beautiful hair so I finally asked her who her hairdresser is. And that is how I found Michael. Honestly, I could just tell by the way her hair flowed and behaved that someone who knew hair had been touching hers. And I was right! The scheduling was quick and easy, with the employee on the other end being so professional, helpful, and kind. I ended up going with a new stylist since my usual stylist was booked. The employee told me her name (the new stylist) was Emilee and I was booked for Friday at 6:45pm. When I arrived, the place was fairly empty - an unusual experience for me since I typically go on a weekend morning/afternoon when it's busy. It was nice to enjoy the space without many people! The salon is clean, beautiful, and comfortable, with different products decorating the main front wall. I checked in with front desk attendant (who was very kind) and only had to wait a couple minutes before Emilee came to get me. I was not only her last appointment for the day, but the very last appointment for the entire salon! It was a neat experience! Emilee is an absolute gem of a human. She immediately made me feel comfortable with her welcoming warmth and kindness. She is so down-to-earth and genuine; it felt like I was chatting with a friend! She gave me everything I wanted with my haircut, checking in with me every so often to see how I felt about the length, part, and side bangs. She even showed me a trick on how to calm down my fly-aways/new growth (a neat technique with a special comb and a little hairspray). Emilee truly made this experience probably the best salon experience I've ever had! May we all be so lucky to meet an Emilee in our lives!
