I suggest setting your appointment early, but they have been able to squeeze me in with a day's notice. Unfortunately, when it comes specifically to men's haircuts, I personally cannot recommend this place. I understand there are only select stylists here who cut men's hair, but the haircut I received was honestly one of the worst I've had in my 40+ years. The cut around my ears was noticeably uneven, the overall haircut just didn't look right, and I ended up going home and fixing parts of it myself with my own clippers and trimmers. The atmosphere is cute, energetic and fun, although it definitely feels geared more toward a younger female clientele than an adult male looking for a traditional men's cut. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that--it just wasn't the right fit for me. I really don't want this review to come across as an attack on the employees because everyone was extremely nice. My experience with the people was great; my experience with the actual haircut was not. For women or someone looking for the services they specialize in, this may be a completely different experience. But for a men's haircut, I personally wouldn't return.

Hanan Cosmetics also sells beautiful accessories (ie. purses, jewerly and perfumes, etc.). Honestly, I sometimes go there just to shop for jewerly. The owner (Hanan) is a lovely woman who sells unique trinkets, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. She has an incredible eye for distinctive pieces. There are several cosmetologists at Hanan's, but I think Marie is the most talented. I see Marie every couple months or so to get my eyebrows waxed. Of all the places I've gone, Marie is the best. She is so much fun to talk to and does a PERFECT job. I never feel any pain and she makes me feel totally pampered. Once she is done perfecting my eyebrows, she usually finishes up by filling in my brows, or adding some eye shadow to a touch of gloss. She always picks flattering colors and takes her time, I never feel rushed. I haven't gotten my makeup done yet at Hanan, but I have seen the results of others and it always looked great (but is a little pricey). I also know that they will come to you to apply your makeup, but they charge a travel fee.

The back of my hair right at the base of the neck was an inch and a half long the entire back of the head was layered so short, I could not get it into a ponytail. The right side is longer than the left side. The layers are all very different. I had panic attacks every time I touched it or looked in a mirror and washed it as it made me so sick to my stomach that someone could do such a terrible job cutting hair and calling oneself a professional. No professional would do a this bad. I called and complained spoke to an employee who said the owner was not in and she would pass the message along. The owner when I finally did get in touch with him did not care one bit of how bad of a job my hair turned out. And the worst part about it I explained to her prior to her, even starting my hair that my biggest fear was getting my haircut and considering how bad of a job she did it looked nothing like the picture, and it was so uneven and looked so bad. Several months have gone by and I still can't get all of my hair into one ponytail. My request was that my hair be passed my shoulders so we could go into a ponytail. I didn't get close to that and I still can't get it into a ponytail. I do not recommend this place at all the owner and his wife are not very reliable or responsible. But...I don't know…read more People are also spending their hard-earned money here, so I'll just keep it simple, and also let the pics speak: 1. I asked for balayage on previously highlighted hair. I showed reference photos and said I'm fine with whatever my hair lifts to (I'm not expecting them to get as light as the pics.) They said they can do it, no problem. I'm on the docket for a Tye Dye and a Take Root. 2. After everything's washed out, they dry a section in front for me to see. Looks okay. I was the last customer of the day, so I go home to blow-dry so they can close. Only then do I realize that there is no blend at all, and there's a band around my head, like it's been growing out for months. My grays are also still showing, which should have been covered by the Take Root. 3. They get me in for a complimentary re-do. I was told that they didn't "think anything was wrong with it" (which was infuriating...I mean, y'all can see the pics.) They say they'll bring the root color down to blend it. I hear that they didn't actually do a Take Root last time (even though they charged for it...they did do a shadow or a color smudge? Maybe it costs the same.) I was told that this time, the grays will be covered. 4. I blow-dry my hair there, and see that there is a dark dye drip right in the front section of my hair. I asked for them to fix; they rubbed bleach in there immediately, and said the dark spot would wash out. It did not wash out. Well...at least my grays are now covered. I give up and leave. This is just too much. 5. I get home and see even more uneven spots on my hair. The stark band remains on some parts of the outer hair and much of the inner hair. 6. I finally have to go to another stylist to get it fixed, and lament the amount of time and emotional energy spent on this that I really did not have. First time getting hair done in 8 months, and sorely needed a pick-me-up, but got this instead. It's not even about the $ (which was $169 before tip). I'm not interested in a refund, since they spent time & product on this.) Some acknowledgment & empathy would have gone a long way. There are lots of rave reviews about this place, especially if you're looking for all-over color or just root touch-ups. If you're gonna try it out, I'd stay away from the balayage/Tye-Dye. That kind of work takes time and attention that a business model built on quickness and efficiency probably cannot deliver. (DynFly Troy...hesitant to name the stylist.)
