It is highly recommended that you plan your transportation before you land. Walking through taxi, van, car, and time share vendors is the closest a guy will experience what it must be like for a girl walking passing a fraternity. We had Super Shuttle planned ahead of time (via Expedia), so I just put on mental blinders and walked out of the airport. This company is terrible and you should never take use them. They're basically thieves/con men. When I arrived at the airport I did not see the transport that was organized by my hotel, so while I was waiting on the phone with the hotel to find out where my reservation was I booked a taxi. After talking to my hotel I realized that there had been a mixup and they were sending someone over. I went back and tried to cancel the taxi which I had already paid for and to ask for a refund. that's when all of the trouble started. They refused to refund my money and when I threatened to call American Express and reverse the charge they reluctantly obliged, minus a 20% cancellation fee. Then while we were waiting for our driver they kept constant tabs on us and the moment that our ride showed up they came over and started to harass the driver. They tried to prevent us from leaving. We had an argument and they took pictures of the car and of the drivers license plate and ID . They were shady as hell. They're basically crooks I wouldn't trust them to walk me down the street. I strongly recommend that you book transportation through your hotel or use anyone other than the taxi service / Super Shuttle from the airport. Booked Super Shuttle through Expedia for airport pick-up up and drop off. I give them a 5-Star as both our drivers are very professional and friendly keeping our safety in mind. (If you are in Cancun and think they drive a little crazy, they don't compared to others including the buses. Arrival driver's name was Daniel, or Danny as he wanted to be called. Our pick-up was at night, so we could not see much except the signs on the expressway going towards our hotel in the Hotel Zone (Zona Hoteles). Danny got us there quickly going around slower traffic safely, and trust me, some drivers will cut you off without a moments notice. Departure driver's name was Ares. He was quiet and did not say much. But when you asked him a question or needed something, he was informative and friendly. He did not rush us one bit, which some drivers (taxi) usually made you feel "rushed". Overall, our experience was Outstanding and I would definitely use Super Shuttle the next time we are in Cancun. read more

I have used Super Shuttle in Cancún several times, both outbound and inbound, they have a brand new fleet of shuttle vans and individual sedans, the counter staff and drivers are friendly, service is generally timely, and the price is reasonable (about $50 round trip for two). Going out of the airport usually takes a moment waiting in line, but you can opt for an individual sedan if you don't want to wait. I booked a private (not shared van) through a third party vacation/reservation site, a round trip to and from Playa Mujeres cost me about $90 Canadian! I paid in advance through that company. All I needed to do is to call the company a day before the trip just to confirm the pickup time. Our flight landed on time, and took us some time to get the luggage. Once we exited the airport, the company's manager/rep was out waiting, he called the driver and we waited maybe 5 minutes max! The driver shows up in a private van, not shared by other travellers, the van was spotless clean and cold/air conditioned, the manager sets us off with the driver, the ride was very smooth and driver was very professional. For the return flight, I did the same thing, called them the day before and they were already aware of all details. The van shows up about 5/10 minutes late due to the high security of the resorts complex, picks us up and drops is at the airport on time. All paid off, flawless experience. read more

