Excellent experience from start to finish. It's been over ten years since I got a tattoo, and having 17 tattoos total, I was being very selective about the artist/shop I was going to use. After "checking out" the 3-4 other tattoo shops located around Superchango, I was dismayed by the disarray / uncleanliness of the shops, the poor line quality on the sample pics, and the total lack of communication from any artist as to what it was I was wanting done. When I walked into Superchango, Billy (artist) immediately approached my wife and myself, introduced himself, and we began a dialogue to find out what I wanted. It was a partial cover-up, with a lot of new I wanted to add. We discussed options, colors, the usual for about 20 minutes. Made my appointment for Labor Day and walked out. When I arrived for the appointment, Billy went over several ideas / sketches he had prepared (free of charge) and we hashed out the final layout and colors. Took almost 3.5 hours to complete, we discussed everything under the sun (Billy was very personable) which made the time go fast, and the cost was very reasonable for the time / color. The shop is very clean (including the bathroom) and Billy took every procedure to ensure the tattoo area was clean and sterilized prior to starting. I would definitely recommend both Superchango and Billy to anyone looking for a tattoo. I plan on going back for future work and my wife is already planning her tattoo as well. Be advised of the location, they are next to the waxing bar, just after All Pawn travelling south on the I-45 feeder before Rayford Sawdust. Superchango is the real deal. I was lucky enough to walk in one evening without an appointment made and an artist was able to sketch up a stencil for me. I was impressed how he was able to look at a few pictures I had on my phone and sketch up something I loved. Everyone in the shop was real cool and helped me pick an artist who could knock out the style of tattoo I had my mind set on. My tattoo came out better than I expected! I've had not so good luck with tattoo shops in the area, I'm usually fooled by a fancy storefront and a guy that claims he can do it all. If your on a budget! Don't expect a bad ass tattoo for cheap what you pay is what you get. If your not from around here, and looking for a good tattoo this shop has talent and if you're looking for great work this is definitely the place to invest coming to. For twenty more bucks an hour than most competitors, you wont regret spending the extra coin for something your gonna have and appreciate forever. read more

My husband and I are both customers of this studio and we wouldn't go anywhere else. We have had work done there a few times now and don't understand all of the bad reviews. The place is very clean and professional. We've never had anything but good service there. We would recommend getting your tattoo done by the owner Juan, if you have the option. If you don't, the other artists do great work as well. Their prices are good and their work is exceptional. Like they say, you get what you pay for. If your looking for a cheap tattoo that's exactly what you'll get. These guys might run a little more than some other studio's but it's well worth the few dollars more an hour they charge. They are certainly not the most expensive in town. We are looking forward to getting more ink done here in the future. We already have the next few planned. read more

Best tattoo shop in Houston. Most recently, I got a medium sized tattoo on my back. I walked in early Saturday, made an appt. for 4 and got the tattoo done in two hours. It was full-color. More than that, it looks amazing! Exactly what I wanted. They are friendly, sterile and talented. I've had work done by Efram, Jorge and Pruett, and I am very satisfied with all of it. I think there has to be a certain element of trust and creative exchange with your tattoo artist, and I definitely felt that these guys respected my ideas. Their pricing is by size: $100 for a small, $200 for a medium, $300 for a large-ish medium and anything over that they charge by the hour. I've been to a lot of rude, overpriced parlors with friends who aren't very picky, but I always come back here. Much love to the monkey. read more

I gotta say I just returned to superchango for my 2nd tattoo last weekend, I had gone in on thurs and set my appointment with billy who was super friendly as soon as I went in, I showed him a couple pics of things I liked and asked him to take it from there. Showed up sat with my husband who talked to Ronnie and decided to get his tattoo re worked, Ronnie was awesome up for it,honest gave his professional opinion and went to wrk. First things first, this is a first class tattoo shop. Very clean and nicely set up. The new location is alot smaller than the old location, but in a much better location and easily accessible. I never judge a business by their reviews. I actually check the place out first, see what it is like and go from there. From the first time I walked in, I liked what I saw. Although they were extremely busy (and they usually are) all the shop artists were friendly and helping customers. Juan the owner did my tattoo work and it is extremely impressive. If you have a bad experience here, tell Juan the owner about it. I am sure he would want to hear it and rectify the problem. Class act shop in my book. read more

