I had a massage by Judy for the 2nd time yesterday and just like the first time, she not only got all the kinks out but I felt sooooo relaxed once I got home!! Even tho Judy's English is not that well, her communication is excellent when she needs me to turn around or something. Her massage techniques are gentle yet powerful. Some of her techniques reminded me of when my grandmother used to massage me esp when I got my period The spa place itself could use a little touch-up but the lady that's at the front (owner?) is very friendly and checks with you where the pain areas are. She also prefers cash to avoid the transaction fees which we were not aware of the first time but I came prepared the second time. But the prices are very reasonable and in my case, I definitely got more than I paid for. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Judy again next month read more

Another amazing massage in the books! I highly recommend coming to Mia for a massage. I ended up getting a 90 minute massage with cupping. Mia does such a good job at finding the pain points and really digging in. Much needed massage. I walked in with shoulder and low back pain and I walked out feeling so much relief and all the tension released. read more

Got a couple massage it was really good would definitely come back again. Place is very clean!!

I have been coming here for a long time now. I have been to many other massage places in the area and after years of looking for the right place I finally found it and this is where I will keep coming. Ella and Mia are absolutely life savers. I suffer from chronic pain from a near fatal car accident 40 years ago. Here I get the help I need to feel better. I always show them what areas I need them to focus on. When they start working on me it's very clear that from their years of experience, they very quickly know exactly what is going on in my body, and they know exactly how to loosen me up and relieve my pain. I let them know what level of pressure I like in each place through out the process. What areas to do a little extra or go back to later. The important thing is communication. I get a great therapeutic massage at a very fair price every time. When I walk out I am so happy, it feels like a miracle for me to be pain free. I love that when I pay in cash I save a little money. If they do not have to pay the extra percentage to the credit card company, then they do not charge you for it. Wow! I love that when I pay for a 90 minute massage, I actually get a full 90 minutes of massage, or even a little more some times. They are very thorough and want you to feel good. This is not a fancy spa, it's a simple, cute and clean place. They are not going to try to sell you a bunch of extras. They are going to help you feel better. Thank you ladies, see you soon! read more

I've visited this spa three times now, and each time, I've left feeling rejuvenated and satisfied. My fiancé recently gifted me a 5 message gift certificate because I keep raving about this place. I used to prefer Thai massages, but I've come to like Chinese massages more. It seems like the therapists here have a good understanding of pressure points and lymphatic drainage. read more

This is a follow up from my very first visit a month ago with Mia. I've had about three sessions with her on the same area of my shoulder and neck with an excruciating pain. She continues to amaze me with her focus in detail work on the specific area in pain. She has me on every two weeks schedule for 90 minutes massages. It's perfect for me as my pain calls for her relief. I am grateful that the pain has eased off significantly since my first visit with her I look forward to our session. read more

Very polite and professional. I was greeted with a smile and a warm presence, and the service itself was outstanding. I could feel the knots being worked out of me and muscles being relaxed. I left feeling amazing. Plus, this place is close to my home so i will definitely be back. -- Thank you again read more

If you love deep tissue massage, Lisa is your girl. I'm sure they had other types of massages, but I prefer deep tissue. The place is nice and clean, and you for sure get your monies worth. read more

Newark Excellent Massage - Lobby - Massage Therapy Near Me - Newark, California

We went there on my husband's birthday and our experience was really great. I had the Swedish massage and my husband had the deep tissue massage. It was very relaxing and we will definitely go back again. Mia was the one who gave me my massage and it was amazing. She removed all the knots in my back. I had no muscle pains after the massage. My husband was also satisfied with the massage that he received. We gave a big tip and we didn't mind cause they were really good. They had relaxing music on and it helped us relax. The place is also clean. And the massage therapists were polite and kind. read more

Came here after giving a last minute phone call to ask if they had any availability on a weekend. My friend and I have been talking about getting a massage for some time now. They only had one masseuse available when we went so I let my friend go first. There's a guy in the front who man's the front desk and he's very cordial. They ask for payment first since they've experienced customers coming in and running out without paying before. )-: My friend came out with her face all a-mess, a sign of a great massage haha will come by again soon. read more

Mia is wonderful! My boyfriend recommended me this spot and let me just say, wow! She found all my knots and went ham.. She even moved appointments for me to get squeezed in because of my tight schedule. I'm definitely coming back soon. I need it xD read more

My first time here, I have this pain in right lower back radiating to my butt and calves, Mimi knows exactly How to fix it. I couldn't bend before I went there, right after the massage all the pain was gone. I had use a lot of pain patch and CBD cream it wasn't going away, only the massage did. I'm planning to back . Must try . read more

I made an appointment with them for a 30 minute massage over the phone. They were very accommodative and helped squeeze me in last minute. The lady who seemed like the manager of the place insisted on paying in cash (which was fine, but she seemed a little too insistent). Apparently what you pay for 30 minutes is not enough, and the staff does expect a pretty hefty tip afterwards, so be prepared. I chose therapeutic massage and it was great, but felt like it was a little pricey for the time spent + 20% tip involved. read more