Made a reservation online a day or so before out trip. The good parts: - using our AAA membership we were able to get a small discount of 20% - price worked out to $8 per person per ride from the Cancun Airport to the JW Marriott Hotel The bad parts: - got to the Airport to find nobody around outside. Nobody from the company was in sight, so no sign, no names, no directions, Nadal! - had to go back inside to the Super Shuttle desk just for them to say "if you booked online then go figure it out outside with the staff" - errr what staff!? - eventually found one van parked in the corner and found one if the staff. Guess what, he told us the same thing as inside (good job at playing the blame game) - so as we're walking around (with all out luggage) for 30 minutes we run into a stranger who seems to be helping others find their rides - after much debate, confusion, phone calls, and another umpteen minutes he finally gets us into an unbranded white van (sounds sketch already) a day we mage our way to the hotel. We ended up at our destination just fine (thankfully) but the whole experience was rather sour and it might have been worth it, in the interest of time and convenience, to just take a cab albeit like double the price... I wish that I had read the Yelp reviews before my trip to Cancun this week!!! DO NOT BOOK with SUPERSHUTTLE in Cancun. The hotel concierge even told us at the Hotel that they are well-known for not showing up! There is nothing like the panic, when your airport shuttle is 30 minutes late to pick you up for an international flight, and the company will not answer the phone. I called (5) times, and when I finally spoke to a human, she transferred me to another woman (apparently a subcontracted car service), who told me that they did not have my reservation, and that it must be another subcontracted car service. I think it's a hit or mess with this company specially when you're on a vacation and they know you're a tourist so they try to manipulate you to make sure they get the most money out of you possibly. I ended up getting a round-trip from this company and they say they will charge you up to four people the same price but then again they can change their mind depending on how they feel about it. If they see a struggling tourist then they definitely make sure to give you the highest price possible which is don't really think it's fair. I ended up going to this company to one of the resource I was about 30 to 40 minutes away and supposedly they charge me full price on the way to go but 40% off on the way to return. What I didn't like was so they are inconsistency with their prices and they make up prices as they go which is not right. So if you don't negotiate with them they'll just put the highest price and then you could say sure because you don't really know. My sister had an issue with them because she arrived early to the airport and they wanted to charge her $60 one-way when I only paid about $43 round-trip so they're rip off if you don't know who you're dealing with. But on the way to return I got a taxi because it wasn't during the normal hours so they have you on a private taxi but the driver was driving recklessly which I don't understand why. But on the way to go the driver was very good and there was no problem. I think for next time I will definitely book in advance to make sure I don't have to go through this hassle and charge less. My wife and I spent 8 days in Akumal and we booked an entire travel package through one agency including private shuttle service to and from the airport. The agency used Super Shuttle for that service. The shuttle from the airport was just OK. We had to wander around outside the airport to find them, then we got passed around several times and told to "wait here" a few times before we finally got a driver. The driver was very friendly and did a great job getting us to our resort in a timely manner. The private van was OK but had no free drinks or snacks like many of the other private shuttles did. However, the real trouble began with our shuttle back to the airport. I emailed back and forth with Super Shuttle a couple times including the day before we left when they confirmed our pick-up date and time. We were supposed to be picked up at 9am but when nothing had arrived by 9:10 I began to worry. I called the number on the confirmation email and was asked to press "1" for English which I did. Unfortunately, the guy that answered barely spoke any English at all. After several minutes of trying to explain that our shuttle hadn't arrived, he finally understood and put me on hold for quite a long time. He finally came back and said that it wasn't their fault, the travel agency had "given them the wrong date" and they had no shuttles for us. I then pointed out that the confirmation email I received from them just the day before had the correct date on it. He asked who the email came from and I told him "Super Shuttle". He then asked, "Yeah but who's name did it come from". I gave him the name and he then claimed there was no one at Super Shuttle with that name. What a load of total nonsense! After some choice words on my end, he then told me Super Shuttle would reimburse me for a taxi cab to the airport that I had to arrange myself but they wouldn't reimburse me for the cost of the private shuttle that I paid for that never arrived. All of the R&R and de-stressing I'd banked that week immediately went right out the window as by now I was seeing red. So instead of a nice private shuttle, we ended up in a hot dirty taxi with a driver that blared gangster rap music over badly rattling speaks and drove like a maniac. After a lot of emails and phone calls over several weeks, I finally got Super Shuttle to reimburse the cab fare as they had promised and also got them to reimburse the cost of the shuttle that never arrived. Next time I come to Mexico, I'll definitely be arranging my own transportation and it won't be with this awful company. read more

I booked transportation with SuperShuttle Mexico through Expedia without reading the reviews on here, so I was a bit worried upon arriving to the airport in Cancun. I ended up having a perfect experience with SuperShuttle for my round trip transportation. We arrived to the airport around noon and as soon as we made our way out of customs and picked up our luggage, we found the SuperShuttle desk right away. I told the woman I had a voucher to Expedia and she directed me where to go outside. Outside, there were many different shuttles, but I found mine right away. We waited about 10 minutes for the other passengers (shared shuttle, but only two other groups). We got to our hotel around at around 1pm. Leaving our hotel a few days later was even easier. I confirmed the night before and they said the driver would arrive to our lobby at 1:10 and he arrived exactly at 1:10. This driver was very friendly and talkative, which was nice. We didn't pick up any passengers and he got us to the airport in 30 min. Overall, great experience with SuperShuttle. On a side note, I would encourage tipping the drivers. They drive long hours (12 hour shifts at times), have to navigate through the crazy traffic, etc. read more

