These folks only sell sod. The install is separate and they have "preferred vendors". I was promised multiple contractors to consider, email, call, meet for estimates but only got one, Mark Turner Grading, I got almost an instant quote and a promise for a free, on-site estimate. After waiting almost 3wks, no more communication from Super-Sod or Mark Turner Grading. I don't recommend this company. read more

We have a pretty small amount of grass on our property so we decided to go ahead and splurge on sod. That was a year ago in March. We had decent looking grass for about 2 months before it started dying. At first when I called SuperSod about it, they told me that it had just been raining too much. When I called them again in October, I was told it was just "dormant like it is supposed to be." This spring when we finally started to see some green growth, it wasn't long before we realized something was still very wrong with this grass. We followed all instructions we were given on the care for this grass. For the last 2 weeks my husband has been in conversations with SuperSod trying to get them to stand behind their product. I am a commercial client with Super-Sod of Marietta. Every time I've had an experience with him over the last 5 years, it has been a pleasant and professional experience. You honestly get what you pay for and the sod world. as I was reading some of the other reviews I got confused whenever you place an order and you go to pick it up you get a receipt at the bottom of the receipt they write down what type of sod you're getting you take it out to the yard and you show one of the forklift drivers and they bring it to you. You don't necessarily have to know what it is because it's written on the actual receipt at the bottom. I've had one or two bad pieces in the past and they have replace them for me no issues or questions asked. They have always been extremely helpful with the weeds, and they're fertilizers. They will even tell you not to put down any fertilizer for 2 or 3 months after the grass has been placed down. They also give you a time that they will be there on your site if you choose delivery, they have always been right on time and placed the song wherever I asked them. they don't get paid to put your grass down so they're not trying to upcharge you and most of the grass as similar and price unless you want Zeon. What I'm simply trying to imply is they're going to basically asked you what shade and sun contents in your yard and they're going to give you a few different options it's your choice to pick which option you would like and what's in your budget. I have spent $20 of them all the way up to about $7,000 on different orders over the years, and I've never had an issue. I can also appreciate the grafting which to me is just it being 2 feet wide and 5 feet long it gives me faster growing time then the small squares. The last thing I'll sayis I'm also a small business I'm probably not their biggest commercial account but they've always treated me with respect and I've always been very helpful. If you're looking for a company that prides itself and treating people no matter how big or small just like if you were a big customer or customer that just needed a pallet of grass they treat you the same. read more

I really wish I could have given a better grade here. Let me start by saying I am just a homeowner and although I have always done my own lawn care and I am a decent gardener, this was my first experience laying sod. I did a little research bought a sod roller, and placed my first order , 2 pallets of fescue, one bag of leveling mix and one soil cube by phone. The sod was beautiful, moist, lush, green. However, I didn't realize the$200 leveling mix was not appropriate for fescue. Not the end of the world, but I wish they had mentioned it when I ordered it alongside the fescue. Next order, one soil cube and another pallet of fescue. This sod looked absolutely nothing like the first. It was dry as dust. It crumbled when I picked it up. I had my doubts, but against my better judgement I went ahead and laid it. I watered and waited , but it was just dead thatch. I called several people provided photos and was going in circles when eventually someone heard me and offered a replacement. All was well again. Next two pallets. Sod was nice, but no mention of their policy that if it had rained in the last 3 days , they were not going to deliver past my driveway. I wouldn't have ordered two pallets had I known how far I was going to have to carry each piece. That bit of info would have been useful. Sod was nice quality though and my dream lawn was almost there. Or so I thought. My last two pallets. My order was cancelled 3 times the day before delivery was scheduled. Now as a customer I need to give 48 hours notice, with a live person to change my order, but they can cancel it the day before. OK, so there goes my vacation time. Well , can't control the weather, right?. Which brings me to today. So I was told my order was cancelled because of they had a field flooded , but not to worry they had two others. Understandable, with all the excess rain as of late. So I have my 2 soil cubes delivered and prep the area for the eventual delivery. But when my last two pallets finally arrived today. They were both an absolute disaster. I immediately told the driver they looked terrible. There were holes and tears in the very top rolls. And that was just what I saw at first glance. Who knew was the others were like. He told me I should just lay the sod and they would replace any bad pieces. Really? I am just supposed to lay down 2 pallets of sod and then re- lay it? 8 am. I unrolled the first piece and showed him it wasn't right. He just left. I called the office after the next 4 pieces were equally awful.9 o'clock Sent pictures. No call back. Called back again twice, no one. Office closed at noon Closed Sundays. Each piece got worse. They were obviously from the flooded field. They were full of bald spots and slime. There was a really funky smell. I have never been in a flood but I bet that's what it smells like. The sod was so wet it tore of shreds just from lifting it. It looked like root rot. There were little blue flags on the sod. Never had flags of any color on any other pallets before. Pretty sure that blue one stood for WET . After getting ZERO response I had to cannibalize one pallet of sod to patch the holes for the other. It was so soaked I had to use the high pressure on my hose just to wash all the slime, mud and funk off the sod. read more