Yesterday I pushed myself way too hard on a hike, 14 miles and 3000 foot elevation climb-twice on that trail... and today I hurt very, very badly! Cindy wired my muscles for 90 minutes and I feel a thousand percent better!!! The prices are fair, all are kind and the place is nice, clean and friendly!!! Will definitely be going back! Thank you!!! read more

My sciatica was acting up to the point I was walking with a limp and my leg hurt all the way to my lower back and butt. So I really needed a great massage to help the soreness and pain. This was close by to a few Locations I had to go to later so I pulled the trigger and I am glad I did. It was a little after lunch so they weren't busy and I didn't feel rushed. My masseuse was Lulu? And she worked on my leg and back. It was a great massage. Strong but not painful. She put so much effort into it that I ended up sweating. Probably from hitting all the right pressure/nerve points. I walked out a little woozy but this was one of the best massages I've had a in a while. I've had stronger and more technical massages but this was just perfect and what I needed read more

I don't go for massage often but was sore and after a busy trip and needed a good massage. decided to trust the positive reviews for this place on yelp, and i'm glad that i did! Tried to make an appointment at a short notice and asked for Mia, she wasn't available but recommended Jenny for a deep tissue massage. Again i went with the recommendation and was not disappointed. Jenny speaks just enough english to ask & understand if there are particular pain points or if the pressure is ok, but the massage was excellent. she has a good technique, found and kneaded all knots and didn't rush through any parts. I walked away feeling relaxed, refreshed and without any lingering pain/stiffness. I will definitely keep going back as long as the quality stays this good. read more

This place has been here since 2007 and I never even heard of it. My wife and I were off and I was looking for a place to get a massage for the both of us. Looking around yelp, I came across Newark Excellent Massage and wanted to support something local. I completed the online request form and was contacted rather quickly. While on the phone, we talked about the massage, price and together agreed to a time. As soon as my wife and I arrived in the lobby, I seen a gamer chair at the front desk, decor that had many different themes, and it made me wonder if I am at the right place. Somebody came out to greet us and asked us to take a seat while they were preparing the rooms. I requested different rooms because my wife knows I can get chatty. They walked us to our rooms and asked us to get undressed and lie face down. My masseuse was fantastic. She found all of my pain areas and worked out all of the knots. It was a little painful but my body felt so relaxed after. My wife felt the same way and we were so pleased with our massages. My wife wants to make this a monthly visit. Check this place out. We will likely go back. And when you go, don't let the lobby deceive you, your body will get a very good massage and sleep so well that night. read more

As the name states, excellent massage at a great value. Very clean as well. The massage started on time and the therapists were very friendly. read more

One of the worst places I ever been! They don't honor the appointment time and ask to wait for 45 mins to one hour. This has happened 3 times already. The lady that takes appointments is not sorry at all and simply says she did a mistake - the same mistake 3 times!! There is no compensation for the making you wait for such a long time in spite of a confirmed appointment. Please avoid this place. read more

Mia and team were great. We have now gone twice and can report for both instances money really well spent. It's a massage treatment. A little discomfort goes a long way after all the tension and knots are worked out. I tend to prefer going hard! You feel rewarded afterwards. You have to appreciate this place for what it is and what they offer. It's not a high end spa with calming decor. If you want a Swedish massage you have to look elsewhere. It's nestled in a small business office has decor that doesn't appeal to our aesthetic. Music sounds like it's playing from a 90s boom box and there is a fair amount of good conversation throughout the massage. But one thing is undeniable - the quality and attention to details is absolutely wonderful. We will be long time customers here. We highly recommend folks try it. read more

As an athlete and admitted tennis fanatic, I have a 30-year history with injuries, rehab and yes, massage. I've experienced all types of massage including Shiatsu, myofascial release, deep tissue, acupressure, Thai and others. Although COVID kept me away from massage for over a year, it didn't stop me from playing tennis, getting tight, pulling a muscle and aggravating old injuries. When I finally felt comfortable visiting a massage studio again, I was in search of someone to help me get back on track and undo a year's worth of damage to my body. The positive reviews are true. I've absolutely found what I needed at Newark Excellent Massage which is why I'm taking the time to write this review. I don't write many reviews and they're all long. For me, massage is a partnership. I need a partner who is caring, skilled and effective. I start with caring because I've learned you get far better results when you combine care with skill. I've definitely found that partnership at this tiny place off the beaten path. Caring doesn't just mean they're nice either. It means they ask me how the last massage worked when I come back. It means they're offering advice for what I can do on my own to improve health. It means they're attentive to the whole experience from the time I walk in until I leave. They're also human beings which is refreshing after a year of COVID lockup. Being caring works together with being skilled. As a fairly big guy and an athlete, I need a STRONG massage. You can't break up the adhesions and knots without putting in work. However, no one wants unnecessary pain. They are great at being curious with my body and finding exactly what is needed and applying the necessary pressure without ignoring how my body is responding. That takes skill. Therapeutic massage isn't for everyone, but it is a sign of great skill that will apply to more relaxing types of massage as well. Ultimately, the proof is in the results. In only a few visits, I was able to undo months of tightness and eliminate my fear of an Achilles tear. I am walking without hip pain for the first time in over a year. My recovery time from tennis is not yet like it was in my 20s, but it's much faster than I'd gotten used to. I am by no means "healed", but my partner and I are progressively working together to optimize my health. Great massage doesn't just reduce pain and give greater freedom of movement, it can give hope. read more