I understand not everyone can have a good experience when it comes to traveling & using certain services I was a bit surprised by the bad reviews my first time using this service & it was perfect. Upon arrival u make your way outside find the rep & they bring you to the line here I waited maybe 10-15 minutes before leaving not bad. Full load this time around Once we got going it was an easy ride made it to my hotel ok. We confirmed rsvp the night before leaving my only complain here is that they pick u up too early 3 hours in advance is just too much. Pick up was on time which is good easy ride this time as my pick up was empty I asked the driver to do me a favor & please stop by the Cancun sign he had no issues with that. Ride to the airport was nice & smooth no problems got there w so much damm time kinda sucked I get that they have a lot of people to pick up specially during busy times but 3 hours early when the airport is what 20-30 minutes away is just way too early did come to find out from the driver that when it's not busy time u can adjust your pick times by an hour which lets face it is so much better an extra hour drinking at the beach or waiting in the airport?? When I arrived to departures, there was not a Super Shuttle representative to be found - even the Super Shuttle desk was abandoned. Don't give them your business. We were approached by a Super Shuttle employee who asked us if we needed help. We told the employee we were looking for a different shuttle company and she mentioned that she had not seen the company but offered to call them since she "had a friend that worked there" and walked away. She returned quickly with her cell phone telling us she had reached the dispatcher with the company we had the reservations with and we could talk to him. This "dispatcher" informed us of an accident on the highway and they were several hours delayed. He then hurried to hang up the phone because they were"very busy". Super Shuttle worked very quickly to make sure we had a ride to Playa Del Carmen. I was really impressed until... Halfway to Playa Del Carmen we get an E-mail. The company we had originally booked with had been waiting for us the whole time. That Super Shuttle employee never called the other company and tricked us into booking with her and Super Shuttle. I screwed up, I should've asked more questions to avoid this scam. Fair play to Super Shuttle and this employee for getting me with this stupid tourist trick. I tried contacting the number in the US, and was hung up on multiple times. On my final attempt to contact them, they no longer had a record of my reservation! Communication skills and customer service needs major improvement. We were put on hold various times after trying to confirm our flight back home since the shuttle bus was already a half hour late. I booked super shuttle because it seemed convenient and I was in Mexico for a wedding, so it was a "no worry" kind of trip. It wasn't cheap but it was quick and efficient. They told me they would have representatives at my resort and I could book my return trip there. I bought the return ticket because it was a significant discount. Then when it comes for the return it seems like they didn't care at all and were satisfied with the fact that they already had my money. They wouldn't come pick me up. They suggested I took a cab. Their representatives could not be found. They told me I could write an email for an 80% refund, but there are no guarantees I would get it. At this point there was still 6 hrs to my flight and the airport is 30 minutes away. I said can we avoid the hassle of arguments, emails, and general waste of time. They can just get a car and come pick me up. And I'd still have 4+ hrs at the airport. They said that's not how things work and then told me I was in the top 2% of stupid customers for suggesting it. They will get you if you don't know any better, But here's the breakdown & some pointers.... 1. They are present. You see signs/posters, a lot of workers in the blue shirts, chauffeurs, and even an official looking desk, so they look legit and automatically gain trust. 2. They never offer for you to purchase round trip. No one wants to be stuck in Mexico, but they know that ppl assume the hotels have a shuttle back to the airport. Well, a lot don't, they have a taxi service which costs more than double the shuttle. 3. If you purchase round-trip, in-person or online(their site, or expedia) make sure you are charged round trip and have the return date and pick up time in writing. Associate thought she purchased round trip, but was only charged one way. Didn't realize until flight check-in time. 4. Know that without a reservation, they will only pick you up from the hotel if they have someone scheduled to go from the airport to your hotel. 5. Know your $$$ and Pesos. They asked if iwas paying US $ or Pesos. I was told that the ride would be $20(US) or 600Pesos ($30 US)... The one sign listed a ride as 300Pesos, which I now know is about $15 (US). They got me. I paid 20, bcuz it was an even amount, it was convenient, and at the time I just didn't know. SuperShuttle was no help, even after I downloaded the app, so I got back to the airport with a online reservation from CancunShuttle.com. I reserved, they confirmed, I printed it, and waited(and had a drink or 2 while waiting.) Wish Super Shuttle had been that easy, but you can't knock them for being Airport hustlers! read more

We've used Supershuttle now two times in 5 years going to the Excellence Playa Mujeres. Both times we've pre-booked and had a private shuttle scheduled. The only daunting experience is actually getting through the crazy timeshare/people everywhere part of the airport. I confirmed our shuttle a few days prior with Edith. We arrived at 2:30, made it through the Cancun Aiport gauntlet and were on a shuttle and to our resort by 3:45. Straight through no issues. We left days later at 4 am. Driver was there at 3:55 to pick us up and no issues getting back to the airport. read more

We walked out to the transportation area, and a man working in the central booth asked us where we were going. I asked the man if we needed to call to confirm the pickup and he quickly replied "NO!". Our driver from the airport to the hotel was friendly. I stood there and heard her read the reservation name and confirmation number. She said "Yes, they said they will be here at 6am". So there we are at 6am waiting for our pickup to the airport, and no one shows up. The hotel tried calling the 24-hour number for the Super Shuttle, but it was conveniently closed. We waited 15 minutes before grabbing a taxi. My boyfriend sent a the company a tweet asking why they never showed up to pick us up for the ride we paid for, and the company replied asking if we confirmed. We got this service from the airport to Iberostar with a return trip scheduled. Terrible service. 1.) They said they would call and confirm our car, they didn't. 2.) their information on their paperwork was wrong, while the info on our receipt was correct. They never showed and when we called we were bluntly told they weren't coming. Had to hire another taxi which was cheaper to begin with. Be careful because super shuttle is who the "tourist info" personnel direct you to.