I recently ordered some sod for a small area in my yard. I was truly impressed with how professional and positive the staff were. Best service that I have seen in a very long time. I went to their store on two days. Both times, found personnel most helpful and polite! On the day I picked up sod, it had started raining on us. Employees did not mind and remained positive and wanted to make sure I was satisfied. They loaded my SUV and I left with a true appreciation of their business operations. I've ordered sod from this place twice. The first time I told them we wanted Bermuda, but they talked me into buying the more expensive St. Augustine. I should not have listened to them because it all died. The second time, I ordered two pallets of Bermuda to replace the St. Augustine. It arrived at my house completely dried out. It looked half dead. To make matters worse, the delivery guy dumped the pallets in the middle of my driveway before knocking on my door to ask where I wanted them. When i told him that i needed it moved further back, he tells me he can't and that he doesn't know how to work the fork lift? WTF? He tells me I will have to move the sod with a wheel barrel. He was simply lazy, all he wanted to do was collect the $85 delivery fee and run. I will NEVER use Super-Sod again and I'm telling every one i know to avoid them like the plague. read more

I really enjoy working with Ty Ashworth and Tony at this location they are spectacular. If they're busy they even answer their cell phones for me makes me feel like a superstar. I will never use Super Sod again. I bought 4 pallets of sod. When it was delivered, I noticed the bottom half of one pallet was dry. It was installed and within two weeks the section were the dry grass was installed all died. When I went to pull up the pieces of sod, there was small white wormy bugs all underneath the sod. None of that section of sod rooted even after 4 weeks. I contacted Super Sod and they would not help, they told me it was my fault for not watering enough. Although I watered the required 1" every day for 2 weeks. Horrible, horrible experience. They could have easily made this right by offering to replace the died pieces but they didn't. read more

Poor communication, poor customer service. I emailed trying to give them a credit card because I would not be at home the day of delivery (scheduled three weeks prior). No problem they said. They didn't call me for a credit card as agreed and cancelled my sod delivery. We exchanged emails and to make a long story short, it would be an additional three weeks to get my sod (well past growing season). They missed a sale and I didn't get my sod. A nice "lose lose". Next time, I'll pay extra a work with a reliable landscaping company. read more

These people are fantastic! I entered a drawing at the Home Show for a Big yellow Bag. Not sure why because I am usually afraid of being pestered to death, but I decided I wanted a bag of this stuff. Imagine my surprise when they called and said I won - and it included delivery. They held it for me until Spring and delivered it yesterday. They were very kind to me and have never called to bother me for anything. This is a grade A plus business. read more

Amazing how they are ripping off contractors with the cost of Emerald Zoysia Sod. They claimed they stopped cutting it early last year, made everyone buy practically the same Sod under a different name and charged $100 bucks more. Now they have Emerald Zoysia again and lied and said it's always been $335. And the rude customer service lady I spoke with is why I will never spend another dime with this company, and we bought over 100 pallets of Sod from these crooks. And to top it off, she claims they don't keep records of contractor purchases. read more

I had a very bad experience at this super sod location. I placed an order for Bermuda Tiff Grand. On half of the order, I was given what I paid for. I had to make two trips to pick up the second half of the order, I was given very inferior sod that was half the weight of the first. I asked the loader to make sure that if was Bermuda Tiff Grand and he said that it was. There are two people sitting to the left as you enter the showroom and one person (the point person) sitting to the right of them. When he hears what the person is paying for, he tells the forklift drivers what to give the customer. If you do not know sods and their expected density, you will probably not get what you paid for. read more

My experience with Super Sod, start to finish, was fabulous. They took time to answer all of my questions, both when I was in the store and over the phone. They could not have been a nicer group of people to deal with and are very knowledgeable about their product. Pricing is awesome. I paid $300 for a pallet of Bermuda at Pike Nurseries and 2 days later bought one from Super Sod for less than $200 that was way healthier. Great experience all the way around. read more

I called to place an order for tree grass pallets and after a two days waiting for them the just had two. They said i just order two of them, and that was the order and they could get us another one by Saturday. The guy i talked to was upset and said that the lady that place the order have a lot of experience (making it sound as it was my fault), I needed three pallets to complete a job, it is impossible i order just two. My husband and I went to SuperSod on Saturday afternoon because we are getting ready to redo our whole entire yard (12-15 pallets). When we went in, the gentleman finishes his conversation on the phone and greets and asks us what he could do for us. Well, my husband and I are not grass experts and depended on their staff to help us gain the knowledge we needed to put the correct type of sod down. He was so rude and talked to us in the tone that was not appreciated. As I was trying to explain to him the type of environment we had in our yard and the amount of sunlight our yard was exposed to, he kept tell us the type of sod we were interested would be a waste of money and that it would die. How about giving us some ideas as to what we could do instead of bashing the ones we were advised by other? After speaking to this gentleman for about 5 minutes or so, he sends us outside to look at the different sods that were displayed in the front of the building. I guess it was too hot that Saturday afternoon for him to walk us around and educating us the different types of sods that were displayed outside. We walked around for a few minutes, then my husband got so annoyed because of the lack service we were receiving. We got back into the car to find another company to go to. Needless to say, the service was awful. When we are looking to spend about $3,000 with a company, I would expect to have some service that was more interested in helping the customer. read more

I've been a Super Sod customer for over 10 years, and the personal, knowledgeable, genuine service they provide is second to none! I purchased sod (Bermuda) last year to fill in a spots where I had trees removed. I didn't take their advice and didn't water the sod enough, and I thought it died. It actually looked that bad. I showed the pictures to Karie, and she told me it could be saved. She gave me step-by-step instructions on what I should do, and she followed up to make sure her suggestions helped. It WORKED! Thanks Karie! You saved me over $200 by taking the time to explain everything. I was about to purchase new sod. After all, it was my fault. I would HIGHLY recommend Super Sod. Karie, Tony and Ashley don't just "sell stuff"...they know their products. Some companies are good at selling, but their employees don't have the knowledge to answer follow-up questions.
