Best part was surprisingly the arm massage, my masseur using a unique and effective method and technique to apply pressure to my sore muscles. The foot massage was thorough, attention paid to each individual toe and a rolling tool used to massage the bottom of my feet, with good pressure as well. However, the repetitive stroking of my lower legs was not as effective as other parts of the massage. At least it brought some relief to my calf pain from a charley horse earlier in the day. Quite a bit of chatter (in Chinese) going on in the shared room consisting of 6-8 massage beds (available for customers getting the clothed foot massage or treatments not requiring a private room), so it's not the most peaceful experience. But I didn't mind as they charged an affordable price and the session left me feeling rejuvenated in the end. Friendly staff too. The massage is good but the forceful tip is what lost us and would not be coming back. The lady at the front desk and the masseuse was initially nice and accommodating. I've seen the lady argued in their foreign language with the 2 previous customer while we were at the waiting area, I assumed maybe it's just them. After we got our massages which was not a full massage it was only foot and like they said "complimentary head, neck and shoulders" which they didn't fully give my husband. I was giving a 10% tip and the man and lady DEMANDED that we give more than $10 tip EACH. My husband gave them $15 each to get it over with, and they were ungrateful and gave us a nasty look. As usual the 1 hr body massage $60.00 was great! I did not get the lady's name. But very strong and I told her where it hurt. She took care of me well. I looked to find her to tip $10.00. So I just went up front to pay. I told the lady it was tip for my masseuse. She just gave me a dirty look n then said "tip 15.00 minimum" I said "Excuse me. That's her tip 10.00" She kept insisting and put a separate machine for tip on counter. At this point I was pissed off! The gaul of this woman and so rude! I am rating based on massage quality, service and overall vibe of the place. First of all, I'd avoid this place in the future. Because the massage was not the worst I've ever had but pretty low on the whole scale. I have specially asked to skip some area to particularly focus on other area in their native language (so no English issue here), my request was ignored. Maybe they just only had 1 type of routine ‍. Secondly, I tip based on the performance not necessarily how explain it is to live here in the bay. If it's a great massage, I don't mind tip 30-40% but to have the house manager specifically ask for a amount and tell me my tip was not enough is not a good business practice. Third, the vibe was not relaxing. People who worked there were not friendly, sheets are old and moldy spell, you can hear everyone's conversation even when you had a separate room. Massage was mediocre at best. The massage therapist massaged very quick and at times was rough. Staff (including my masseuse) was loudly talking at different times during my 90 minute massage, which made for an unrelaxing experience. When I told this to the front desk person, she said that I should have booked a private room if I wanted relaxation. When asked how much I wanted to tip, I told her $10. She said no and bullied me into tipping more. I tipped $12 ($2 isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things and if I felt that the massage therapist deserved a 20% or higher tip, I would gladly leave that). When I told her that I didn't agree, she said that $10 is the minimum tip for a 60 minute massage and for more than 60 minutes I must leave more. I told her there is no tipping rules posted anywhere and she became snarky with me and stated, "we've been here for more than 10 years and everyone knows that so I'm going to remind you". 1st Visit: So, I made an afternoon appointment and I arrived about 20 minutes late. I decided to be honest when I arrived and let the host know that I made an appointment and I was late. Before I told him this, he was ready to set me up with a massage therapist. After I said this, he says, "Hmm, let me check my book." Knowing that was a weak move, I interjected, "So, what time do you close?" Implying two things: 1) I know you're open super late and there's no way you're booked solid until 10PM and 2) I can come back. Needless to say, he reverted back setting me up with a massage therapist then and there. So, the massage was just okay. The best part was the technique and how gentle the therapist was. He used a few stretches and hit a few pressure points that other massage therapists haven't. However, he was a bit too gentle. 