I live NEXT DOOR to their business so I wanted to support my local business. I explained my battery light kept flashing on and off and did they have time to visibly look at it (thinking maybe the connections may be bad). I was willing to wait if indeed the battery was the problem for a repair. It couldn't have taken more than 5 min to just look. The woman on the phone didn't ask any further questions, just dismissed me and said we don't have any openings today. Horrible customer service. Uncaring, inflexible and rude. Definitely no "going above and beyond" or "fitting me in". I'm an older single woman with grandchildren to drive around. So disappointed.

The rental company wanted to charge me for a tow and a full tire replacement, talk about stressful! It was a Saturday and most shops were either closed or too far away. I found Rick's Car Care on Yelp and saw they were listed as open until noon. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door saying they were actually closed on Saturdays. I decided to knock anyway, and I'm so glad I did! To my surprise, a gentleman named Jimmi answered the door. After I explained the situation, he graciously offered to take a look at my tire, despite being closed for the day. He quickly assessed the damage and was able to fix it with a simple plug. Not only did Jimmi go out of his way to help me, but he also treated me fairly and didn't try to overcharge me just because I was from out of town. The whole repair was fast, VERY affordable, and I was back on the road in under 10 minutes. Jimmi was an absolute lifesaver! His kindness and willingness to help a stranger truly made my day. It is unclear after taking my vehicle to the dealership whether or not I was lied to because I am female, possibly even because I am African-American or whether or not these individuals need to be retrained on how to do their job. I was told that one of my tires has a 3/32 tread and that it needs to be changed immediately, causing them to refuse to do the tire rotation the entire reason I chose this location. The dealership mentioned that all of my tires are in fact 6/32 and they measured them multiple times. so was I lied to ? Because they simply didn't feel like doing the work, it's unclear. I was then told that I had an oil leak. In fact I do not have an oil leak. Someone messy poured oil into in area, causing it to slowly drip down in several places underneath the vehicle. I've lost an entire Friday thinking that I needed two new tires and to repair an engine leak. I was essentially overcharged and lied to and was not given a tire rotation as requested then told I needed additional work done on my vehicle when in fact, I did not. I wish there was a way to give this place zero stars. It's been a headache for no reason. I can't tell if these men are simply misogynistic and predators or if they're idiots. Additionally, I sent an email requesting possibly an alignment to see if perhaps that's why the tread on my tires has gone down so quickly. I was ignored. So, I've been going to schetters for years. These new people took it over. I thought "New…read moregeneration" meant from the same family I figured they would have the same values. But I'm here to warn you. I've had a very distressing experience today. I spent $880 in cash to get my brakes front brakes front rotors and front wheel bearings. I got a discount for cash and I thought this was a really good price. Previously I had been to the new generation version of this shop to replace my muffler and they did a great job and gave me a great price so I was pretty confident going in. When I got my car back it was pulling to the left to the point where if I let go of the steering wheel I'm doing donuts. I asked them to please fix it and they told me to bring it in but they did not do alignment. My argument is that if you're doing a job that requires an alignment why would you do the job in the first place if you can't do alignment? On top of that they told me after they looked at it that the spring was broken and it would take $550 to replace it. Mind you this is how it was driving the second I pulled out of the shop. Within 10 minutes of me driving away the check engine light comes on. I checked the code it's a large evap leak. I've had this car for many years and I've never had a problem with the EVAP leak. Replace the gas cap still there's a problem. I asked them to look at this when I brought it in and they said they had to replace all these parts and that would cost over $600. From my point of view they damaged my car and are trying to ask me for money to fix the damage that they did. They fixed some things and broke some things and are trying to get me to pay to fix the things they broke. Which from other anecdotal experiences seems like a situation where I am being scammed. When I went to the shop before it was taken over by the new generation they would never have done this. Not in a million years. In fact one time I had my radiator replaced and when I went home I was still having problems when I brought it back they said it was the thermostat that also needed to be replaced and they did that for free because they had missed it and did not quote me on it. Also if for any reason something goes wrong after the work that they did especially if I'm driving home I would bring it back and they would fix it. They always told me this. I need to warn people not to go here. This is classic scamming issue with mechanics what they are doing. If it wasn't they would fix their own mistakes. And it really sucks that they use the name to piggyback off of the good reputation of the original Schetter's.
