I have been using Supercuts for over a decade in several states, and generally had great experiences; however, my last trip to the Blackhawk Supercuts was very disappointing: my wife noticed a sign that said they accept competitors coupons, when we presented it, they rudely informed us that the coupon is from a different chain. I explained our reasoning and they said no, so I pointed to the sign in the window and the response was "yeah, but we don't do that". I suggested they take down the sign if they don't wish to comply with it, and they effectively refused to acknowledge the contradiction. Decent haircut, high price, very rude staff (that day, very pleasant other visits).

Reached at 5.10 pm. Shop closes at 6pm. Was told no service available. Under staffed. How is that my problem? Avoid if you can.

I decided the light hair wasn't for me and she helped me go back to my natural dark hair. She does amazing work and is a super fun person. She is honest and makes sure I don't do anything crazy to my hair (like not cutting it too short ;) whew!). I love working with Kristen. She made me feel listened to and excited, and she introduced me to some clean, natural hair care that I still need to go back and purchase from her! I took a short paper survey so she had some insight to my hair history and goals, showed her some photos and explained what I wanted, and she got right to work. I felt super comfy in her chair while she washed my hair, products smelled amazing and made my hair SO soft, she introduced me to a GHD wet to dry brush I also need to purchase now lol, and she gave me the BEST haircut I've ever had. It was exactly what I was looking for and more - I couldn't believe it was actually my hair! Since I havre naturally dark hair, I was told by so many stylists that it's a "process" to get that ashy color and it would take a few visits. However, after almost a decade of dealing with orangey highlights, it was time for a change. I did love my old stylist, but a new salon owner made it difficult to book with her. Thankfully, I found Assilah Latifi at Lush Salon. She has a deep understanding of formulating the right shade for you to flatter your skin tone and natural hair color! She gently explained that dying your roots with a dark permanent color would affect the highlights as that root grows out and make the effect orange. In one long session, she was able to cancel that orange and achieve that ashy highlight look I was hoping to get. Not only that, she was extremely professional. She was on time, took care to explain the process and was very transparent with her pricing. On top of that, she is caring and kind. I am so happy I found a true gem of a stylist! Book with her if you want the hair of your dreams.

Updating my review after the owner replied with lies! If a business ghosts you and tell lies,…read morethat's a big RED FLAG! I did not apply box dye to my hair after keratin. I dyed my hair on 5/6 and asked on Yelp on 5/8 and got my treatment on 5/21. I can't believe she has the audacity to reply my reviews with lies like this. I will include pics of my Yelp project as well as her reply! I caution everyone to stay away from this shady business. Original review: I was looking around for a keratin treatment in the area and narrowed down to this salon. I did my research and looked at every reviews especially the negative ones. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and boy was I wrong! I've done these keratin treatments 3 times before at 2 different salons. Every time, the results came out great! Since those salons were no longer in business, I had to look for a new place. Jane needed a consultation before the treatment so I went in on 5/13. It was a quick 5 min consultation and confirmed that I was doing the regular keratin, made an appt for the week after. She said she prefers cash and the treatment was $380. Went back to get my treatment done on 5/21. As some of the reviews said, she is not the friendly type who would chit-chat with you which I didn't mind. She did answer my questions when I asked. But yes, "with an attitude and general unfriendliness" - quoting one of the reviews. I asked her if I would be getting my hair trimmed, (as I had always got it at different salons when getting these treatment.) She said "your hair is not straight. after this treatment, you need to get a haircut!" I was confused and thought that haircut is included . Then I asked her "will you trim it? " she said "ok, I will give you a haircut after the treatment" So after the treatment, she gave me a haircut which was 15 min at most. Then she said "usually I charged $80 for a haircut, but with treatment. I will charge you $70!" she didn't say anything about the extra cost for the haircut, let alone, $70 extra!!!! She should have said that before giving me a haircut and asked me if it's ok!!! I was not happy about it but i didn't confront her, I let it go and still paid her...cash! The whole thing took a little over 2hrs, not 3.5 hrs as she lied. 2 days after, I washed my hair as told by her with the recommended shampoo! And my hair was still very curly and frizzy! I texted her, and she told me to go back to her salon and get checked by her. I went in the following week and the first thing she said was "So what did you do?" I was shocked. I did nothing. I only did what she told me to do, not wash my hair for 2 days! Then she said "I have done this for 10 yrs and you are my first complaint!" I was like "so do you think this is ok??? " this is not a complaint, it's a problem. She blamed it on the conditioner I used, even though I showed her a pic of my conditioner during the treatment and she did say the conditioner didn't matter. She blamed it on my hair type saying my hair was curly and frizzy. She said some ppl might need to do it 2 times. But if she is so experienced, she should have known during our consultation! I showed her pics of how my hair turned out great after keratin treatment before and she said "other ppl use formaldehyde and I don't " I said the most recent one I got was without formaldehyde and still worked on my hair! At the end, she said she will do it again for me but in 1.5 hr. I confirmed with her that there is no fee cause I didn't want any surprises! In the follow up appointment, she came in late and there were No apologies whatsoever!! I read a review saying how someone was late and she took it seriously! But when she is late, she acts like nothing!! At that point, I know that she does not hold responsible for the things she does wrong, as simple as being late. The treatment was actually only 1 hr, not 1.5 as she lied. When she finished, she said " this is all I can do ". And yes, her attitude has been "doing you the biggest favor in the world even though you are paying her" quoting from one of the reviews. 2 days after the treatment, I washed my hair with the recommended shampoo AND conditioner this time. It's still frizzy, dry-looking and curlier than before. Obviously the treatment didn't work! It's not giving the result that it claimed and definitely not what I wanted. I texted her, she didn't respond, 2 days later, I texted again. Nothing. I then called and realized she BLOCKED me! Yes, just as one of the reviews mentioned, she blocks you when you did nothing wrong! So yes, I got SCAMMED! I hated writing bad reviews. I wanted to support small businesses and was hoping to find a place I can go for my hair. but in return, I lost $450 (treatment plus haircut). I wish I trusted the negative reviews on this business. I am writing all this in hope that no one will get scammed like me!