2nd Visit: I was turned away because I didn't have an appointment. The receptionist scheduled me an appointment for later that day at 6PM. Then, she called me to say someone canceled and that I could come at 5:00. I agreed to 5:30. I arrived late at 5:50. She then told me, sorry we can't fit you in. And she was super rude when she said it. Really disappointed that this place couldn't accommodate me but even more angered by the way I was spoken to by the receptionist. 3rd Visit: By far my worst experience yet. The massage was not my biggest concern. The problem occurred when I paid for the service. I received a 30 minute foot massage for $15. I handed the masseuse a $2 tip. He then followed me to the register. I handed the lady at the desk $20 expecting $5 in return. Instead, she takes the $5 owed to me and attempts to hand it to the masseuse. I told her that I already gave him a tip, at which point she shook her head and made a gasping noise. I was shocked that she would insist upon me tipping more than I wanted to. At that point, I told her that the Yelp reviews for this business are subpar largely due in part to this policy of tipping. She replied that, "It doesn't matter...we're always busy." I asked her if it's required to tip $5 and she said that's a minimum. I asked her why doesn't she post a sign stating that. She replied, "Everybody knows that...these people don't work for free." So, take it how you want but I am disgusted and offended as a result of this blatant disrespect. They literally tried to bully me into tipping. It's become a norm and a culture at this establishment and it is not acceptable. My suggestion is that this place learn its lesson by way of a boycott. Listen to all the 1 star reviews here. They are terrible! Came here thinking to get some relief but they laugh at you when you request softer massage or harder massage. On top of that, the massage is sub par. They use cheap plastic to cover the towels and then remove the sheets and do a spray after you're done. They don't even replace the towels! This is a totally honest review. Despite the terrible one star reviews regarding tip (which I think is incredibly ridiculous). I think it's completely fair to leave a $10+ tip for a "foot massage". Their foot massage is basically a full body massage! They start with soaking your feet in water and start massaging you starting from your head to your hands, then feet. Afterwards, they flip you over to do your back and shoulders. All of this for $30 for a full hour. They keep their prices low to gain more volume, but people should seriously tip! Who the hell tips $5 for a massage? It's apparent that there is a language barrier as they don't speak fluent English. The setting definitely isn't as intimate or professional as a good Thai/deep tissue massage, but it gets the job done for a quick tension-release sesh. I'd say come here with an open mind and just tip $10. I'm sure the employees here are making minimum wage so tip is what they live off of. That's literally $40 for an hour of full body massage. I visited Super Foot Spa because it's my friends regular spot. I was amazing that the foot service included whole body and head massage and rates were reasonably priced. My friends used various staff members in the past so I felt a bit more comfortable. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience as I wasn't given the choice of the gender of the staff. The person sounded female but turned out to be a man. The environment was dimly lit, and the staff had a mask on. When the person removed the towel in the end, I felt an inappropriate tap on my private area. I haven't heard of anyone else encountering such a situation here or at any other places. I hope the business addresses this issue, as customers should never feel violated. read more

We usually go some place else for a fb (full body) massage. Since we are in the area and would like to relax our tired muscles, we booked a full body massage for 2 in a couples room. Maybe 15-20 minutes after the massage started we started hearing conversations on top of what supposed to be their relaxing background music. The conversation gets louder and louder. I've told my masseuse that the conversation is very loud. The other masseuse "shush" them. It stopped for a few but loud conversations accompanied with laughs sounded like a revenge lol started to happen. Massage was ok. When we were paying, we've told the lady up front (she said she's the manager) about it and she said that she didn't hear anything loud and gave us that look. As if we're hearing things. We told her that she wouldn't have missed it if she's inside the premises because 4 of us heard it. Then she said that somebody's teaching another person to speak English. Really? Subpar massage starts of with unclean practices. They don't replace towels and just lay down a thin, small roll of mesh that barely covers the massage table. Don't expect for almost $60 that you will get a back massage under your clothing. Masseuse just pressed on back without actually touching the skin. Although this was a 90 