I went to this place with 2 of my girl friends and we all enjoyed the massages! The ladies were very nice and adjusted to the pressures we liked. I wish all three of us could have been in one room, but honestly it was fine to have two in one room and one in the other. Definitely will go back! Also, shoutout to Lisa (the masseuse) according to one of my girl friends! read more

Great massage and got rid of a lot of knots after a week of working at my desk more than normal.

I have visited a few times now. They do a great job here. I'm a big guy and need the deep tissue massage to get the benefit. They apply the right amount of pressure and make sure to target the problem areas. I am thankful for finding this place. read more

The massage session was okay but they are very aggressive in demanding a 30% gratuity.

Very detail massage for full body's , will recommend the pace and definitely will come back again

Great place for a massage!! Mia is the best in the business!! I would definitely recommend this establishment. Always leave feeling better.

Not the experience I wanted. The two women talked too much, kept pushing me to spend more and sign up for more days. Cindy kept asking me where the pain was throughout the massage and I kept repeating myself over and over. The other woman walked in while I was on the table without knocking which was unprofessional and rude, then started asking million questions including where are you from. What did that have to do with anything? I finally had to ask if I could have some quiet. In more pain today after the deep tissue jabs I had to endure after I asked her not to.Not going back there ever. read more

If I could give Mia a 12 star rating I would. This is a very professional massage parlor. Mia has performed traditional massages, cupping and hot stones. She has very strong hands and is not afraid to get the knots out. I would choose Newark Excellent Massage over any other massage parlor in the area. Thank you Mia for your wonderful service to me and my family!! read more

I want to thank Mia at Newark Excellent Massage. I was able to book an appointment over the phone with short notice and was met with a smile. Definitely my new go to massage place! read more

I needed a massage and I've been coming here for years but today was kinda different. I actually had to request the masseuse to step on my back because usually they do that here. In addition they charged $75 but I have them a generous tip ($25) I may think about going to another spot to open my options. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place but for $75 plus what I have, I shouldn't have to ask read more

I'm very disappointed with my whole experience with this place. It started with my husband calling and setting an appointment for 5. When we got there we had to wait a solid 10-15 minutes while one lady tried to figure out what to do. Turns out they didn't have enough people to take care of both my husband and I. They told us one of us would need to start and the other one would need to wait 20 minutes for someone else. Once my massage started I was highly disappointed. My massage was painful without much adjusting from my therapist. There was also the issue of many people kept calling or interrupting our session. Once I was done I had to sit and wait an extra 20 and close to the time my husband was done one of the ladies started to demand for a tip. I told her my husband had our card so I couldn't pay yet. She really pushed for gratuity even once my husband came out. My husband notified her that he had to pay more than what they notified him the price would be. Overall the service was poor and they will aggressively push for gratuity. read more

Fantastic hot stone massage with Kelly! Excellent pressure, same day appointment, and reasonable pricing. There is parking around the back (one way in, one way out) so just slow down and you'll see it driving in on Thornton before the building. The entrance is nearer to the back parking than the street. Pay by credit card is ok (and ok for tip also). Honestly one of the best massages I've had in a long time, and I have gone to Four Seasons and such in the past for 3x the cost. I'll be back! read more

The best spot in Newark/Fremont. I've seen only Mia but the reviews of this place were all right on. Professional. Clean. They start with hot stones, they know what they are doing. Totally recommend this place read more

Massage was good but they were rushing! I give this place a one star bcus they made me tip more than what i was going to. I was going to tip 15, when the lady said no i HAD to tip 40. I was upset bcus she said it demandingly and very rude. I don't remember where it said tips were mandatory. She brought up on how we tip at restaurants so we have to tip at massages too?? Times are hard so obviously i was upset i had to pay $40 for a $60 massage. Unbelievable dont come here unless you want to be forced to tip. read more

I highly recommend Cindy! She did an amazing job with her very strong hands working out all of my knots and strains. She asked where I was experiencing the most strain and soreness, and focused on those areas. I felt like I was walking on clouds when leaving. My entire body felt so light and relieved like a huge amount of stress was lifted off of me. This was my first massage and the best advice Cindy offered was that massage therapy is just as important as other health and wellness activities we focus on. Along with a healthy diet and routine exercise, massage therapy is needed for a healthy body, muscles, and opening up blood-flow. Thank you for the incredible massage Cindy! And, thank you Mia for recommending Cindy and setting up my appointment. I will be definitely be back. read more

I have been here 2 times and have had truly excellent massages. My therapist has been Mia and she is wonderful.