I had a 30 year old tattoo that was faded and I wanted to cover it. I stopped by Superchango earlier this week based on some friends' recommendations. Juan worked with me for about an hour to create a new design and made an appointment to do the work. He was very patient and helpful, and did not charge me anything for the time we spent working on the design. I kept my appointment this evening, and am extremely pleased with the results. The price was reasonable and the work was excellent. Everyone was very professional and friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. Absolutely LOVE this place! The artists are EXTREMLY talented! All of the artists have amazing portfolios. Juan takes care of my fiancé and Steve takes care of my father! Fantastic place we will be back very soon! We were there on memorial day from 1pm till almost 9pm and the guys were awesome to hang out with all day and the work they did is BEAUTIFUL! We were there all day and I don't feel like we over paid. If anything we under paid...my fiancé's sleeve looks AMAZING. Great place to get quality ink! Not sure why others get so bent when they have to deal with a bit of attitude...don't expect to get a foot massage and shave/haircut while you're there...But do expect to get a beautiful tattoo for a fair price. My wife had her first tattoo done by Juan. Simply amazing work. Traditional Japanese barn-swallows on her back shoulder. Juan used different guns/techniques to bring out incredible details in the feathers. Very cool to watch. I had two nautical themed sparrows done by Steve. Again, very solid work. I wish I had gone to them for all of my other ink, I will not be using anyone else from now on. read more

As a bystander for a first time tattoo, I couldn't have been more impressed. Juan may be your typical tattoo parlor owner, but his skills weren't something you see everyday. I am one of the pickiest people and it was my art and I was allowed to play just as big a part in the experience. He knows how to communicate and take advice. Juan knows what he is talking about. He made the time there enjoyable. It is a memory we will always cherish. I can't wait to come in and get my tattoo so I can tell him exactly how to do it (because I am so controling). RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!! Went to Super Chango with some girlfriends, there were about 6 of us that wanted piercings. The guy at the front desk was rude and then the piercing guy came out and he was majorly rude, acted like we were wasting thier time! I have been here in the past for tattoo's at the other location. The staff was very friendly and took me as a walk in on a Tuesday afternoon. The artist did exactly what I wanted and I felt the price was very reasonable. I am very happy with my tattoo. The artist, Jeremy, took his time to make sure I was happy with the tattoo as he worked on it. Highly recommend this place. Only drawback is it is a little difficult to find. We first went to Super Chango for a Tattoo five years ago. I was very pleased by the shop, it was very clean and orderly. The entire staff was very friendly and very helpful. Top notch place, always clean and ready for my appointment. Jaun Cabrera has done some massive cover ups for me and they are just over the top. All the work I have had from jaun heals very quickly, unlike work I have in the past. I wouldn't even consider any other place. It was hard to find, but I'm glad I did. I went here for a walk in at 11:30pm, and they stayed open for 2 hours to give me my tattoo, which turned out great. When I apologized for keeping them there so late, her response was "No problem, we love our job." Which is pretty cool. I have always had a great experience here. The place is always super clean. The artists are always nice. I always get compliments on the work I have had done here. People still ask if my 4 year old tattoo is new. As usual, a good tattoo aint cheap, and a cheap tattoo aint good. I cant see myself going to any other place in the area. I have one tattoo and it came from an artist from Superchango, it took a long time for me to decide to get it so I did my homework on the studio, this was at the old location that was next to the grocery store. The studio was very clean, my artist was very helpful in my design and was awesome during the process! I would definitely go back when I decide to add to my art! read more
