But Bob at the Hamilton Radio Shack assured me over the phone that he could help, and indeed he was! He not only determined what I needed and explained how to hook it up, but then told me if it didn't work I could bring it back and try something else. I've never written a review like this one ever, only positives ones. I feel a duty to write this one to warn others. This store despises customers and especially returns!!!!! Warning - 15% restocking charge! This Hamilton, Montana Radio Shack store has the WORST and most verbally abusive CUSTOMER SERVICE I have EVER experienced in my entire life and then some. It's like experiencing someone going through a sudden horrific bipolar episode right in your face!!!! I have been an employee, and a small business owner for 47 years trained in numerous customer service programs and in turn became a Customer Service Trainor on a corporate level, now retired. I offered free constructive feedback on the 15% restocking charge "policy" on the receipt which triggered him into a violent verbal episode resulting in insults to me and my family like I've never heard! He refused to take my item for return with a smirk on his face. I did not say anything but simply left. As I reached the door to leave, he yelled out to take my California attitude with me!!!! Since I am a native Montanan, this was the most insulting thing a person could say, as we natives have truly suffered rudeness from out of staters ruining the peace and gentle respect of our beautiful valley. I should have listened to my gut when he insulted me months ago for inquiring about a product he didn't have. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Horrible customer service! The owner and his sister are shiesty and liars. They don't follow their written return policy on the receipt. Do not purchase an indoor antenna for your TV there they will not accept returns even though verbally was told by the sister they would and on the receipt is well within the return policy. Instead they want you to purchase a more expensive outdoor antenna in exchange only and say they won't accept any returns. If you try to tell them about their written policy on the receipt will say you have a bad attitude and are arguing and refuse to help. Refused to also give a refund for another item on the same receipt. The owner is trying to steal from people and has horrible customer service. Asked me if I was from California just because I didn't want to agree to his made up policy that isn't written anywhere. read more

I would leave a O star if I could.I bought a security camera from them got home & couldn't get it to connect so I went back the next day to return it or get other one the person behind the counter said I don't know what I was doing and he could do it for a $100.00. I said we will, see bet you can't, 45 min later he couldn't do anything with it, this is where it gets good, to return it for a refund there's a 15% restocking fee, but the camera is defective & less than 24 hours old. So I said I'll trade you for the other one on the shelve, got it home only to find it is used, lenses was sketched & everything inside was open. I Return to the store the next day but before I did I went to the police station first to let them know what had happened. The guy behind the counter had a very bad attitude and we were a bit uncomfortable going back. Then I went to the store, the guy that sold it to me said the damage was a manufactured defect so I said I want my money back, ok he said 15% restocking fee! I said again I want my money back, he got mad & told me to get out of his business. I want my money back, he left the building and called the police to have me & my wife arrested. The police did come, they were very helpful. The long & short of my experience is I still lost my 15% on two defective products & I'll never go to any radio shack again . Shame on them for the way they treat customers . So if you had good experience feel lucky. Ps that was 15% on two camera & the scanner radio I didn't mention does not work. This store illustrates why Radio Shack as a brand is mostly out of business. This outfit in Hamilton MT passes itself off as a quality electronics retailer, but it sells knock-off products and counterfeit junk. I know because I bought an HMDI to AV converter there to update an analog TV. The cable included with the converter had two jacks - neither end which is configured to attach to the device, rendering it unusable. There was no HDMI cable and the device needed a standard USB cable, not the FAT cable packaged with the converter. The package contained no official specification documents, and contained contents that lacked identifying product markings - indications the product is either counterfeit or been tampered with. Since I had previous dealings with the store, I did not anticipate a problem in either swapping the product for a converter that worked, or even making a nominal purchase to obtain the correct cable, However, the heavyset joker at the counter sneered at me, told me it was my fault for not immediately noticing the issue, did not apologize for the mistake, would not offer an explanation as to how his store sold unusable goods, and refused to take any corrective action aimed at customer satisfaction. All that despite acknowledging the product that he sold to me packaged incompatible parts and thus would not work. He offered no suggestions or alternatives, and frankly, could have cared less about resolving the issue. The Hamilton MT store is one of the few remaining Radio Shack stores still in operation, so I urge other would-be customers to help accelerate its rapid decline by refusing to patronize this dump. It's entirely possible the store mixes "hot" items with legit products. Save yourself the frustration and headache of dealing with these clowns and avoid the Hamilton MT Radio Shack knockoff joint at all costs. read more

I need an antenna installed on my new house. I went in the store and scheduled an appointment for Thursday, Sept. 3rd. The employee was super nice and happened to be the man who was going to be doing the install. On the 3rd, I left work early to make my appointment. 4 minutes before the appointment time, I received a call. The man who was supposed to do the install was sick and needed to reschedule - no problem. He offered to come on Saturday, Sept. 5th so we agreed to move the appointment to then. However, he never showed up on the 5th, nor did he call me to re-schedule. In the following week, I called the store 3 times. Every time I called, no one answered the phone. I had my mom physically stop in the store while I was working to schedule another appointment, since they don't answer phones. She arranged to have the installer come to my house on Monday, Sept. 14th at 4:00. HE GAVE HER AN APPOINTMENT CARD WITH THE DATE/TIME ON IT. Today was that day and........he never showed up, nor did he call me! When I called the store this time, someone finally answered and said he had just left for an install. I purchased a T-P link router from Radio Shack in Hamilton Montana and AFTER contacting manufacturer about problem with item , i was informed the item was NOT to be sold in the United States of America AND the item was/is a counterfeit . This information was supplied by manufacturer ! I purchased item DIRECTLY from owner of Radio Shack in Hamilton Montana . I called 3 times trying to have owner Steve Strand return my calls , no return call received .