min a massage, there are lots of other foot spas that massage the skin under clothing with relief of pain. I wish there was a Super Foot Spa or equivalent where I am currently living! I was first introduced to this place over 2 years ago by my cousin, who is a local in the area. I never get massages, and so BOTH of my massage experiences have been with Super Foot -- that's saying a lot! (For those who are more experienced with the massage scene in the Bay Area - feel free to comment otherwise!) What made this place so awesome for me? The quality of the massage for the showstopping price. Both times, I had the $20 foot massage... BUT it's more than just a foot massage! It's like a whole body massage, starting in the supine position from your forehead down to the toes, finishing with your entire back and neck in the prone position. The masseuse applied an awesome amount of pressure and hit all the right knots. I left feeling so refreshed, relaxed, and happy! Other: make sure to call ahead of time to make a reservation especially on weekends, as they can get quite busy. You can request either male or female masseuses. Free parking in the adjoining lot. If you are going to come often (and why not...), buy 10 massages and get 2 free! My cousin and I were able to apply our 2 current massages to the 'membership' we bought, even at the end of our visit. (Yes, multiple people can hold a membership.) Just make sure to not lose the card that they give you -- they don't keep track otherwise... Super Foot Spa just opened not even a week ago in the site of the old Blossom makeup shop. The name is not very creative, but as long as the massage is indeed super, that's all that matters. As you probably have guessed, this is another one of those Chinese owned foot and body massage places that have sprouted up in recent years, many with varying levels of success. I'm not one to normally do massages, as I've only gotten three previously my entire life (in Napa, Maui, and San Gabriel at another Chinese place), so I wouldn't say that I'm a formative expert by any means, but for a grand opening rate of $14.99 per hour for foot massage, and $34.99 for full body, I was willing to take the plunge. After months of nonstop yogasthenics and parkour training, my aching muscles were in need of some of TLC, and although hesitant at first to try a brand new place, since I was in the area, I decided to give Super a whirl. As mentioned, my basis for comparison is quite limited, but all I know is that the full body massage I received last night was pretty darn soothing! My masseuse was a somewhat short, stocky, relatively young female (probably late 20's to early 30's, and no more than 40 for sure, since you can't tell with Chinese genes), and wow, did she pack some power in those fingers. Now, I'm not going to say that I'm the buffest dude by any stretch, but I've been told that my physique is often difficult to massage. Not for this little dynamo! She was getting deeeep into the tissues, and I'm not going to lie... it did hurt a bit, but a good kind of pain, of course! All those months and years of accumulated build up were soon alleviated in a matter of minutes. As with most Chinese places, they are not as strict on the cover sheet as your usual western spa. Your glutes are typically exposed, but the bottom part is covered up, so the genitalia is hidden from view. If you are shy about this, you may want to reconsider, but as the saying goes, it's not anything they haven't seen before. The outer area is where the foot massage takes place, with a bunch of cots in an open space with no privacy. The foot rub normally also includes a tiny bit of the body as well, but obviously, the main focus is on the feet. The full body massage is done in the private back rooms. The funny thing is that since Super Foot Spa is surrounded by restaurants, you can hear the kitchen staff talking and cooking, with sizzling woks and spatulas clanging away. If you are the type that needs absolute dead silence to enhance your zen experience, this may be a bit of a distraction, but I thought it was simply hilarious. Throughout all my years of being involved in exercise and fitness, I've always known that regularly scheduled massages should be part of the protocol. Up until now, I've never followed this rule, since I didn't feel the cost was worth it, but at $35 a pop (plus tips), I think I might just have to start becoming a regular. read more

I asked where it was posted that it had to be $10 and he couldn't tell me other than he said I needed to tip that much. Since I left the seven dollar tip on my credit card, I had some extra cash to make up for the $10 but I will most likely not be coming back. I told the lady to do it soft but she can't understand what I'm saying. I told her that it hurts but she just kept going. She kept putting pressure to the same spot over and over again.
