Normally Tess does an amazing job, she is relatable and understands female military hair standards. This last time I came in she was not available and another woman trimmed my hair and cut my bangs. She cut them strait across, despite me telling her I wanted side swept bangs, and parted my hair the wrong way when she cut them, so they stick strait out like I'm a 1980s business woman. We have been getting hair cuts for our whole family here for over a year. We always make an appointment for Amanda to cut my husbands hair, for the kids we just take them to whoever is available. The place is clean and new, the prices are very reasonable, they have candy lollipops for kids after their haircut, and we have been also able to wait inside with our dog (She was sitting calmly while my kids were getting their hair done). The staff is very nice and accomodating. Once I came over with my daughter after a week of swimming camp and they did a great job in untangling her hair (It was so tangled that she looked like she had dreadlocks!) and getting it moisturized and looking great again. read more

I recently got a free haircut coupon from an Oceanside Pride fest and decided to go to the closest Supercuts near me. Got my hair cut by a wonderful fun lady at the shop. She is talented. We did a haircut which looks exactly the way I wanted it to be and did a dye job. AMAZING! I am so sorry I forgot the name of her!!! So sad when the things I like seem to fade. I am a loyal customer and give my business to companies that seems to value it. Called ahead and got the schedule of the person I wanted to cut my hair. Was told 8:00-4:00 that day. Called in the afternoon to say I was headed there and was told she left at 3:00. Stuff happens and I was told she had the same schedule the following day. Called in again the following afternoon to be told she had left early again. Asked person on the phone to tell her I would be in the afternoon of her next 8:00 -4:00 day. Another early departure on that day. Was told she would be in 9:00-1:00 on Sunday and again asked to have my name put in for that. Called Sunday midway through the 25-minute drive from home to Supercuts and was told she was booked solid for the day and I was not on the list. I'm sure all the stylists here do fine work or they wouldn't be so busy and in demand. But I think it's time to find another place to get my trim every four weeks. read more

Yikes, what can I say... I walked in and it was empty, no one at the front. Jen came running around the corner to say hello/welcome. I got a basic cut. This is my thing: I refuse to pay a ton of money on a basic trim. I just won't. I don't color my hair, I use above decent shampoo, and take okay care of my hair. I just want a tiny trim to cut off all the dead ends. Well, here I am with a super short cut KICKING myself. An inch does not mean three... Thankfully my hair grows fast but I don't understand how they hear something COMPLETELY different to what I tell them. It's annoying. Luckily I get my hair cut once a year, maybe two. I will not be coming back sadly. Random tip- there are hardly any windows in here so if you suffer from severe claustrophobia, I would stay away. Felt like we were in a basement. Oh and! First time I've ever had a hair cut standing up? Is this a normal practice by hairdressers? I'm not very tall and my hair wasn't THAT long, but I had to stand for part of it.... Terrible service, I went in to get partial low light color, starting price is $65 and I do have about shoulder length hair so did expect to be charged slightly higher, I worked with Chelsea, I sat in her chair and she told me it was going to be $185.00, I was Shocked!!!! for a partial highlight? I understand my hair is a little longer and if I was getting a full Low Light with foils on entire head MAYBE??? but I am not asking for a full foil and I am getting low lights very simple to deposit color. I came to Supercuts to avoid being robbed by HIGH end salon prices and said that was ridiculous and walked out. I went to the salon down the street and they were able to give me partial low lights for $95 which was reasonable for an easy job as it requires maybe 10 foils. I am licensed now for over 25 years myself and worked in a salon for over 20 years and although I no longer work in one I do know reasonable pricing and what is needed for my type of service, I just moved to the area so have to find a new salon to do my hair but I refuse to be robbed. Salon was empty and absolutely no customers and it seems to me Chelsea just did not want to work that day, I guess she is ok with her base hourly pay and no commission or tips. When I managed a salon I knew we had to be keep busy to keep stylists working and I guess this salon could care less they have no one in there paying for their services and I can see why with employees like Chelsea. We will see if they are still open in 2-3 years time as they are very new to the Village. read more

I have had my hair cut and colored here a few times, and have always been pleased with the work and the hairdresser. On Friday, my favorite gal was available, Julie. I wanted something to perk up my regular cut and color, and Julie suggested a foil wrap. I am beyond pleased with it! Julie is professional, efficient, and talented in hair styling. India cut my daughter's hair and took giant chunks out of the front. We put a review on with pictures but somehow they got it removed. It was a terrible, atrocious haircut. They gave us our money back and Renali did a nice job trying to repair the hack job but it was too late. I really think India did not do this intentionally but she should not be cutting hair. So I'm not sure why but I've come here multiple times to get my hair just straightened not even shampooed and it's always been $20. But just today I was charged $35 and I asked why is it more because I've always been charged $20 and she said "oh no that's not right it should have been $35" and I asked her to even look up my info so it could show her that it has always been $20 and she still wouldn't honor my price. I got charged $15 more and would like somehow to get that $15 back because that's really unfair and unprofessional. read more

Very disappointed and upset. After visiting this salon, I had to have a second haircut and to cut my hair super short to fix the damage done to my hair style in here... My hair still doesn't look as it was supposed to... I guess no mirrors for me until it grows back. :( read more

I'm sure the rest of the team cuts hair fine. But I got home and looked at my haircut and it was terrible! I had to fix my bangs! My bangs were uneven and had long hairs everywhere. While visiting Carlsbad, I was in desperate need for a haircut. When I saw that I was very close to the Carlsbad Village location, I was a little skeptical due to the fact I'm used to barbershops. I called first and was greeted, kindly, by India whom told me all about the way they do things. She fit me into her busy schedule at a moments notice. When I walked in for my reservation, I was impressed by the way the store looked; very clean and welcoming. I met with India who listened to my needs and was extremely professional when I was with her. Stylist here are very snooty. They where to much makeup and seem stuck up. I go my hair cut there and the stylist did not even talk to me. The manager kept looking at me funny. Horrible service. The only thing good was the enjoy product. Do not go here save your money and go somewhere high end, at least there they have an excuse to be snobby. read more

I wanted to say how impressed I was at the Carlsbad Village Supercuts upon their reopening. From the second I was allowed in the door after having passed the temperature check, there was a major respect for making me feel confident that I would not be contracting COVID-19 in their salon. All the staff have been through classes and have posted certificates that they know what they're doing to ensure safety. Their corporate really planned this carefully. There are only a few booked clients at a time, one or two. There are currently no walk-ins; they are taking appointments only so that they can control who is in the salon.  Once they start on a client for color and cut -- no blow dry at this time -- the stylist stays with that client only. In my case, it was Tess, the talented manager. I waited months for the salon to reopen and to see Tess. And the protocol was so respectful, I almost felt like I was attending a church ceremony. read more

Worst place ever... Took my son for a trim, and in a blink of an eye it was gone shopped off. He had been letting it grow and from having it to his shoulders we walked out with almost a military cut, where she got the idea to cut it all off is beyond me since we showed her a picture but I guess lesson learned never will we step in there again. read more
