If you're like 99% of golfers out there, you think about whether your clubs are fitted for your swing, yet you do nothing about it. If you're like any golfer, you want to improve your golf game. And if you want to play your best, it starts with getting golf clubs fitted for your swing. (Then perfect your imperfect swing and keep it consistent.) I'm vertically challenged so I've know for years that I needed I clubs slightly shorter than standard. Speaking of standard, there's a different standard for each manufacturer, so there can be some confusion from the start. Even after gripping down on the club, we found that I still needed my clubs flattened. Mike walked me through what changes need to be made, adjusted one club to show me the difference, demonstrated the changes/benefits, and went to work on the rest of my set. He showed me the numbers, the various angles for all the clubs fine tuned to my swing, and after fixing my set, shared that even the manufacturer didn't even have their angles consistent. Just these changes alone has me excited to golf more competitively this year. Along with club fitting he can regrip your clubs, too. The spot is in the newly renovated shops across from Town Center that was formerly a Bed Bath and Beyond. The store will be in a strip with Trader Joe's soon to open next month and ABC liquors. No issues with parking at this point. The new store opened this week with Grand Opening this weekend, the kick off at 9 AM Friday will give 100 lucky customers gift cards worth up to $500. Through the weekend there will be fun with closest to the pin contest to win prizes. I was greeted by an army of friendly staff eager to help. Staff explained the layout of the store. Men's merchandise to the left, women to the right. The performance center is in the rear where you can practice your drive with interactive screens. They also have a designated pro's room that customers can hire. The displays were magnificently laid out. All the major golf brands are represented. They have everything and anything a golfer could dream of wanting including a pro shop for service including grips. I plan to come back this weekend with more time and hope to score on a few prizes too! Every single staff I ran across engaged me in a helpful way. Expect Golf Galaxy to be a force in Virginia Beach.

Daily (weekday) mid-day hour long sessions to get in some good practice and hit a ton of balls (Feeding Frenzy) and two-hour evening sessions (ran similar to a high school practice) with instruction, drills, and real play. Tuesdays are for kids only. The rest of the week is open to all ages. Saturdays offer two-hour sessions for beginners and/or those who have not played in a while and would like some refreshers. Saturdays also offer Feeding Frenzy. Very reasonable membership price - and if you're not a member, affordable session prices of $20 per hour. Lessons are available as well. New addition of Cornhole more recently which have been set up for true tournament (or leisure) play. They did a great job with the setup of this new space. I think that leaves the local business with two stores now. I called around to several local sporting good stores and found that finding my item would offer a challenge. The selection is strong and a definite emphasis on NFL items of all types. The displays were attractive and the store clean. I am pretty sure square foot wise this store is larger than Pembroke. I think this move was smart, Lynnhaven brings in a lot of traffic and after a recent remodel is on the up swing. You will find the store beside Dicks Sporting Goods and across from Dave & Busters which should assist you in parking if this is your only stop. I was in search for a Miami Dolphins Jersey for my son's birthday. Sizing for a 12 year old would be tough. They did have a Small which is hard to come by, but no Youth sizing in until end of Summer. If your ordering online through various websites this is not a problem, but attempting to find the right jersey and size locally can be tough so he would have something to open along with Redskins v. Dolphins home opener tix... oh yeah this was going to be great! I decided to go for it. The salesman Bart did a fantastic job of assisting me and chatting about various type of items in the store. I mentioned to him that when I called there was no answer and he confirmed yelp had the Pembroke location number that closed and he thought the phone would roll over to the new location. The extra step that would have brought the review to a 5 was a reminder of the NO RETURN POLICY especially since I discussed sizing was an issue. As it ended up it was way too big. I returned to the store and dealt with a female staff member. I found out about the no return policy. She was apologetic regarding the communication and pointed out the policy directly in front the cash register. She was professional and helpful through the transaction of issuing an in store credit. Hopefully in late Summer I will be able to find the Youth size that I need. I would recommend the store even with a hiccup in communication of a no return policy. Part of the blame I must bare, the sigh was in front of me at checkout. However, in my situation of discussing sizing it's a perfect time for staff to provide this info. The service was strong, the selection is excellent and you will walk away with some type of cool item that is difficult to locate locally else where. I will be back by late Summer if not before.
