I like it here and started giving Janey Lovin. That's all I need even though he looks cute as a button when we leave and she finds mats that I don't even know are there.. she also waited for me as I got a piece of metal in my tire on the way to pick up my dog. Thought I would go early to take pictures with my new camera on her land. Ended up at Sullivan tire and needed a whole new tire and they were great too. TY Janey

Lots of space for pets, and a great variety of treats for all tastes. My very picky eater loved the peanut butter & pumpkin biscuits 'state of Maine' cookies (and, yes, we got a bag on our way out). I visit this lovely boutique once or twice a year when I visit my sister in this dog-friendly town…read more Despite it's size, I almost always find what I am looking for and usually a few things I am not, but can't resist buying anyway:) We've gotten high-quality treats, grooming supplies, toys, and a life-jacket for my terrier to wear when we go kayaking and canoeing. This last item is essential for our Wolfeboro trips as my dog hates kayaking and canoeing and will try to jump out if we are within 10 feet of shore. My sister often buys my dog, Murrie, little presents from here, including a stuffed duck that made real quacking noises until Jake, her AmStaff mix buddy, bit it a little too hard, and now it just makes crunchy plastic noises. (It's still Murrie's favorite toy.) We just went back to get a Replacement Duck, but they were out, so we got treats instead. The always-helpful, always-kind staff offered to order Replacement Duck for us, but since we were leaving the next day, we told them we'd be back next summer And we certainly will.

Candy, the owner, is gracious, but is also very, very busy (which is good!). Entering her business is not frightening at all - she always has decorations up and it always smells good walking downstairs. Yes, her business is in her basement, but it is professional looking and she is always so sweet with my husky, who loves getting groomed there. I've been taking my Phoebe to Candy for over two years now and have never, ever had a problem. I still say she is better than Petco and most other local groomers, but that is just my own personal opinion. Give her a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. I hope the other reviewer found someone she likes.

I brought our Border Collie here when we first moved to the area. She did a relatively good job…read morewith the grooming. The facility is in the basement of her house. It has a hodgepodge of "finishing" that she clearly did herself. It's frightening to enter alone. My dog wouldn't hurt a fly so I was tempted to leave rather than walk down the isles of walls made out of Japanese style folding screens and other pieces of furniture she appears to have found and stacked next to one another to make "walls" until I found my way through the "isles", down the stairs, and into the basement where she was waiting. However, the facility is not my biggest gripe. My reason for writing this review is her idea of Customer Service and positive Public Relations. Her website recommends emailing her for an appointment.. so that is what I did the next time we needed an appointment (4 months later). She offered me a date a few weeks later, and I reply within 48 hours that the date works for us. Here is her reply to my acceptance: I have only a handful of appts left in Dec now, I will need to reserve those for my regular clients. Katherine at Green Dog does an excellent job. First of all, she had already offered me the appointment, and then she took it away? Who has ever heard of a respectable business owner doing that? Second of all, she is saving her appointments for her "regular clients"? I planned on bringing this dog to her every time the dog needed grooming for the rest of her life. The dog is a Border Collie, she does not need to be groomed professionally frequently ... 4 times a year is more than sufficient. I would consider myself a "regular client"! I have a lot of dogs in my life... ones I dog-sit for, ones I foster for rescues, plus my own. She just lost a lot of potential income due to her ignorance in how to run a business.
