If I could rate this store ZERO STARS, I would. Let me set the scene, After a long relaxing vacation at OBX, the last thing we wanted to do before going home was visit Super Wings to buy some fun souvenirs. What we were met with was in fact an adorable tank top... BUT when I reached for the tank top that I was looking to gift to someone was a giant ugly COCKROACH. I was absolutely appalled. When I told the cashier working behind the counter all he did was shake his head and say, " i'm so sorry about that". There was no urgency to find and get rid of the cockroach. He never even asked where the roach was. I know for a FACT, that the cockroach is still in that store. My family and I were disgusted, Absolutely NEVER visiting that Super Wings EVER again. I hope this establishment is happy that they lost multiple customers. read more

The store is very clean and well stocked with a huge variety of clever things, clothes, sandals, toys, souvenirs, jewelry at the front. We came here a few times. Be prepared to lose your kids here, it is massive. Enjoy! read more

We have been in here twice on visits to Avon in December and May, this retail establishment is conveniently located on Highway 12. Super Wings is a huge run of the mill souvenir shop. Customer service is mostly non-existent, but nobody was rude either. One of the best deals here is probably the 3 for $10 t-shirts for sale! The quality of the t's is average, but they make for a nice souvenir. I also spotted hats, higher quality t-shirts and a LOT of apparel. I do like that they sell swimwear here, this part of OBX is desolate, so if you forgot your suit the other option is a 60 minute ride up to Walmart. The swimwear prices were not cheap, but I would not describe them as ridiculous either. Beach chairs and towels are also for sale, price was about average. In addition to that, I spotted a lot of beach toys, cups, mugs, bumper stickers, taffy and more. It's worth a browse if you are looking for an inexpensive memento to bring home from the beach! read more

Bleh. A huge souvenir shop with tons of junk. But they also have a huge clothing selection with tons of options for all different styles, sizes (including plus sizes), and ages. They have novelty, as well as nicer and better quality clothing. They also have tons of flip flops and water shoes. When I visited (New Years eve weekend), they were discounted to just $1.99/pair! I didn't have a need but it was a good deal nonetheless. If you pick up the coupon booklet at the visitors center, there's some coupons for discounted purchases or free items. They were out of the free beach bag, so we got a free Super Wings mug. I wish it was an OBX mug, good for a souvenir gift for someone, but it was free so can't complain too much. Employees had their masks around their neck and no hand sanitizer that I noticed. But we were the only people in the store so it was easy enough to avoid. read more

Seen one. Seen 'em all. But you need these stores in places like this. No different than Sunsations in Ocean City. I will say it's a bit sad that some of the more local shops like this are gone. We all got our surf apparel and some boat rafts and hit the sound for some fun. (They inflated our rafts for us at the store). read more

I'm shocked that searching "souvenir shops in Outer Banks, NC" didn't bring this store as the first place to visit. I've been visiting the [overpriced] Jersey Shore since I was little and I know to buy everything I need before I go on vacation because if I need to visit a store while at the beach, I'll be spending an arm and a leg on it. Super Wings is a great place for souvenirs, t-shirts, bathing suits (men's suit trunks were buy one pair, get the 2nd half off and most styles were $19.99), floats, towels, sunglasses, sunscreen - you name it. The staff is friendly, the prices are very reasonable and there's a store every few miles so you've never far from one. We were even given a free mug because we spent so much money! I should also mention that they have plus sizes, even up to 7XL... though I couldn't find a 7XL in the store, they were sold out. The plus size clothing was just for the souvenir shirts though. I'm an XL or an XXL in women's and the dresses I looked through didn't go above size Large. read more

Super Wings has a great selection of beach wear at a very affordable price. I ended up getting an outer banks t shirt here as well as several other miscellaneous doodads for around $60. If you spend $50 or more (I think) you get a free tote bag. Definitely ask them about it though, since they only appear to do it sometimes. They also have a pretty good selection of funny gifts, like a shot glass with tots on it. read more

This place is a humongous and has everything you need in terms of souveniers. Frames? Check OBX Stickers? Check Hoodies, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants? Check T-shirts with appropriate sayings? Double Check I've gotten some frames but I'm a big fan of the women's shorts. They're comfortable, They have OBX on the front side or but and in all different colors. You really can't go wrong and the best thing is that they're about $15. You can't beat that. The staff, like most places in the Outer Banks, are hired international help so they may not be the most helpful but I never found them rude. This place is huge and one stop shop for any souvenier, beach prop shop you need when you are in Avon/Hatteras. Highly recommend. read more

Been coming to this place every year for about 5 years and I've never had an issue with any of the products. I am a sentimental person and I always get myself a little lighthouse and probably one to many shirts and they still hold up today. Love this place and I will continue to love it read more

Wasn't a fan. Yeah, they've got great stuff but the staff doesn't know how to do they're job. I had to go back twice to get a theft sensor taken off. And then I went home and found out that there was ANOTHER theft sensor. So I had to to back and have them take it off. Wouldn't go back. read more

my son bought a shirt three hours later i could not exchange it in avon outer banks they only exchange chairs body boards skim boards and umbrellas i was not asking for money back but just wanted to swap it out the lady out the counter pointing out that they only refund or exchange what was on the receipt listed above so they need to offer changing stations to try them on before purchase and need more than one person in the store she was swamped with a line of customers to make sure everyone was aware if the clothes dont fit you can not bring them back read more
