The vibe was cold and borderline dismissive from the moment we walked in. No greeting, no smiles, no effort from her or the other stylist to make us feel welcome. It felt like we were interrupting their day just by being there. And the cut was ok...she took too much off. My son requested a little trim. Worst haircut I ever had. Went in about three weeks ago for a certain haircut even showed her a picture. She didn't do anything. I asked her to do. I have gone to more expensive hair salons as well as Supercuts and feel I can still get a great haircut as long as I have a great hairdresser. I wanted to get my haircut and at the same time not spend a fortune to do it. I went to the Supercuts in Rancho San Diego and hoped I would get a good hairdresser. I simply just needed a trim so it was not going to be complicated. I met Hasna who greeted me at the front desk who told me it would be a 20-minute wait. So, I patiently went next door to Albertsons and bought some drinks for now and also later. By the time I came back, Hasna called my name. Hasna has a positive and happy energy about her so I felt good anout about being in her presence. She sat me down and I told her about my hair how it had a lot of wave to it and there was so much of it that it was hard to handle and work with. She advised me to get layers in my hair and take off a few inches. I said great I can't wait to see the final outcome.. She was pleasant, efficient, professional, and I enjoyed our conversation. She showed me in the mirror the length she cut was exactly two inches and it looked great. She layered the front of my hair to frame my face. She also styled it so it looked full of volume, and at the same time, the heavy weight was taken off due to the layers she cut in my hair. The final result was a beautiful transformation that I so needed! Hasna recommended a shampoo and conditioner that I purchased to help maintain the management of my hair. I am so grateful that I encountered such a talented hairdresser who also was so cheerful and friendly that I will continue to see her for all my hair-care needs! Never been seen on time whether I was the first appointment of the day or not. Always seem to take walk-ins over appointments.

Walked in on Saturday morning, asked for a hair cut & waxing, then asked if possible to do my color also, 2 people working, 2 people ahead of me , didn't seem too bad for a Saturday, thought they would have time . The manager was working and said to me they don't do color on Saturdays , okay no problem . After getting my hair trimmed & the waxing I asked just one more time about the color, again the manager stated to me that only on Tuesday & Wednesday s they do color because it's so slow on those days. I asked to schedule my hair a week in advance and the manager said No ! So okay I was going to leave it at that , but then after getting home I started to have a reaction to whatever it was they used to wax my brows/lip area . So between that and the color I won't be going back , the gal that did my hair was great , super apologetic & I felt completely embarrassed by the fact her manager was less than helpful . read more

I'm usually very happy with the customer service at this location, however today I booked an online appt. and showed up early. There was 1 person dying someones hair who did not acknowledge me. A second person came out with another customer and I informed her about having an appt. She continued to work with her customer. After 22 minutes of waiting the next appt. Arrived and was informed that she was 30 minutes behind. Again , I was never given any information about delays.Apparently their appt. While initially the booking of my appointment went well, she was very nice and accommodating, when I arrived and told my stylist (who didn't introduce herself so I can't give you a name) that I wanted my roots done, she said it would be 75.00 and 50 more if I got it blow dried and styled. We decided to take our 1 year old Grandson to get his first hair cut today. What a champ and let me tell you about Kattie Cartelli! Kattie has the patience of a Saint! From start to finish took about 25 minutes. There was no crying and he actually sat for her during the whole time. She actually offered him a lolly pop half way through. I really appreciated her and her style. She was dressed very professionally and her make up was on hit! The other really cool thing was that she gave us a Baby First Hair Cut card with a plastic covering to put the hair in. That was really good customer service! I have been going to this location and having Robyn cut/style my hair since 2006. I would wait until I came back from college and now I drive from Downtown San Diego just to see her. (I'm even guilty of going to see her just so she can style my hair if I am going out, haha.) My dad and brother also go there and have had their hair cut by most (if not all) of the stylists. There is rarely a long wait but when it is busy, they always super organized and really nice/professional. I have been a customer at this supercuts location for a few years now and it saddens me to be writing this review because I have only received great service my times being here. Today was much different. I made a check in appointment for 3:30 P.M. on February 2, 2018 and was helped by my stylist, Jocelyn who made this experience completely horrible for me and for that, I will never step foot in this location again. I walked in after class with my backpack and let my stylist know that I had brought my backpack down because I did not want to leave it in the car. She questioned why I did and I said that I had my laptop with me and did not want to leave it in the car. She unprofessionally joked and grabbed my backpack against her chest and acted like she was going to "steal it", and then jokingly but unprofessionally said "I'm going to make sure you forget your backpack here" I brushed this off assuming she was just immature and that the rest of my experience would be pleasant.... it was NOT. She asks me what I want to do with my hair and I told her that I wanted a wash and cut, no style. As I'm explaining what I want she is giving complete attitude but I try to brush it off because she is going to be cutting my hair. We go to the back and she washes my hair abruptly, we walk back and as she is cutting my hair ANY CHANCE SHE GOT TO LEAVE she did. If the phone rang, she would run to it. If a customer came in she would run to them. She left me while cutting my hair around 5 times in a span of 8 minutes. I would not be upset about this but the thing is, the store was NOT BUSY and there was another stylist available to assist people with help. She would go and approach someone and the other stylist would take care of it leaving Jocelyn to come back to cut my hair. When cutting my hair I also asked how many inches of split ends do you think I have? She said "I thought you were asking how many split ends do you have, I would say too many to count! You have thousands". This was also rude and uncalled for but again, I brushed it off. She finishes cutting my hair while it is still soaking wet and said "okay you're done" i said "are you not going to dry it?" she said, no I'm not going to dry it it will be too much money for you around $80. First of all, I will never pay someone to dry my hair $80 but it's rude to assume that I do not have the money to pay that. She refused to dry my hair and kept saying it would be too much money for me to pay? I told her that I have been here before and gotten my hair blow dried specifically and the most it costed was around 40 dollars, she refused to believe that and kept saying no! I told her that I wasn't asking for a style blow dry I just don't want to leave with my hair soaking wet during Winter time. I know for a fact that supercuts must dry your hair 15%-20% and not allow you to leave with hair dripping wet and she had me leave exactly in that state. Now I am currently writing this review with an uneven hair cut and soaking wet hair dripping down my back. I will never step foot in this salon and there was no reason for me to be treated this poorly when I did nothing wrong but come in wanting a hair cut. read more

I thought I could come in to have a simple haircut. As advertised it costs less than $30 but to shampoo, then dry, then straighten kept adding more and more money for each thing. I just wanted to braid it and it was another $40 along with $45 for straightening it, along with $45 to blow dry it... it's ridiculous!! Just to breathe it would be another $45 I also asked to have my ends cut and less than 2 inches. I now have about 8 inches shorter of hair and it won't bounce back like it used to with my curls. Would not recommend this place for a simple cut and for them to listen to you about what you want for your hair... read more

Yesterday was crazy. Went to Fantastic Sams to get my daughter's hair dyed. I left upset when they talked me out of going there. Yes, and I was told it would be very expensive. She had green in her hair and needed several steps done to her hair. So I left and went to Supercuts. I was greeted with a very friendly smile and then introduced to Jenna. Jenna told me what she thought she could do, told me the cost. It was reasonable and she was honest. I was so happy with my daughters hair that I will always come back here to Supercuts in Rancho San Diego. Seriously, you won't go wrong with Jenna.
